New Releases
49 Winchester - Change of Plans CD/LP (New West)
Hailing from the small Appalachian town of Castlewood, Virginia, 49 Winchester is a six-piece band whose rugged roots and unfiltered energy have earned them acclaim as one of country music's most exciting rising acts. Known for their fiery blend of Southern rock and country soul, the band has released five studio albums, toured internationally, and built a loyal following through their electrifying live performances. Led by singer-songwriter Isaac Gibson alongside Bus Shelton (lead guitar), Chase Chafin (bass), Noah Patrick (pedal steel), Tim Hall (keys), and Justin Louthian (drums), 49 Winchester channels the grit, heart, and humor of Appalachia in every song. Produced by Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, their latest album finds the band crafting new music that expands their sound while staying true to their working-class roots. [Indie exclusive gold vinyl pressing. Both vinyl and CD editions are signed by the band!]
Ryan Bingham - They Call Us the Lucky Ones CD/LP/cassette (Bingham Recording Co.)
They Call Us The Lucky Ones is a road-worn portrait of modern Americana - songs about movement, memory, love, and survival, exploring the space between freedom and consequence where highways replace homes and connection becomes the true measure of success. The album tells stories of outsiders and drifters, chosen family and lost friends, broken systems and restless ambition - and the ghosts we carry no matter how far we run. This collection of ten songs finds Ryan Bingham at his best - where life isn't always about perfection or redemption, but about connection. Because no matter how far you go, how fast you run, or how loud the music gets, all that matters is the people and stories you carry with you along the way.
[Indie exclusive Electric Smoke color vinyl pressing.]
The Claypool Lennon Delirium - The Great Parrot-Ox and the Golden Egg of Empathy CD (ATO Records)
Released 5/8 on vinyl, now available on CD. The 3rd collaborative album between Les Claypool & Sean Ono Lennon is an elaborate concept record reflecting on morality, the warnings of A.I., and the slippery slope of optimization without empathy. Told across 14 songs - which ooze with classic psychedelic / progressive rock stylings - and the accompanying comic book by Rich Ragsdale, The Great Parrot-Ox and The Golden Egg of Empathy is a peak for both The Claypool-Lennon Delirium and rock music at large. Deluxe 7x7 bound package includes 24-page original comic book.

"The ambitious young Irish balladeer crafts a debut album that's heavy on the drama, letting moments of anthemic beauty peak through his cryptic delivery." - Pitchfork [Indie/retail exclusive gold vinyl pressing.]
Peter Frampton - Carry the Light CD/LP (UMe)
Peter Frampton is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, a guitar god, hit song writer and a kind human being. In 2014, Frampton was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), a rare, degenerative muscle disease. He was ready to retire after a farewell tour in 2019. Then he realized, he wants to keep going until he can't. At 75, 50 years removed from his #1 album Frampton Comes Alive, he delivers his first new album of original rock songs in 16 years. Carry The Light is co-written with his son Julian. The album is co-produced by Frampton, Julian Frampton and Chuck Ainlay. Guest appearances: Benmont Tench, Sheryl Crow, Bill Evans, and Graham Nash. Hiding Places - The Secret to Good Living LP (Keeled Scales)
Debut album from the NYC-based indie rockers Hiding Places. Refined through years of live performance and studio work, their debut LP is the first in their catalog recorded together in a professional studio, instead of in their separate home bases. Originally hailing from North Carolina and Georgia, the band includes Audrey Keelin (vocals, guitar), Nicholas Byrne (vocals, guitar), Henry Cutting (drums), and Michael Matsikis (bass, production). Together, they've developed a forward-thinking sound with a sense of nostalgia built into it: a blend that draws from the collage-like indie rock of Yo La Tengo, the elegant slowcore of The New Year, the riffy story-songs of Drive-By Truckers, and the analog hum of The Microphones. [Purple vinyl pressing.]
Khun Narin - III CD/LP (Innovative Leisure)
Khun Narin's Electric Phin Band are a multi-generational psychedelic powerhouse from rural Thailand whose ecstatic, amplifier-blown folk music has quietly become one of the most unlikely global cult phenomena of the last decade. Hailing from Phetchabun Province, the group formed as a community celebration band - playing weddings, temple fairs, ordinations and village parades. At the center of their sound is the electrified phin, a traditional three-stringed Thai lute whose piercing, spiraling melodies cut through walls of percussion and portable PA distortion. What might begin as a local procession quickly transforms into something transcendent: hypnotic riffs cycling endlessly, rhythms pushing forward with relentless momentum, musicians of all ages locked into communal euphoria. For their first new album in a decade, the band recorded in a professional studio for the first time, capturing a depth and clarity never heard before, without sacrificing the ecstatic propulsion that defines them.
Angelique Kidjo - Hope!! 2xLP (East/West Records)
A 16-track project featuring major collaborations with Pharrell Williams, Quavo, Ayra Starr, and Davido. The album blends West African influences with pop and hip-hop, featuring tracks dedicated to her mother and produced partly by Pharrell.
Kevin Morby - Little Wide Open CD/2xLP (Dead Oceans)
Morby's eighth studio album, produced by Aaron Dessner. The album features a host of contributors such as Andrew Barr, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Katie Gavin of Muna, Lucinda Williams, Meg Duffy of Hand Habits, Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso, and Dessner, who plays multiple instruments across it. This time out, Dessner's production elevates Morby's recordings while never losing focus of the songs themselves. There's a newfound confidence and clarity in both Morby's writing and Dessner's production that recalls Tom Petty's 1994 classic Wildflowers. [Eco-Mix vinyl pressing.]
New Idea Society - Fire on the Hill CD/LP (Relapse)
The fourth album from the indie rock band and their first since 2010. The band has taken on differing shapes and forms over the years, but at its heart is the duo of Mike Law (Wild Arrows) and Stephen Brodsky (Cave In, Mutoid Man), a pair enraptured and united by the alchemical power of songwriting. With Brodsky describing their process as “microscopic” and Law marveling at the particulars of the minutiae they pored over, the attention to detail and their meticulous approach to making adjustments in service of the work shines through in the cohesiveness of this collection of songs. [White with multi-colored splatter vinyl pressing.]
Jeff Parker / ETA IVtet - Happy Today CD/LP (Nonesuch)
Led by guitarist Jeff Parker, featuring saxophonist Josh Johnson, bassist Anna Butterss, and drummer Jay Bellerose, the ETA IVtet is a band that grew out of a weekly residency started by Parker in 2016 at Northeast Los Angeles venue ETA. Over seven years of holding down that residency, Parker's ETA ensemble evolved from a band that played mostly standards into a group known for its transcendent, long-form (sometimes stretching out for 45 minutes or more) journeys into innovative, often uncharted territories of groove-oriented, painterly, polyrhythmic, minimalist and mantric improvised music. [Vinyl shipped late and should arrive next week.]
Suzi Quatro - Freedom LP (Chrysalis)
Since first bursting onto the scene with her classic Number One hit singles 'Can The Can' and 'Devil Gate Drive', Suzi Quatro has sold over 55 million records worldwide and is recognized as a true rock 'n' roll legend and pioneering icon. In 2019, she began collaborating with her son, Richard Tuckey (producer, co-writer, guitarist) and their creative partnership now reaches its third chapter with the release of Freedom, their third album together. The new album also features fellow Detroit native Alice Cooper on a rocking duet of the MC5's classic 'Kick Out The Jams'.
Thornton Ramsey - I Called It! LP (Gar Hole Records)
Ramsey Thornton makes modern-day folk music for early mornings and quiet hours. His sound is warm and rhythmic, fueled by intricate fingerpicking and the observational storytelling of a lifelong musician who's still discovering new horizons. Long before he became an unsung hero of Tulsa's music scene - playing banjo in Ken Pomeroy's band, drumming for jazz combos, and collaborating with hometown heroes like Wilderado - the Oklahoma native began drumming at 6 years old. By his late-teens, he was playing stringed instruments, too. Banjo came first. Acoustic guitar followed, with Ramsey developing a hypnotic, percussive style - including intricate rhythms and uniquely phrased arpeggios - that seemed to nod to the two instruments he'd already learned. [Indie exclusive purple vinyl pressing.]
Jobi Riccio - Face the Feeling CD/LP (Yep Roc)
Jobi Riccio steps into her next chapter with Face the Feeling. Riccio first broke through with her 2023 debut Whiplash, a coming-of-age record rooted in folk and country traditions. On Face the Feeling, she pushes beyond those foundations, embracing a bolder, electric indie-rock-driven sound that mirrors the album's emotional depth. Where Whiplash captured the restless search for escape, Face The Feeling finds Riccio choosing to stay, confronting grief, rage, self-doubt, desire, and devotion head-on. Written between Colorado and Nashville and co-produced with longtime collaborators Isaiah Beard and Jesse Timm, the album balances light and dark, restraint and release, as Riccio leans into discomfort as a path toward growth. The result is her most expansive work yet: a fearless excavation of self and a declaration of artistic evolution. [Black and white splash color vinyl pressing.]
Rostam - American Stories CD/LP (Matsor Projects)
Rostam's third album and his first new music in over five years. The Iranian-American artist and acclaimed producer returns with a record that explores his life across dual cultural worlds. The music weaves together elements of Americana and Persian traditions, blending finger-picked guitars, pedal steel, and strummed chords with microtonal Persian melodies. "That marriage of east and west felt like music that I needed to make for this album." Interweaving his own experiences, Rostam's lyrics are a collection of stories and personal reflections.

Long celebrated as one of America's most inventive DIY singer-songwriters, Shakey Graves (Alejandro Rose-Garcia) has built a singular career on experimentation and emotional honesty. Fondness, etc. feels like a window into his most personal world yet - and a full creative reset - placing emphasis on lo-fi sound and analog warmth, packed with soft vocals, haunted guitars, experimental textures, and tender imperfections. An album built purely for joy, reminding us that the quietest moments often hold the most profound beauty.

Built with the same sharp instincts that fueled their viral breakout "Spork," the album blends infectious melodies, emotional honesty, and a fresh perspective on a genre they grew up loving. There's something here for longtime pop-punk fans and for listeners searching for a new entry point into the scene. Telehealth - Green World Image CD/LP (Sub Pop)
Produced by Trevor Spencer, Green World Image, Telehealth's sophomore LP (following debut LP Content Oscillator and a Sub Pop Singles Club release, both from 2023) is a vertically-integrated artwork for the post-grunge, post-flannel Seattleite, and consumers around the globe who are also ready to financialize their own passion for music. Trauma-informed, results-driven, and eminently danceable, the weirdo punk record is inspired by co-vocalist Alexander Attitude's tenure as a former architect in a Climate Pledged™ city that has perfected the art of "Green World" architecture with its network of efficiently zoned 5-over-1s. Telehealth's PNW post-punk creates similar architectural spaces, where the gleaming, futuristic, tech-industrial rhythms and synths of Bezos-era Seattle commingle with the raw, independent, underground sound the city lovingly preserves for cultural texture and marketing purposes. The outcome? Think XTC, REM, and YMO with a stronger focus on ROI. Imagine The B-52s, but B2B. Envision a bigger-brained Brainiac, a transhuman Gary Numan, or a terminally online Pylon. [Loser Edition clear vinyl pressing.]

Various Artists - Danza Secreta: Lost and Hidden Grooves from Argentina (1970-1980) 2xLP (BBE)
Compiled by Argentinian DJs and producers Ric Piccolo and Ariel Harari, Danza Secreta: Lost and Hidden Grooves From Argentina (1970-1980) is an emotional archive made up of music that never belonged to a single, unified scene, but shared a common spirit: a desire to experiment, to make people dance, to break away from dominant genres. The compilation also represents a tangible history of musical resistance to the dark days of the Far-Right authoritarian, fascist and military oppression that blighted Argentina and its people throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s. Featuring tracks originally self-released on small record labels and emerging from underground studio sessions and composed and recorded against a backdrop of the monitoring of ‘subversive’ music by the authorities, Danza Secreta is testament to the underground spirit of resistance in a blend of soul, funk, and disco with distinctive Argentinian signatures.

Jess Sah Bi - Jesus-Christ Ne Deçoit Pas CD/LP (Awesome Tapes from Africa)
Jess Sah Bi is well-known as half of the legendary duo Jess Sah Bi & Peter One who brought homegrown country-Americana to the West African masses with their smash debut Our Garden Needs Its Flowers in the mid-1980s. Sometime in the early 90s, Die Sahbi became gravely ill with an unknown ailment and almost died. He visited various doctors and all kinds of religious healers and nothing helped until he became a born-again Christian. He recorded an album of music praising God in order to honor a promise he made to himself at the depths of his desperation in the hospital. That album, Jesus-Christ Ne Deçoit Pas [Jesus Christ Does Not Let Us Down], came out in 1991 and sold around 3000 cassettes in Ivory Coast. The master tape was lost along the way, so the recording had never been made widely available until now. Jesse didn't have much time to record while visiting South Carolina, and he enlisted some American musicians (Robert Fortner and Gary Davis) to help. They added acoustic guitar, percussion and keyboard accompaniment to Jesse's soaring French and Gouro vocals, harmonica and finger-picked acoustic. The resulting recording is deeply soothing and contemplative music that perfectly complements the songs already embraced by millions.

Pressed as a full-color picture disc, Side A is a pepperoni pizza, Side B a heaping plate of spaghetti and meatballs. The accompanying flexi adds a light appetizer—Caesar salad and garlic bread—and yes, it all arrives with a custom napkin, because details matter.

Already established in Brazil through songs such as "Samba de Verao" ("Summer Samba"), Valle worked here with producer Creed Taylor on a recording that pairs Brazilian rhythmic forms with contemporary American studio orchestration. The sessions include vocals by Anamaria Valle and arrangements by Eumir Deodato. The repertoire features English-language versions of compositions co-written by Valle, including "So Nice (Summer Samba)," "Chup Chup, I Got Away," and "Safely In Your Arms," alongside additional material that reflects his economical writing and feather-light rhythmic approach. The album documents a meeting point between Brazilian popular music and international pop-jazz studio practice at the end of the 1960s. The Verve Vault series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
