What's Happening This Week

I hope y'all are enjoying your summer so far. We've got a couple of new events to announce, a bunch of new releases for tomorrow and a few nice things you could win! Let's dig in...

Jim Hoke will join us for an in-store performance on Saturday, July 6th, at 5PM. Jim is an incredible musician who's played with Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton, NRBQ and tons more. He plays with just about everyone in Nashville and also helps lead the Aqua Velvet Lounge crew. He's got a new album out and will join us to celebrate. We're also hosting the Saturday day party for Drkmtter Collective's Nameless Fest V, next Saturday, June 29th, starting at 1PM.

In the meantime, we're in the midst of a robust round of in-stores at Grimey's. Miles Nielsen & The Rusted Hearts just rocked the shop and Drivin N Cryin play tomorrow, Friday, June 21st, at 4PM. Please note the early start time. Saturday Jim Lauderdale joins us for a free set at 5PM (along with free beer!), Sunday finds Chuck Mead finishing up his week-long "tour" of Nashville honky tonks with a live performance at Grimey's at 1PM. And on Monday, June 24th, The Shootouts, a wonderful western swing and honky tonk band takes the Grimey's stage at 6PM. See details about these and all upcoming events on our events page.

This week's new release slate is stacked with the new, long-awaited return of The Raconteurs! We've got the indie-only white vinyl version, along with free Raconteurs shopping bags with purchase. And you can register to win a rare promo-only 7" by the band while you're here. We've also got the new ones from Drivin N Cryin, Jim Lauderdale and Chuck Mead, to go along with their in-store appearances, plus fresh ones from Buddy & Julie Miller, Bedouine (who plays Grimey's next Friday, June 28th, at 6PM), Fruit Bats, Two Door Cinema Club, Titus Andronicus, Bad Books, Mark Ronson, Hot Chip, Black Pumas, Willie Nelson, Los Straitjackets, Jamie Cullum and more. We've got live albums from The Stones and Travis, a reissue of Mort Garson's proto new age recording Mother Earth's Plantasia (you know, for plants), and vinyl from Grimey's staffer The Robe, P!nk, Parliament, James Brown, Renaldo & The Loaf, Lee Morgan and tons more, all detailed on our new releases page.

Thanks for reading and for supporting your local record store. We're here for you.
