What's Happening This Week

Hopefully you saw our announcement earlier about Jeff Tweedy performing at Grimey's next Wednesday, March 20th, at 12pm. We're pretty excited! I've already gotten some questions about the purchase requirement. If you buy Tweedy's new solo album WARM or his book Let's Go (So We Can Get Back) at Grimey's, you'll get a wristband that guarantees you get in for the in-store. If we don't sell it out, we will let folks in but priority access will go to those with a wristband. I totally understand if you already bought these releases because you're a big Jeff Tweedy fan. This tour is to promote those titles and that's the deal. That's the cost of the ticket to this show. The CD is cheapest, at $14.99, so it's a $15 show if you wanna see Jeff on the Grimey's stage. Pass the CD on to someone and turn them onto the Tweedy magic if you don't need it. Purchase for wristband is in-store only tomorrow & Saturday. Starting Sunday, we'll open purchases up online via our web store. See more details on our events page.

We are also taking preorders online now for the upcoming John Paul White in-store on March 26th and the Steve Earle in-store on April 25th. If you'd like to attend, go ahead and lock it in!

Halfnoise will rock the shop this Saturday, March 16th, at 5PM. It's free and all ages so come on down and rock with us! We'll have free beer for all the 21+ folks courtesy of Tennessee Brew Works. Hope to see you this Saturday.

We are continuing to make our Record Store Day plans for Saturday, April 13th. Most of the orders for the exclusive releases are due at the end of this week so we've been furiously ordering up all kinds of cool stuff. Check the list of RSD releases here. I can also go ahead and let you know that Anderson East and Alanna Royale will be performing here in the afternoon for Record Store Day! Both have RSD releases and will celebrate with us at Grimey's. Stay tuned for more announcements about who else is playing and more details about the big day. Hey, while I've got your attention, who's interested in this mini turntable that plays 3-inch records?

This week's slate of new releases led by new ones from Todd Snider, Stephen Malkmus and Karen O with Danger Mouse. Also out are fresh ones from Robert Forster (formerly of Go-Betweens), Over The Rhine, The Faint, The Cinematic Orchestra, Snarky Puppy, Matmos, Lauren Jenkins and more. We've got the Jerry Garcia Band's Electric On The Eel CD set and a bonus free disc of acoustic Eel recordings if you buy it here at Grimey's. Also we have reissues from The Fall, The Alarm and X, and vinyl from Devo, New Order, Future, Don Cherry, Sam Rivers, Giles Giles & Fripp, The Millennium and plenty more, all detailed on our new releases page.

Thanks for reading and for supporting your local record store. We're here for you.
