Hitting The Racks

Here's your weekly rundown of what's hitting the new release racks at Grimey's

New Releases

Accessory - Dust LP

Accessory is the solo project of Jason Balla (of Dehd), a Chicago-based songwriter and multi-disciplinary artist. Their work centers on the conflict between optimism and melancholy, holding their seemingly infinite weight with equal perspective and grace, pointing to their correspondence through curious and complex melodic experiences that mimic the tension of the natural and digital world. Their debut album Dust is where the celestial meets the molecular. Angels, shooting stars, and lightning converse with blood, serotonin, and calcium. In an era of live- streamed pain and overwhelming apathy, Balla composed these songs to put their world in order, to get to the human heart of it all, processing the decay for himself and for anyone else feeling the ache of pessimism and hopelessness.

Blk Odyssy - Mood Control LP (Earthchild)

Blk Odyssy is an Austin-based artist and producer whose boundary-pushing sound blends soul, hip-hop, rock, funk, and pop. Born in Plainfield, New Jersey, and raised in a household steeped in neo-soul, BLK began channeling his voice through music after the unjust killing of his older brother by police at age 12. That life-altering loss and the experience of growing up Black and male in 21st-century America fuels his raw, layered storytelling. Blk Odyssy unleashes his fourth project, Mood Control, a ten-track album pushing alt-R&B, soul, and funk to new heights. [Green, brown, & white vinyl pressing.]

Marc Broussard - A Chance Worth Taking CD (KTBA Records)

Louisiana-born Marc Broussard channels the timeless spirit of R&B and Southern soul into a bold, modern statement. Teaming up with 2x Grammy Nominated producing Duo Joe Bonamassa & Josh Smith, Broussard is back with 14 new Blues infused soul original songs that will satisfy any musical sweet tooth. Rooted in rich musical tradition, Broussard brings raw emotion and undeniable authenticity to a project sparked by an intense burst of creativity. "It all came together effortlessly," he says. "I can't wait for people to hear what we made."

Cashier - The Weight CD/CS (Julia's War)

In the current wave of rock bands, Cashier stand out for the deep emotional weight they carry, and the clarity with which they wield it. Since their inception, the Lafayette, Louisiana, four-piece has built a buzz around their underlying heaviness that drives both their ambition and impact, quickly embedding themselves in the national DIY circuit, while remaining true to their Cajun roots. Early singles established the band's ability to unite grunge, shoegaze, post-hardcore, and indie rock heads alike, lacing dissonance with undeniable melodic hooks. Bandleader Kylie Gaspard's deeply direct vocal delivery cuts through dense riffs, grounding their songs with her gritty, emotional lyrics. Peeling back some layers of dissonance to reveal more vibrant and clear tones, the four-piece adopted a laser-focused approach to songwriting and arrangement for their debut EP that made every chord count. Recorded entirely in their hometown at producer Chad Viator's home studio, the songs distill themes of desire, insecurity, and disconnection into five tightly wound, melody-driven songs.

Castle Rat - The Bestiary CD/LP (Loma Vista)

Castle Rat is a Medieval Fantasy Heavy Metal band led by the Rat Queen on a mission to expand and defend 'The Realm' from those who seek to destroy it. She is joined by The Count, The Plague Doctor, and The Druid. Together they face the relentless wrath of their arch nemesis: Death Herself - 'The Rat Reaperess.' ["Vernal Dawn" color vinyl pressing.]

Champagne Bubblebath - Mixtape: Volume One LP (Grant Schroff Music)

hampagne Bubblebath's studio debut is an inspired exploration that splits the difference between psychedelic garage funk and golden-era instrumental hip-hop. Polyrhythmics' drummer Grant Schroff dreamt up this beat tape project to pass time during the pandemic. Eventually he drafted longtime bandmates Ben Bloom (guitar) and Jason Gray (bass), along with Seattle's six-string maestro Jimmy James (True Loves, Parlor Greens) to bring his smoked-out vision to fruition. In March of 2026, the quartet is set to unfurl an ambitious, swaggering ten-track opening salvo. Mixtape: Volume One is a fantastic voyage from the annals of funkafied late-'60s rare-groove into mid-'90s crate-digger backpack boom-bap. Champagne Bubblebath delivers the goods, a medicinal expression session that's sure to move the crowd.

Dash Rip Rock - A Song in Everyone LP (Dial Back Sound)

A Song In Everyone' is the latest LP from Louisiana Music Hall of Famers Dash Rip Rock! The album features 10 new high octane tracks of the loud and twangy party rock the band has become well known for over the past four decades.

E L U C I D & Sebb Bash - I Guess U Had to Be There CD/LP (Backwoodz Studioz)

Two turntables and a microphone. There is a truth in the clarity of that simple coda, a truth that also belies the breadth of what is possible within its confines. Sometimes you gotta get reminded. I Guess U Had To Be There, the new album from NYC rapper ELUCID and veteran producer Sebb Bash, is one of those ones. So fresh it sounds like it was made tomorrow, but bet money you could put this on in '89 and get heads bopping. There are moments in music when masters of their craft cross paths at the height of their respective powers-records like Madvillainy, Liquid Swords, Dr. Octagonecologyst, and Hell Hath No Fury- where the result is more than the sum of its parts. Some shining stars make memorable appearances: billy woods, Breezly Brewin, Estee Nack, Shabaka Hutchings. But this is a two-man show, and the duo keep the spotlight where it belongs.

From Ashes to New - Reflections CD (Better Noise Music)

After making their mark as a hugely successful band with a #1-charting album (2023's Blackout), From Ashes to New are set to release their highly anticipated follow-up, Reflections. The band returns with their high-energy fusion of rap, nu metal, electronic, and alternative rock but with darker themes and an even more dynamic sound. Given the momentum from their previous releases, including strong-charting singles and a steadily growing fan base, Reflection is poised to attract both longtime fans and newcomers looking for powerful, emotionally charged rock with cross-genre appeal.

Winston Hightower - 100 Acre Wood LP (K Records)

Winston Hightower is a prolific home recording artist with an expansive discography that crawls across space and genre. A staple in the Midwestern punk/DIY scene, his first work under the eponymous moniker was a self-released tape in January 2015. Since then, he has put out over 100 songs on tape, online and on video. The music defies easy categorization, and instead breezes through a landscape of synths that effortlessly blend pop, rock, rap and jazz. One man in love with the sound of American lo-fi. Gracefully making the transition from perpetual hardcore sideman (Soul Glo, Minority Threat, Twompsax) to mainstage troubadour. Whether his references are Wes montgomery, Augustus Pablo, or Nudge Squidfish, his swagger is all his own.

Sofia Isella - Something is a shell LP (Crush Music)

On her latest EP "Something is a shell." Sofia Isella's vocals swing from coolly detached to emotional detonation, often in the span of the same song. She brings listeners into a world colored by feminist hyper-realism, challenging listeners to re-define ideas of femininity, and safety; to see that things are not okay. She doesn't flinch from the horror stitched into the fabric of the feminine experience. Citing writers like Plath, Margaret Atwood, and Mona Awad as germinal influences on her lyricism, Isella plunges into the underbelly of expectations of good-girlhood, of valiant womanhood. In her songs she splays out the stakes of it all, plumbing the viscera, unearthing the blood, guts, dirt, and decay lurking beneath.

Jane Remover - ♡ (Heart) 2xLP (DeadAir)

Jane Remover is something of an internet legend. They are credited with playing a key role in the creation of the digicore music microgenre, an overstimulated relative of hyperpop. In fact, everything Jane Remover does has an overdose of stimuli: their songs are like the Tasmanian devil from Looney Tunes. A whirlwind of warped and excessive digital pop. Released digitally in late 2025, the 2xLP release of ♡ features beloved JR tracks such as "Magic I Want U" and "Flash in the Pan," along with a full instrumental version of the record on disc 2.

Magdalena Bay - Second Sleep / Star Eyes 7" (Mom + Pop)

Magdalena Bay - Human Happens / Paint Me A Picture 7" (Mom + Pop)

Magdalena Bay - This Is The World (I Made It For You) / Nice Day 7" (Mom + Pop)

Magdalena Bay - Unoriginal / Black-Eyed Susan Climb 7" (Mom + Pop)

Marbled vinyl 7" pressing of Magdalena Bay's 2025 single releases.

Nas - Bouquet (To the Ladies) 7" (Nas and DJ Premier)

"Bouquet (To The Ladies)" finds Nas and DJ Premier in peak form, delivering a refined, empowering tribute to the women who shaped hip-hop culture. Over Premier's signature hard-hitting production, Nas salutes a powerful lineage of icons and innovators. Name-checking legends like Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, Lauryn Hill, Lil' Kim, Foxy Brown, and Missy Elliott alongside newer voices carrying the torch such as Rapsody, Little Simz, Megan Thee Stallion and many more. Pressed on a limited-edition Lavender Bloom 7-inch vinyl.

Prince Daddy & the Hyena - Hotwire Trip Switch LP (Counter Intuitive)

On their fourth album, the pop-punk band recalibrates and reconnects with their roots while sounding more focused and self-aware than ever. Reuniting with Joe Reinhart for the first time in nearly a decade, the album pulls from the punchy lineage of Green Day, the hook-driven quirk of Weezer, the snarky urgency of Joyce Manor and Jeff Rosenstock - all through the distinctly bratty lens of songwriter and vocalist Kory Gregory. He's backed by an airtight band including guitarist Cameron Handford, drummer and vocalist Daniel Gorham, and bassist Jordan Chmielowski. [Orange and yellow vinyl pressing.]

Robber Robber - Two Wheels Move The Soul CD/LP (Fire Talk)

The sophomore LP from the mercurial quartet Robber Robber collects a series of pressurized vignettes to assemble a thrillingly explosive statement. Written and recorded following the demolition of founding members Nina Cates and Zack James' longtime home, Two Wheels Move the Soul captures the chaos of living at the mercy of powers-that-be. Propelled by Cates' nonchalant bars - inspired by the effortlessly cool cadence of Gucci Mane and Lou Reed - Two Wheels Move the Soul spans post-punk scorchers, burnt-out slacker anthems, and melodies that sweeten every bitter pill stomached along the way. [Blue vinyl pressing.]

Snocaps - Snocaps CD/LP (Anti)

Allison and Katie Crutchfield have formed a new band called Snocaps. An indie-rock record that recalls Allison's band Swearin' and Katie's early records as Waxahatchee, Snocaps was born out of the twin sisters' desire to work on music together as they had in their teens and twenties. Allison and Katie are backed by friends and close collaborators Brad Cook and MJ Lenderman. The album was produced and almost entirely engineered by Cook, and all four musicians play multiple instruments across the record. After a handful of shows at the end of 2025, Snocaps will be put on ice for the foreseeable future, although, as Katie says, "Allison and I have been, in some way, shape or form, doing this together for over 20 years, " so it is practically a given that they will work together on music at some point again in the future.

Sienna Spiro - Die on This Hill 7" (Capitol)

7" single release of the British singer's 2025 track.

Teen Suicide - Nude Descending Staircase Headless CD/LP (Run for Cover)

The band seventh album and first in three years. Originally formed in 2010 as a side project of Sam Ray, Teen Suicide gradually evolved while remain- ing a passion-driven endeavor. Since 2017, the lineup has included Kitty Ray, and in 2022 the band officially became a full-time project with the addition of drummer Niko Wood. Together, the trio began writing and recording their new LP. Described by Sam Ray as the band's "career highlight so far," Nude descending staircase headless explores the endless pursuit of fulfillment through creation, threading motifs of death and rebirth with themes of embracing joy in the wake of immense loss. The record reframes the self not as an isolated object, but as a single strand within a larger, interconnected web. Musically, the band draws inspiration from artists such as Nirvana, Radiohead, Shellac, and Helmet, channeling the intensity and experimentation of late-'80s and '90s heavy rock. [Gray vinyl pressing.]

They Might Be Giants - The World is to Dig CD/LP (Idlewild Recordings)

They Might Be Giants treat the entire history of popular music as a trampoline rather than a rulebook. Like two pinballs pinging off of each other through musical murals stretching into a giddy ether, TMBG moves by ricochet. On their album The World Is to Dig, the multi- Grammy- winning duo continue bouncing through the pop multiverse, digging into whatever they find with playful zeal. John Linnell and John Flansburgh continue to fire ideas off one another like particles in a perpetual motion experiment, each collision producing a new angle, a new melodic left turn, resulting in tracks packed with esoteric references, mischievous details, and left- field detours. Untethered from trends, immune to nostalgia, and equally ready to draw from Tin Pan Alley theatrics and contemporary pop culture references, The World Is to Dig is the sound of a band very much in motion; not chasing relevance, but generating it on their own terms. [Yellow vinyl pressing.]

Benjamin Tod - Vengeance and Grace CD/LP (Lost Dog Street Band)

Grounded in a season of life that has been earned rather than borrowed, Benjamin Tod speaks with the ease of someone no longer running from himself. There is joy now - a steadiness that comes from commitment. With the recent arrival of his son and a deep well of new music on the horizon, Tod is firmly rooted in both purpose and possibility. That clarity is evident in Vengeance and Grace, the Lost Dog Street Band frontman's forthcoming and most expansive solo album to date. Conceived as a "dual-version" release, the project presents two parallel worlds: (Alone) is a stripped solo-acoustic version, along with its full band counterpart. Together, the two versions form the full range of what Tod is capable of: restraint on one side, force on the other. Rooted in traditional country and folk, his work stands firmly in the modern music landscape, shaped by experience, restraint, and the life he's built around it. [Indie exclusive red vinyl pressing.]

Tomora - Come Closer LP (Capitol)

Come Closer is Tomora's debut LP, written and produced jointly by Tom Rowlands and Aurora. The album creates its own unique world, pairing Aurora's distinctive vocals and Tom's unparalleled studio expertise. Lead single "Ring the Alarm" is a glorious, mechanized sound of alien contact, alive with chaos, mischief and release. [White vinyl pressing.]

Tomorrow x Together - 7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns [ANXIETY ver.] CD (Bighit Entertainment)

Tomorrow x Together (TxT) releases their 8th mini album '7th YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns'- capturing the emotions of their journey so far. Available in 3 versions: HUNGER Ver., TENSION Ver., ANXIETY Ver. Contents: Outbox, Photobook (88p), Poster, Lyric Book, Postcard (1of 5), Sticker, Selfie Photocard (1of 5), Unit Photocard (1of 10), CDR, CD Envelope, Envelope. Dimensions: 175 x 250 x 15 mm.

Wanda Felicia - Reflections of Love 7" (Timmion Records)

Wanda Felicia's "Reflections Of Love" b/w "All In The Game" pairs laid-back funk with deep soul introspection - a warm, analog-crafted 7" that showcases her vocal confidence, emotional depth, and timeless songwriting touch, backed by Cold Diamond & Mink at their finest.

Jessie Ware - Superbloom CD/LP (Interscope Records)

Jessie Ware returns with her new album, Superbloom, the culmination of her latest era. Superbloom erupts into a glittering rush of Studio 54-inflected groove-pop, expanding Ware's increasingly euphoric body of work as she explores our shared craving for touch, pleasure, intimacy and connection. The album features recent single "I Could Get Used To This," hailed as her "ultimate entry into divahood" and the first track to fully capture the record's assured, expansive spirit, carried by cascading strings and a sense of full-bodied release.

Eaves Wilder - Little Miss Sunshine CD/LP (Secretly Canadian)

The North London singer-songwriter releases her eagerly anticipated debut album. The record marks a stellar evolutionary leap for the artist who first came to attention back in 2020, aged 16, with her self-recorded lockdown release Won't You Be Happy. Eaves began working on Little Miss Sunshine after a period of reflection which saw her question whether she could ultimately do justice to the music in her head. Time spent with the record will reveal ten songs that look to the cycles of nature to explain and celebrate the emotional weather that makes us human. Lead single Hurricane Girl is a sensational synergy of diaphanous shoegaze harmonies and elemental rock guitars inspired by watching documentaries about storm chasers, using the metaphor to shine a light on friends who have been compelled to seek out tempestuous relationships. [Orange and yellow vinyl pressing.]

Yot Club - Simpleton LP (Alternate Side)

Simpleton, the third album from multi-platinum indie-rock singer/songwriter Yot Club, dismantles the utopian view of the American suburbs, treating finely manicured life as a mirage. The album wrestles with how gated neighborhoods, curated feeds, and predictable routines can blur, and even erase, empathy and responsibility, creating a walled-off world where difficult questions and harsh realities are easy to ignore.

Adrian Younge - Younge CD (Linear Labs)

Younge is Adrian Younge's magnum opus: an orchestral album written from the perspective of a hip hop producer, and a hip hop record composed with the discipline of classical and cinematic music. It reframes orchestral composition not as nostalgia, but as a living language built for reinterpretation. Inspired by composers like Lalo Schifrin, David Axelrod, Ennio Morricone, Galt MacDermot, Bo Hansson, and later visionaries such as Portishead's Geoff Barrow, the album draws from a lineage of emotionally charged, forward-thinking music that quietly shaped hip hop decades later through sampling. Recorded entirely to tape at Linear Labs, Younge unfolds like a lost soundtrack from an alternate history: modular compositions, dramatic movements, and themes that feel simultaneously ancient and futuristic. The music anticipates reuse - it invites sampling, deconstruction, and dialogue-without ever feeling unfinished.

Zayn - Konnakol CD/LP (Mercury)

Zayn’s fifth studio album is his most culturally inspired project to date. The pop-forward album expands on the sound fans first heard on his record-breaking debut studio album, Mind of Mine. Konnakol in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to Zayn lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. Drawing on his own heritage for inspiration, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who he is, where he comes from and where he intends to go. ["Swimming Through Seas" color vinyl pressing.]

Reissues, Comps, Live Recordings, Vault Excavations...

Cannonball Adderley - Cannonball's Sharpshooters LP (Verve)

Cannonball's Sharpshooters, originally released in 1958, documents alto saxophonist Julian "Cannonball" Adderley leading a quintet featuring cornetist Nat Adderley, pianist Junior Mance, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Jimmy Cobb. Recorded on March 4 and 6, 1958, at Bell Sound in New York City, the session captures the group just days before Adderley's recording session for Somethin' Else with Miles Davis, placing the album at a pivotal moment in his late-1950s trajectory. The ensemble presents a compact hard-bop program reflecting Adderley's blues-inflected phrasing alongside the harmonic language of modern bebop. The repertoire balances standards, bop vehicles, and originals, including Tadd Dameron's "Our Delight" and Thelonious Monk's "Straight, No Chaser." Adderley's trademark exuberance while leading an all-star lineup of 1950s jazz defines the character of this session. The Verve Vault series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

Band of Horses - Everything All the Time (20th Anniversary) 2xLP (Sub Pop)

Guitarist/vocalist Ben Bridwell formed Band of Horses in Seattle in 2004, after the end of his nearly ten-year run in northwest melancholic darlings Carissa's Wierd. Carissa's Wierd trafficked in beautiful orchestral pop, whose songs told unflinching stories of heartbreak and loss, leavened with defeatist humor. Band of Horses rose from the ashes of that well-loved band, buoyed by Bridwell's warm, reverb-heavy vocals, and woodsy, dreamy songs oozing with tension, longing and hope. Armed with a fresh Sub Pop deal and a smashing batch of songs, the band recorded their debut full-length, Everything All the Time, with producer Phil Ek at Seattle's Avast studios. Now, on the occasion of the 20th birthday of the album, Sub Pop and Band of Horses present the definitive snapshot of the band circa Everything All The Time. For this anniversary release, the album has been fully remastered, with the artwork refreshed and expanded into a gatefold jacket with liner notes by Phil Ek. And the album is accompanied by an additional LP of bonus tracks, including the 2005 tour EP, a trove of previously unreleased studio and live tracks, and rarities like "The End's Not Near" (as featured on The O.C.) and a demo version of "The Funeral."

Beastie Boys - To The 5 Boroughs (Deluxe Edition) 3xLP (Capitol)

3LP limited deluxe edition of Beastie Boys’ platinum-selling 2004 To the 5 Boroughs album, featuring 11 bonus tracks, including remixes and B-sides., pressed on 180-gram vinyl and housed in a triple gatefold jacket with pop-up elements and an NYC map lithograph, inside a rigid slipcase.

Chuck Berry - St. Louis To Liverpool LP (Chess)

Chuck Berry was an international star long before 1964. Unlike other artists who struggled to compete with the British Invasion, Berry was propelled to new levels of stardom at this time. 'St. Louis To Liverpool' was a direct response to this growing popularity, resulting in new top-charting hits like "No Particular Place to Go," "You Never Can Tell," "Promised Land," and "Little Marie" (the sequel to "Memphis, Tennessee.") Bring home the sound of America's greatest blues label in high fidelity with the Chess Records Acoustic Sounds Series. These audiophile reissues of classic albums and compilations from the Chess discography are remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings (QRP).

Art Blakey & Jazz Messengers - 'S Make It LP (Verve)

'S Make It, recorded in 1964 and released the following year on Limelight, captures drummer Art Blakey leading a transitional edition of his Jazz Messengers. At the time, Blakey was navigating the departure of several key members and searching for a new configuration, resulting in a distinctive short-lived lineup within the band's long history. The sextet featured Lee Morgan (trumpet,) Curtis Fuller (trombone,) John Gilmore (tenor saxophone,) John Hicks (piano,) and Victor Sproles (bass.) Together, they delivered a hard-driving program that reflects both Blakey's established hard-bop intensity and the shifting personnel landscape of the mid-1960s Messengers. Blakey's drumming anchors the session throughout with the galvanic rhythmic command that defined his leadership across decades. The Verve Vault Series is always mastered from analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

Bolt Thrower - ...for Victory LP (Earache)

Bolt Thrower's fifth album For Victory both imagines scenes of terror and creates their soundtrack. A must have record for any Death Metal collection. Exclusive RSD Essentials pressing on Yellow and Black Marble vinyl.

Carcass - Heartwork LP (Earache)

Liverpool's legendary Death Metal pioneers Carcass are often credited with shaping the entire death metal genre. Pushing boundaries with their shocking imagery whilst evolving and innovating with each new album. Heartwork is widely renowned as the best Carcass album for its melodic intricacies. Pressed on Purple and Pink marble vinyl, exclusive RSD Essentials.

Desaparecidos - Read Music/Speak Spanish LP (Saddle Creek)

New color vinyl pressing of the sole album from the band led by Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes. In late 2001, Conor Oberst, Denver Dalley, Landon Hedges, Ian McElroy, and Matt Baum spent a week at Presto! Recording Studio in Lincoln, NE recording a punk album. That debut album, released in the post-9/11 fog of early 2002, screamed out observational commentary on urban development, the sacrifice of human value for the dollar bill, and the new American Dream in a way that felt distinctly out of sync with the hyper-patriotic atmosphere of peak G.W. Bush-era America. Over 20 years on, those feelings are just as, if not more, relevant than they were in that moment. America has mutated into a new frightening version of itself, in many ways unimaginable two decades ago. Yet, the fear and disgust voiced on Read Music/Speak Spanish now sound more prophetic than paranoid, making the album’s message as necessary as ever. [Light blue, cream, and orange tri-color vinyl pressing.]

Devo - Art Devo 2xCD (Futurismo)

Art Devo is a vital collection housing unheard and obscure mind blowers sourced directly from the vaults of The De-Evolution Band. This anthology takes you from the bands initial conception in Akron, Ohio to the moment before the world woke up, in a collection of sonic and visual art that captures Devo at the dawn of industrial death. Art Devo showcases the mesmerizing evolution of a band on the brink of discovery, mining irony, wit and dark humor from the madness of a distorted modern world still coming to terms with aftermath of a collapsed economy and the Vietnam war. From 1973-1977 Devo would transform from an art project, pop art in the literal sense, into the group David Bowie would declare "the band of the future". Here you will find the audio mutations of a band at the edge of greatness, initial concepts that gave birth to a new aesthetic that continually challenged preconceptions about music, art, performance, culture, composition and consumption.

Flipper - Generic Flipper LP (Superior Viaduct)

Generic Flipper, the debut album by Flipper, remains the most absorbing full-length LP to emerge from the early San Francisco punk scene. A constant source of imitation for so-called "noise rock" bands, it has yet to be surpassed in its nihilistic glee. Recorded between October 1980 and August 1981 and released in 1982 on the indispensable Subterranean Records, this album functions as a chaotic, sticky mass of individual personalities: the magma-like bass eruptions and dual vocals of Will Shatter and Bruce Loose, Ted Falconi's icy guitar scraping and the relentless beat of drummer Steve DePace. At times playful and taciturn, paranoid and absurd, Generic charts a deliberate path that willfully chances destruction.

Etta James - Tell Mama LP (Chess)

Etta James kindles a roaring fire of pure heart and soul in her 1968 album, Tell Mama. For her seventh studio album (and second for the Cadet imprint,) James agreed to record with Rick Hall at the storied FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The distraction-free environment paired with the improved technology at the studio resulted in one of the greatest albums of the 1960s. The clarity on the record is remarkable, showcasing the emotion and passion she invokes with her unforgettable voice. Tracks like "Tell Mama," "Just A Little Bit," and one of the most successful tracks of her career, a cover of "I'd Rather Go Blind," paint a powerful portrait of the legendary Etta James. Chess Records Acoustic Sounds Series feature audiophile reissues of classic albums remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at QRP.

Karate - Pockets LP (Numero)

Karate’s defiant and final studio album punctuates a 12-year discography that spanned hardcore-style catharsis to feedback-saturated improv. This ’04 classic skipped the Friendster migration for back-to-basics songwriting suffused with jazz phrasings and beat-inspired lyricism. Featuring Codeine/Come guitarist Chris Brokaw, Pockets is remastered from the original analog tapes and housed in a deluxe tip on sleeve with reproduction lyric sheet. [Opaque gray vinyl pressing.]

King's X - Tape Head LP (Brutal Planet)

Originally released in 1998, Tape Head marks a defining moment in the storied career of King's X. For many fans and critics alike-including Martin Popoff of Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, who ranked it as his #1 favorite King's X album-this is the band's magnum opus. A bold and fully self-produced effort, Tape Head was also the band's first album on Metal Blade Records and stands as a testament to their fearless creativity, artistic control, and signature sound: massive grooves, thick harmonies, and soulful grit. [Purple vinyl pressing.]

La Peste - I Don't Know Right From Wrong: Lost La Peste: 1976 - 1979 Vol. 1 CD/2xLP (Wharf Cat Records)

La Peste was Boston's first true punk band and bridged the gap between the city's influential 1970's proto-punk hotbed and the college rock and hardcore punk that followed in the 80's and 90's. This collection tells the full story of La Peste with a presentation of the band's unreleased studio and loft recordings along with the two tracks that have been officially released. These tracks come from the studio session that produced the Better Off Dead 7" (the band's only official release), their 1978 session with The Cars' Ric Ocasek, a 1978 session at Electro Acoustic Studios and 4-track loft recordings made by Boston punks Billy Dafodil and Dave Cola in 1977.

Zara Larsson - So Good CD (Sony Legacy)

Expanded with bonus tracks. 2017 sophomore studio release from the Swedish singer. Features the global hit "Lush Life."

Little Feat - Little Feat 2xCD (Rhino)

Next in the lineup of foundational Little Feat albums to get the Rhino Deluxe treatment is the band's 1971 self-titled debut album. This set includes the original album, AAA-cut from original master tape, alongside a bonus disc of rare previously unreleased alternate versions and outtakes from their early recording sessions.

Jennifer Lopez - J.Lo 2xLP (Sony Legacy)

25th anniversary 18-track version of the classic album pressed on black vinyl, featuring the iconic hits "Love Don't Cost A Thing" "Play" and "I'm Real".

Motorhead - On Parole Sessions 3xCD+Blu-Ray (Rhino)

2025 was an important year in the history of Motörhead. It saw the 50th Anniversary of Motörhead forming, the 50th Anniversary of their first gig and it would have also been Lemmy's 80th birthday. And now in 2026 is the 50th Anniversary of their very first recordings, completed in early 1976. To celebrate, Rhino is releasing the complete On Parole Sessions, 3 CD and 1 Blu-ray set with the original album remixed by Steven Wilson, plus two discs from the same recording sessions remixed by Richard Digby Smith. On Parole, Motörhead's first ever studio recordings from 1975-76, feature Larry Wallis on guitar, Phil Taylor and Lucas Fox on drums and Lemmy on bass guitar and vocals. This is a unique opportunity to hear this legendary, fledgling band, writing and capturing their earliest recordings.

Anderson Paak - Malibu (10th Anniversary Edition) 2xLP (Obe / Apeshit)

Ten years ago, Anderson Paak didn't just release an album; he staged a full-scale takeover of the soul and hip-hop landscape. Released on January 15, 2016, Malibu served as the definitive arrival of an artist who had spent years grinding in the underground before a star-making turn on Dr. Dre's Compton. The album is a sprawling, sun-drenched journey through the Southern California coast, blending 1970s funk, church-reared gospel, and gritty boom-bap into something that feels both nostalgic and entirely futuristic. With a heavyweight production lineup including 9th Wonder, Madlib, Kaytranada, and Hi-Tek, the record maintains a warm, analog texture that was a breath of fresh air in an increasingly digital era. A decade later, Malibu stands as a modern classic and the blueprint for the soulful revivalism that would eventually lead Paak to global superstardom and Grammy-winning heights. [Limited edition tangerine, olive green, & brown vinyl pressing.]

Oscar Peterson - At Baker's Keyboard Lounge CD/LP (Verve)

When Oscar Peterson arrived for a two-week engagement at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit in early August 1960, the pianist's year-old trio, featuring bassist Ray Brown and drummer Ed Thigpen, was ascending to new artistic peaks. Intended at the time as a live album for Verve but never released, the music on 'At Baker's Keyboard Lounge' features remarkable, previously unissued performances, all taped on a single Friday night. No matter the tempo, rhythm, or complexity of the arrangement, the three players breathe as one on these recordings, phrasing as if controlled by a single heartbeat. These new-to-the-world recordings, made in Peterson's prime at the longest continuously operating jazz club in the US, remind you that there will never be anyone else like Oscar Peterson.

Jimmy Scott - Falling in Love is Wonderful LP (Tangerine Records)

The first LP released on Ray Charles' Tangerine Records imprint in 1963, Jimmy Scott's Falling in Love is Wonderful exists as one of the most mythic albums in vocal jazz. Due to contract disputes with his former label, Scott's Tangerine debut was shelved shortly after it was released - much like its Atlantic Records follow-up, The Source - and went un-reissued for decades. Ultimately, Scott, a favorite of his contemporaries like Ella Fitzgerald, never became the star he should have been, but this album remains his masterpiece: A loving, tender collection filled with Scott's masterful work around a ballad.

Elliott Smith - Either/Or cassette (Kill Rock Stars)

Now available on cassette. The beloved third album from the singer-songwriter, originally released in 1997.

Spirit of the Beehive - Hypnic Jerks LP (Tiny Engines)

As the spirit of the beehive front man Zack Schwartz puts it, Hypnic Jerks sounds like the state between wakefulness and sleep. Unlike the spiraling momentum of the band's sophomore LP, pleasure suck, the spirit of the beehive takes a more grounded approach here, though the ground it's standing on is equally otherworldly. Dreamy is a fitting adjective, but the ten tracks on Hypnic Jerks never fully slip into the peaceful character of dream-pop. Hypnic Jerks has the quality of an indescribable dream fading from memory as you slowly begin to regain consciousness. It's warped guitar tones, transcendental synths and smattering of eerie audio samples conjure this purgatorial space between reverie and reality. It's an arena where the songs unexpectedly contort themselves and take on different textures, morphing in and out of one another. [Black and white split vinyl pressing.]
