Flight Attendant Instore Performance + BEER:30

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We’re thrilled to announce that Nashville’s own Flight Attendant will be performing a free in-store set at Grimey’s on Saturday, August 16th at 4:30 PM (aka BEER:30). Catch the band in an intimate setting before they head out for another string of tour dates. Hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine for delivering “an experience,” Flight Attendant has become a sonic force in Nashville’s thriving alternative-pop scene. Known for their infectious hooks, lush arrangements, and unforgettable live shows, this five-piece is as bold as they are dynamic.

Under the Powerlines, released in late 2024, has been met with critical acclaim. Produced by Swedish collaborator Anders Fleming, the record has been praised by Mundane Magazine as “something adjacent to Radiohead’s OK Computer with a twist of modern pop.” The album features singles including “Therapy Couch,” currently making waves on radio, the anthemic “Powerlines,” and the synth-drenched fan-favorite “1987 Prom Queen.” Each track captures a different facet of the band’s wide-ranging sound, blending alt-pop sensibilities with cinematic textures and raw, emotional power.

Flight Attendant is fronted by powerhouse vocalist and keyboardist Karalyne Winegarner, who brings a theatrical energy to every performance, once described by Glide Magazine as “Freddie Mercury working the crowd in an arena.” She’s joined by guitarist and vocalist Vincent Maniscalco, violist and vocalist Nikki Christie, drummer Derek Sprague, and bassist Peyton Rodeffer—a crew of musicians who originally bonded over late shifts behind Nashville bars before becoming one of the city’s most exciting live acts.

The band’s journey has taken them from parking lot gigs to sold-out club dates across the U.S. and Europe, with major festival appearances at SXSW, Boulevardia, Tomato Art Fest, and Crossroads Music Fest along the way. After wrapping a successful headlining Spring 2025 tour that took them through five countries (with sold-out shows in Boston, Frankfurt, and Berlin), Flight Attendant is back in town and ready to bring the energy straight to the record bins at Grimey’s.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or brand new to the band, this is your chance to see them up close and personal. They’ll be performing a short set from Under the Powerlines and signing copies of the album afterward. Come early, bring your friends, and get ready to put your tray tables up—Flight Attendant is cleared for landing.

A note on BEER:30 events—Flight Attendant’s instore performance coincides with our weekly BEER:30 hang, so we’ll be offering free Tennessee Brew Works beers to those 21+ (with valid IDs). Beer is complimentary but we are collecting cash tips to be donated to support the good works of the folks at DRKMTTR, Nashville's enduring all-ages space, that thrives as a hub for connectivity and creative collaboration. Beyond being a music venue, DRKMTTR stands as a nexus of resilience, cultivating a dynamic community where the DIY ethos transforms into collective action. Through cross-pollination initiatives, DRKMTTR links artists, organizes communities & the under-21 crowd, and as a 501-C3 non-profit, they seek the backing necessary to perpetuate their pivotal role and create a lasting influence.
