At Grimey’s we’ve been big fans of Tristen for years. We’ve loved listening to her records over the years, reading her poetry, watching her performances, and occasionally catching her when she pops into her sweet vintage clothing shop, Anaconda Vintage (located just behind the record store.) Tristen has established herself as a prolific, versatile musician over the past two decades both in Nashville and on a national scale. Her knack for crafting captivating melodies and whip smart lyrics has attracted high-profile collaborators. She co-wrote Love is an Art, the latest album by Vanessa Carlton and toured the country with Jenny Lewis as a part of her Voyager band. 2021 saw her last full-length release, the stellar album Aquatic Flowers, and now Tristen returns with her fifth studio album, Unpopular Music, released November 7th, 2025 via Well Kept Secret. The album features contributions from some of Nashville’s finest, Pat Sansone (Wilco, Autumn Defense), Vanessa Carlton, Becca Mancari, Erin Rae and Natalie Prass.
