We’re stoked to announce that NEEDTOBREATHE will be performing an intimate set at Grimey’s on release day for their new album, The Long Surrender! The band will play a short set and then sign records for fans on Friday, March 27th at 4:00 PM. All who preorder the new album from Grimey’s—either in the record store or on our site here—will receive a wristband for the band’s post-performance signing. Wristbands are required for the signing and also guarantee entrance to our event. (Kids 12 & under don’t require a wristband if attending with a wristband-holding adult.) Bringing a bold new sense of abandon to their soulful fusion of timeless Americana and forward-thinking alt-rock, GRAMMY-nominated band NEEDTOBREATHE is back with their tenth (!!) studio album, The Long Surrender. The record drops on Friday, March 27th via MCA Records and is available to preorder here now on vinyl and CD.

Produced by 9X GRAMMY-winner Dave Cobb and recorded last year at his studio in Savannah, GA, The Long Surrender captures the band at their most vulnerable and instinctive, recorded largely live and driven by lead singer Bear Rinehart’s deeply personal songwriting. While NEEDTOBREATHE embraced a deliberately unfussy approach to the album’s sound, The Long Surrender endlessly pushes into gently inventive terrain, often bringing unexpected texture and energy to Rinehart’s soul-baring lyrics.

Led by the early standout track “Momma Loves Me” featuring The Red Clay Strays, The Long Surrender reflects themes of faith, redemption, and renewed clarity — showcasing a band confident enough to strip everything back and let the songs speak for themselves. 

The Long Surrender is available to preorder now on standard black vinyl LP and CD. Preorders are limited to total of FOUR TOTAL per customer / household. For each album preordered, you’ll receive a wristband such that two LPs preordered = two wristbands, one CD preordered = one wristband, etc. All who place preorders in advance will receive an email with preorder pickup and event details on or by the day before our event.

After the performance portion of our event, NEEDTOBREATHE will sign albums for wristbanded attendees. Wristbands are required for the signing for all 13+ and guarantee entrance to our event. (Wristbands are not required for kids 12 & under attending with a wristband-holding adult.)

Preorders placed for local, event pickup will be available starting at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 27th the day of our event with NEEDTOBREATHE.

Event preorders for store pickup will be held for three months after the event date. Please pick up your copy of The Long Surrender no later than June 27th.
