We’re thrilled to be hosting Father John Misty in the record store on Friday, February 14th for an album signing with fans! It’s a big day for him as he’s in town to perform a sold out show at The Ryman Auditorium that night and is also celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the release of his second Father John Misty album, I Love You, Honeybear, which will be released as a single-disc limited edition pearlescent red colored vinyl LP that day via Sub Pop Records.

To participate in our signing event you’ll need to preorder a copy of I Love You, Honeybear or his 2024 studio album, Mahashmashana, or his recent Greatish Hits compilation album, in person at Grimey’s or on our site below. All who preorder one of these three Father John Misty titles will score a wristband for our event that they’ll pick up in the shop on the 14th along with their preordered album. Wristbands are required for the signing for all 13+. (Kids 12 & under don’t need a wristband if attending with a wristband-holding adult). A bit on I Love You, Honeybear… Father John Misty’s landmark 2015 sophomore album, I Love You, Honeybear, is back on vinyl, remastered and repackaged as a single LP. (It was originally released as a double LP.) The now-classic album includes fan favorites “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins),” and the title track, “I Love You, Honeybear.” I Love You, Honeybear debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart, reached number 3 on the Billboard US Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts, and number 2 on the US Folk Albums chart. It earned a Pitchfork Best New Music, a perfect score from Exclaim!, and rave reviews from NME, Mojo, Q, Spin, and more. It was hailed as one of the best albums of 2015 by Pitchfork, Billboard, The A.V. Club, NME, and Stereogum. I Love You, Honeybear was produced by Josh Tillman and Jonathan Wilson, and mixed by Phil Ek. This 2024 edition was remastered in 2024 by Adam Ayan at Ayan Mastering. he album is available to preorder for our event on pearlescent red vinyl, CD & cassette.

A bit on Mahashmashana… Mahāśmaśāna (महाश्मशान)— great cremation ground, all things going thither. Mahashmashana is is the sixth album by Father John Misty. The album was produced by Josh Tillman and Drew Erickson. It was engineered and additionally produced by Michael Harris and it features arrangements by Drew Erickson. The album was performed by Josh Tillman, Drew Erickson, Jonathan Wilson, Dan Bailey, Eli Thomson, David Vandervelde, Chris Dixie Darley, Jon Titterington, and Kyle Flynn. Jonathan Wilson served as executive producer. Mahashmashana was recorded and mixed at Five Star and East/West, United and Drew’s House. The album is available to preorder for our event on blue-mashup colored vinyl LP & CD.

A bit on Greatish Hits: I Followed My Dreams and My Dreams Said to Craw… ‘Greatish Hits’ is Father John Misty’s career-spanning collection of songs taken from his five widely acclaimed albums, including Fear Fun (2012), I Love You, Honeybear (2015), the Grammy-nominated Pure Comedy (2017), God’s Favorite Customer (2018), and Chloë and The Next 20th Century (2022). The release marks the first appearance of fan favorite “Real Love Baby” on an album release. The compilation also includes the brand new, previously unreleased song “I Guess Time Just Makes Fools of Us All.” The album is available to preorder for our event on clear with blue/green/purple splatter vinyl LP & CD.

Event orders are limited to four (4) albums total ), per customer / household, so you can secure up to four (4) total wristbands per order placed, however Father John Misty will only be able to sign up 2-3 albums (vinyl and/or CD) per person. Each album preordered comes with one wristband such that two LPs = 2 wristbands, 1 CD = 1 wristband, etc. *Wristbands are required for all 13+ to participate in our signing. (Kids 12 and under do not need wristbands to participate with a wristband-holding adult.) Space is limited and so are wristbands.

Event orders may be picked up at Grimey’s on the day of our event, Friday, February 14th.
