Make plans to join us in the shop on Thursday, October 8th at 4:00 PM for an afternoon of poetry and music celebrating the release of Dana Malone’s Everyone Begotten, Everything Holy. Malone will read from and briefly discuss her new collection of poetry and libretto before signing copies for attendees. She will be joined by Nashville musician Jubal Lee Young of Cashville Trash Pandas who will perform a few songs to contribute to the festiviities. Everyone Begotten, Everything Holy braids stories of those who often fade from consideration--the background singers and silenced voices among us. It notes the external vulnerability and inner turmoil in every human being, while it celebrates the ordinary and the joyful ways we move through our communities and lives. The collection reflects the poet’s musical studies and decades-long career in journalism and speech writing in work that weaves together themes of music and composition, health impediments like Parkinson’s disease and addiction, a sense of place and lack of belonging, theology and religiosity, and violence and war. The collection invites readers to consider, “In what ways are we/am I successful, complicit, doubtful, curious or troubled in spaces that seem to qualify the invitation ‘Come as you are’?”

Dana Malone’s Everyone Begotten, Everything Holy is available to preorder here in paperback. Preorders for local pickup may be claimed at Grimey’s on Thursday, October 8th, the day of our event with Dana Malone. Preorders for mail order will be signed by Dana and will ship out after our event (starting on 10/9).

Preorders are limited to a total of FOUR total (4) per customer / household. All who place preorders in advance will receive an email with preorder pickup and event details on or by the day before our Dana Malone event.

*Preorders for store pickup will be held for three months after release date. Please pick up your Fools For the Fleeting preorder no later than December 15th, 2026.
