You can read more about our signing event with Amy Grant on our site here.
Six-time GRAMMY Winner & recent Kennedy Center Honoree Amy Grant returns with The Me That Remains, her first album of all-new music in over a decade. Produced by the legendary Mac McAnally, this very personal album is a journey through themes of healing, human & spiritual connection, unity, & hope. The album features collaborations with guest artists Ruby Amanfu & Vince Gill along with co writing partners Jon Foreman (Switchfoot), Tom Douglas, Mike Reid, Mac McAnally and more. The title song is a reflection of Amy’s journey over the last few years overcoming heart surgery and a bike accident that nearly took her life. Amy’s music always looks through a lens of hope & faith while probing the human condition with honest commentary and inviting a conversation.
The Me That Remains presents an arc and narrative beginning with the opening track, (“The 6th Of January (Yasgur’s Farm)”) exploring the idealism of generations past and the idea that maybe we’ve lost our way. The album continues with a question of how we learn to trust each other (“How Do We Get There From Here”) so we can choose to ‘see people’ beyond the surface (“The Saint,” “Please Don’t Make Me Beg”). Other themes include hope that we’re not alone (“Beautiful Lone Companion”), what ‘remains’ after trials, struggles, life, health, etc. (“The Me That Remains”), honesty in relationships (“’Til We Get It Right”, “Friend Like You”) and finding the good in each day (“(Nothing Like A) Sunny Day”). The album closes with a reflection on what do we leave this life with after all is said and done (“The Other Side Of Goodbye”).
The Me That Remains sounds and reads somewhat like a ‘life manual’ written from the perspective of an artist that has lived through it all, knows who she is as an artist and human, and as Amy has said, “I want to be present for whatever emerges in my time”. The story is not over, it is just the beginning of new chapters to come.
Preorders for The Me That Remains are limited to total of FOUR per customer / household. For each album preordered, you’ll receive a wristband such that two LPs preordered = two wristbands, one CD preordered = one wristband, etc. All who place preorders in advance will receive an email with preorder pickup and event details on or by the day before our event.
After the performance portion of our event, Amy Grant is going to hang out and sign albums for wristbanded attendees. This is an album signing only where Grant will sign her new release as well as copies of her previous albums (vinyl, CDs, tapes!), with a limit of up to three total albums signed per individual. Wristbands are required for the signing for all 13+ and guarantee entrance to our event. (Wristbands are not required for kids 12 & under attending with a wristband-holding adult.) While photos will certainly be allowed from the sidelines and signing line, time may not allow for staged photos and selfies. Thanks for understanding.
Preorders placed for local, event pickup will be available starting when we open at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 9th, the day of our event with Amy Grant.
Event preorders for store pickup will be held for three months after the event date. Please pick up your The Me That Remains preorder no later than August 9th.
