We’ll be gathering together to celebrate the release of her third full-length album, In the Hour of Chaos, over a week before its official release! Allison will be joined by her band for a short performance and then she will sign copies of her album for event attendees. In the Hour of Chaos is less a third “solo record” and more a mixtape to a musical yet to be written. The album comes at a time when connection is needed more than ever. A generative connector and community leader Allison Russell, alongside production team dim star, cast a creative circle of collaborators to bring the songs to life, emerging from honest, raw dialogues between friends, lovers, chosen family, humans. The new record features Norah Jones, Joy Oladokun, Kara Jackson, Denitia, Ruby Amanfu, Devon Gilfillian, Kashus Culpepper, Brittney Spencer, Sara Watkins, Kyshona, Julie Williams, Chibueze Ihuoma and Ahya Simone. A lovely essay by poet, essayist, and novelist, Ocean Vuong is included in the album.

Due out officially on July 10th, In the Hour of Chaos is available to preorder on limited edition aubergine (eggplant) purple color vinyl LP and CD for local event pickup. Preorders + wristbands may be picked up at Grimey’s on Thursday, July 2nd, the day of our event with Allison.

Preorders are limited to a total of four (4) albums (vinyl or CDs) per customer. For each album preordered, you’ll receive a wristband such that 1 LP preordered = 1 wristband, 2 CDs preordered = 2 wristbands, etc. All who place preorders in advance will receive an email with preorder pickup and event details on or by the day before our event.
