Hitting The Racks
Here's your weekly rundown of what's hitting the new release racks at Grimey's
New Releases
The Afghan Whigs - Soft Control CD/LP (BMG)
Brand-new studio album from iconic Ohio rock band The Afghan Whigs. The album contains 10 new songs that feature the band's soulful gritty rock, with frontman Greg Dulli's vocals sounding as emotive and unique as ever. Soft Control features singles "House Of I" and "Duvateen," and comes as the band celebrate their 40th year. [Indie exclusive pink & black smush color vinyl pressing.]
Atta Boy - Silt LP (Many Hats)
The fourth studio album from the indie pop/rock band out of Los Angeles. [Cream color vinyl pressing.]
The Barbarians of California - Megatons CD/LP (Many Hats)
The West Coast's contribution to hardcore punk is undeniable. That tradition of aggression, passion, and scrappy melodicism continues with The Barbarians Of California, an engaging new manifestation of iconoclastic spirit and true bombast. Born from the shared passion of Aaron Bruno (AWOLNATION) and his longtime engineer Eric Stenman, the band released their debut album in 2024. With their second full length, The Barbarians of California are unleashing fresh chaos straight from the sun-soaked, teeth-gnashing heart of the Golden State. Blending raw hardcore energy, razor-sharp riffs, and that signature mix of ferocity and tongue-in-cheek humor, these new songs hit like a caffeine-fueled fever dream. [Vinyl edition shipped late and should arrive next week.]
Black Marble - Life in Small Spaces CD/LP (Sacred Bones)
The first album since 2021 from the project of synthwave artist Chris Stewart sees Stewart reflecting on how underground music has changed over time, and how a blueprint for keeping things simple and being true to oneself is the only ideal for living in this complicated landscape. Life in Small Spaces retains the project's pop-sensibilities while adding new tricks to the bag, trading walls of synths for more guitar, drawing on early American left of the dial college radio staccato guitar lines recalling Pylon, The Necessaries, and R Stevie Moore, and live drum samples, a nod to Wire's simple metronomic style. [Clear orange vinyl pressing.]
Cory Branan - You'll Live CD/LP (Blue Elan Records)
Over a career that has spanned two decades, seven albums, and more than a few vans, Cory Branan has built a reputation as a restless writer dedicated to the exploration of it all, pulling from punk, folk, country, rock, and Southern roots music without settling long enough to claim any one of them as home. "This is an orphanage," says the Memphis native, nodding to a record whose 10 songs were collected over nearly 20 years, each one initially tossed into the archives for not quite fitting whatever album he was making at the time. Taken together, they form a proudly unruly mosaic: fragments of different eras, different impulses, and different versions of the same songwriter.
Clarion - Blue Fairy / Clarion LP (Blue Fairy)
2024 and 2026 EPs from the Los Angeles-based shoegaze/noise pop duo, compiled on one record. 2024 self-titled EP features the viral hit "Hello Juliet." [Wintergreen color vinyl pressing.]
The Clover Valley Boys - The Clover Valley Boys CD (Jalopy)
A favorite trio from the streets and venues of New Orleans as well as festivals like the Brooklyn Folk Fest, this stellar early country and folk group makes its recorded debut with a sound that feels both lively and deeply rooted. The members have been playing together in various projects for years, eventually coming together to form a cohesive group that captivates audiences with harmony singing, tight instrumentals, dance numbers, and an earnest take on old-time music traditions. Their self-titled album draws from the repertoire of country pioneers such as The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, alongside remarkable rediscoveries from obscure regional 78 recordings
Dan + Shay - Young LP (Warner Nashville)
The brand new 10-track album from 3x Grammy-winning and multi-platinum selling superstars, Dan + Shay. Featuring their timely and powerful single, "Say So," Young serves as a personal snapshot into the lives of the duo's Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney as they've navigated family, faith, and following dreams during one of the most prolific seasons of their storied 12+ year career. [Chalkboard green vinyl pressing.]
Deathgrave - Hell is Evil CD/LP (Tankcrimes)
The Bay Area’s grindcore fanatics bend a throng of genres into a unique 3rd full length album. Deathgrave expands their unmistakable brand of grind adding musical stylings of death, thrash, punk, industrial, doom, noise rock, and dbeat into a seamless concoction. Escape this dreadful reality for 32 minutes and dive head first into Deathgrave’s most ambitious album to date. The riffs are thick enough to keep you afloat. Shared member with the legendary Autopsy and Brainoil. [Purple vinyl pressing.]
Eartheater - Heavenly Body: If I'm the Bottle You're the Message LP (Mad Decent)
Eartheater's seventh album is as personal as it is universal. Exploring the pregnant body as a vessel for something greater than itself, it's an intimate look at what it means to carry and birth another human. A mix of dance lullabies, post-wave bangers, prismatic anthems, and stadium-stretching art-pop, Heavenly Body offers a new chapter in Drewchin's already deep discography. While it's the singular experience of one woman, versatile composer, singer, producer, and multi - instrumentalist, Alexandra Drewchin, Heavenly Body explores the feelings other people have experienced, in other ways, without having to be a parent. [Indie exclusive red vinyl pressing.]
ENHYPEN - The Sin : Bliss LP (Belift Lab)
The 8th Mini Album from the South Korean boy band. [Indie exclusive canary yellow vinyl pressing.]
Brandon Flowers - Thrasher CD/LP/cassette (Island)
The first solo album in over a decade from the Killers frontman. Recorded in Nashville at Historic RCA Studio A with longtime producers Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado, Thrasher features many of Music City's most renowned players, including longtime Gillian Welch collaborator David Rawlings on guitar, prolific and influential pedal steel player Bruce Bouton, and Charlie McCoy, the legendary harmonica player whose signature playing graces all four of Bob Dylan's iconic Nashville records. Rooted in his formative childhood years in the small town of Nephi, Utah, the timeless sonic approach proves to be the ideal home for Flowers' most personal and vulnerable songwriting yet. [Indie exclusive "ground red" color vinyl pressing.]
French Film - Yours + Five LP (Solid Brass)
French Film are turning heads in Austin, TX. Their new compilation features ten tracks chock full of atmospheric, shoegaze driven melodies combined with abrasive and jarring tension. Recorded with Kevin Butler at Test Tube Audio, this record touches on the juxtaposition of the horrors and hopes of modern society as well as matters of the heart. For fans of Autolux, Sonic Youth, Unwound, and Blonde Redhead. [Ruby red color vinyl pressing.]
GB - Herzsprung LP (AD 93)
Written while living in London, Copenhagen-based songwriter and producer GB spent weeks cutting up copies of Metro — one of the city’s free newspapers — to form the lyrical foundation of the songs. In makeshift studios, he began bringing these ideas to life. Where GB’s debut record was shrouded in a downtempo haze, Herzsprung creates a distinct sound that pushes outward: something more melodic, more full-throated, and more assured. The album draws together a wide spectrum of influences; from the groove-driven fusion jazz of the 1970s to Japanese noise-rock psychedelia, anthemic grunge, and outsider pop. There are traces of the alt-pop qualities that GB shares with his Copenhagen peers, but you hear London’s influence too, an urge to stretch rock tradition and break with form.
Giraffe - The Towering Inferno with Bongo Drums LP (Org Music)
Giraffe is the new collaboration from Dave Harrington (Darkside), Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars), Spencer Zahn, and Kosta Galanopoulos (Rio Kosta). Their debut album channels spacey psychedelia, jazz-informed interplay, and open-ended improvisation into a fluid, exploratory listen. Recorded in a single day at 64 Sound in Los Angeles, the album captures four accomplished musicians locking into an instinctive groove. [Red vinyl pressing.]
Guiding Light - Fear on My Own Time LP (Post Present Medium)
The instrumental branch of Guiding Light had already prepared their first batch of songs when they approached Elise Cook to sing, who, miraculously, had lyrics ready to go. That moment of kismet led to their first EP, a frenzied eleven minutes and fifty seconds that defined their post-punk sound for the culturally curious. Now Cook's melodies are born in the same room as the precise jangle of John Morales' guitar, the sharp-toothed bass of Rachel Kirk, and the pounding intensity of Charles Powell on the drums. The result is Fear On My Own Time, a new album by a band who knows what they're good at and keep getting better. The narrative of Fear On My Own Time expands in scope as reflections on a breakup lead to revelations on human connection.
hey, nothing - Hound CD/LP (Interscope)
hey, nothing is the Athens, GA-based emo-folk duo of Tyler Mabry and Harlow Phillips. Hound is their debut full-length album. [Vinyl shipped late and should arrive next week.]
Robyn Hitchcock - The Confuser LP (Glowing Green Frog)
In his sixth decade as a singer, songwriter, and musician, Robyn Hitchcock manages to still illuminate and mystify, bemuse and philosophize, unlike any other before or since. Hitchcock's 25th solo studio album, and first collection of all-new original songs in close to four years, sees the legendary British art rocker operating at the peak of his substantial powers on a dazzlingly dynamic collection of typically perceptive new songs that traverse familiar signposts near and dear to his creative heart - the significance of love, the mysteries of the cosmos, and all the abstract accidents that happen between the luck of birth and the bitter end. [Lime green vinyl pressing. Also available on black vinyl.]
Taylor Hollingsworth - Folk n' Roll LP (Dial Back Sound)
Birmingham, Alabama's Taylor Hollingsworth has always resisted easy categorization. Asked to define his music, he struggled - a little bit folk, a touch of blues, a dash of rock 'n' roll, but not quite fitting neatly into any single box. Eventually, he coined the phrase "Folk n' Roll" to describe his sound. Now, he's proudly claiming that sound with his latest album, aptly titled "Folk n' Roll." Fans of JJ Cale, Mississippi John Hurt, Chuck Berry, Richard Thompson, Jonathan Richman, and John Prine will find much delight in Hollingsworth's blend of timeless influences.
Julia Holter - Materia CD/LP (Domino)
Julia Holter always knew that there were many forms her song "Materia" could take. The tune's dynamic Hildegard von Bingen-inspired melody and dense modal chords stood on their own without a complex arrangement on her wondrous 2024 album Something in the Room She Moves, but she felt a lingering desire to expand the texture and stretch out the harmony. On her new album Materia, a kind of companion LP to Something, Holter has realized not one but two distinct versions of the song. "Materia 2" is a hallucinatory dream of drum machines, fretless bass, and clarinet, Holter's voice spiraling through ether alongside that of Jessika Kenney. Materia is only seven tracks long, but Holter works in nearly that many modes here, showing that Holter is among her generation's most fluid writers of art-pop, moving among ideas and idioms with true exploratory aplomb. There are two astounding improvisations, one where she builds a one-person ensemble of drum machines and synth lines and another where she manipulates her voice until each word seems to contain another symphony. Materia is a kind of playground for Holter, where each distinct scene steadily coheres into a moving whole.
Ray Wylie Hubbard - Reel 2 Reel 4 Real CD/LP (Wylie World)
The latest album from the outlaw poet/down-home-country-blues songwriter. Reel 2 Reel 4 Real marks Hubbard’s return after a two-album major-label joyride on Nashville’s Big Machine Records. “You know, a lot of artists when they put out a record, they go, ‘This is the best record I’ve done up to this point,’” the Americana legend considers sagely after a pause, “but I’m not going to say this is the best record I’ve done. I’ll say it’s the best record I’ve ever heard.” [Indie exclusive gray vinyl pressing.]
Hulder - Verbolgen LP (20 Buck Spin)
Answering the call of the ancestral fires and forest spirits, Hulder returns with its third full length statement. Over the course of those three albums, Hulder has evolved from the vision of a solitary black metal entity into something more expansive and collaborative, though still guided by the strident vision of its creator and namesake. On Verbolgen, long-time session member Necreon steps forward to join Hulder as full-fledged co-conspirator, amplifying the duos sweeping solemnity. Verbolgen deepens Hulder's characteristic balance of scathing black metal and windswept melancholy through increasingly layered arrangements and ritualistic atmosphere.
Improvement Movement - Your Perfect Real Life CD (ATO Records)
Improvement Movement have quickly emerged as one of Atlantla's most promising bands. Blending folk & psych-rock of bands like Grizzly Bear and Animal Collective while calling to mind prog pioneers Yes and Genesis along with groups like CSNY, the quartet add indie and experimental textures to a classic harmony-heavy sound. Your Perfect Real Life is the band's 2nd album and comes on the heels of a US tour with Iron & Wine.
Keb' Mo' - The Breakdown CD/LP (Concord)
Five-time Grammy-winner Keb' Mo' is a living legend in the Blues space. He has been consistently releasing beautiful, well produced records for 30 years. The Breakdown finds him in a new, more intimate space. This record narrows the spotlight on Keb' and his songwriting skills. Aside from two tracks that have guest vocals from Take 6 and the Soweto Gospel Choir, the rest of the album is focused on Keb' and his guitar. [Red eco-blend vinyl pressing.]
Lambchop - Punching the Clown CD/LP (Merge)
To hear Kurt Wagner tell it, Punching the Clown - the seventeenth album by beloved shapeshifting Nashville institution Lambchop - began as a ghost hunt. After hearing a song on the radio while driving one night - "a minimal single chord strummed banjo and a small group of voices" - he went looking for it and failed. In his pursuit, he discovered "lined-out singing, " a form of acapella call-and-response gospel singing that began in Scotland in the 1800s and became a root of American gospel and country music when Scottish immigrants settled in Appalachia. Wagner wanted to make a record that emulated this kind of music. Wagner says that doing so required him to become a better songwriter. The process was a crucible. [Indie exclusive transparent cream vinyl pressing.]
Carín León - Muda CD (Socios Music)
Carín León breaks the mold with Muda, a bold, shape shifting sonic exploration that expands his universe across genres while staying rooted in his unmistakable DNA. León leads a new wave of regional Mexican, blending tradition with emotional openness. The 14-track Muda reflects constant transformation, exploring genres and collaborating with Rawayana and Juanes, pushing his roots forward as a fearless, genre defying statement.
Sondre Lerche - Acrobats LP (Sondre Lerche)
Indie-pop auteur Sondre Lerche returns with his boldest and most timely work to date. Acrobats explores the theme of finding love in dystopian times of global unrest and despair. This sprawling, colorful and limitless body of work examines living in a world where sincerity and tenderness feel like acts of defiance. [Transparent red vinyl pressing.]
Mad Honey - Bridge Over Cumberland LP (Deathwish)
Bridge Over Cumberland by OKC rock band Mad Honey is a textured, contemplative album, marked by story-driven lyrics, eerie atmospheric dronings, and swirling guitar tones. Their sophomore effort marks a bold tonal shift, as the band ventures beyond their Shoegaze and dream-pop origins, weaving in indie-folk influences. The 11 tracks play like a road trip through the south, staring out the window, contemplating the past, and speeding forward towards an uncertain future. [Indie exclusive half black / half clear vinyl pressing.]
Minyo Crusaders - From Japan with Love CD/LP (Blue Note)
Minyo Crusaders rework traditional Japanese folk songs (minyo) with Latin, African and Caribbean rhythms to create some of the most infectious music between South America and Japan. The punchy and inventive arrangements of this ten-piece big band breathe new life into these traditional working-class folk songs", and the band have received high acclaims from NPR", The Guardian", The Times and many others.
Elanor Moss - The Knife, the Needle CD/LP (Merge Records)
Debut album from the London-based folk singer-songwriter. Across the nine songs that make up The Knife, The Needle, Moss renders joy and pain in exquisite peals of psych-folk, offering an understanding of healing as a process rather than an object one obtains. Written over three years as she recalibrated her relationship with songwriting, therapy, and her family history, the album returns to “the music that made me really feel something; the music I wanted to be writing.” In its quieter, weirder, more English sound, Moss captures something fleeting, ephemeral, and honest about the moments in which love, for good or ill, irrevocably changes someone.
Ian Munsick - The Mountain Goat CD/LP (Triple Tigers)
Fourth studio album from the country singer-songwriter out of Wyoming.
Stephen O'Malley - Avaeken LP (Ideologic Organ)
Two sides of immense, immersive, self-annihilating music from the American experimental composer and member of Sunn O))). The record preserves site-specific work: O’Malley installed Avaeken as part of Wish You Were Here, the exhibition by renowned American artist Banks Violette, underscoring the tension between presence and absence, life and loss. Avaeken presents power and phenomena: lowfrequency vibrations, deep oscillations, and phase cancellations that translate as innately effective in any environment.
Grace Potter - Trespasser CD/LP (Mother Road)
With her new album Trespasser, Grace Potter introduces a beautifully unruly cast of characters who step into forbidden spaces with absolute abandon. As the spiritual sequel to 2023's Mother Road, the four-time Grammy nominee's seventh studio LP continues the kaleidoscopic storyline shaped by her many road trips from her Topanga Canyon home to her part-time residence in her native Vermont (a journey she's made eight times in the last five years, usually on her own). But while Mother Road was born from a desperate need for solace in the midst of emotional freefall, Trespasser reveals an artist firmly anchored in her singular vision. [Indie exclusive translucent light blue vinyl pressing.]

As Threadgill states, “each time we come together to perform, it seems brand new… We’ve got three composers here. Every time the music changes, it holds up a different world, because it’s coming from a different place—because of each one of us, [and] our different approaches to composition.”

Brennan Wedl - Brennan Wedl CD/LP (Anti-)
Brennan Wedl's self-titled album and debut for Anti- is a testament to collaboration, with old selves, the selves yet-to-be and the friends helping you along the way. It's an anthology of spiritual awakening that sizes up the road ahead, encapsulating the messes and triumphs when leaving a traditional path for something less steady. On her latest record, she shakes off the prying eyes of expectation, leaving behind the anxiety of forming yourself for others and welcoming in the delight of finally being exactly who you are. Wedl enlisted Katie Crutchfield (Waxahatchee) and Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Hurray for the Riff Raff) to co-produce and play on the album, with instrumentalists Colin Croom, Lindsey Jordan and Matt McCaughan also sprinkled throughout. Together, they formed a middle ground between punk, grunge and Americana - 'grungetry' as they affectionately call it - capturing all tracks within a 10 day stay at Cook's studio in Durham, NC.
Weezer - Weezer (gold album) CD/LP/cassette (Reprise)
The new Weezer album is hands-down the band's most collaborative. They all took turns contributing songs; they all took turns writing ON songs together. Produced by Kenneth Blume and Klas Ahlund, Weezer is already shaping up to be another standout in the band's incredible, timeless catalog following the release of recent acclaimed single "Shine Again." Features Karly Hartzman of Wednesday on "We Might as Well Be Strangers." [Indie exclusive gold vinyl pressing.]
Westside Cowboy - It Goes On LP (Island)
The debut album from Manchester-based four-piece Westside Cowboy, produced by Loren Humphrey. [Indie exclusive red vinyl pressing.]
Wild Pink - Still Coming Down LP (Fire Talk)
Still Coming Down is Wild Pink's sixth studio album, and their most refined offering to-date. Continuing along the shredded and steely path forged by 2024's Dulling The Horns - named one of the year's best albums by Vogue, Consequence, Paste and more - Still Coming Down doubles down on Wild Pink's "proper Rock" (Stereogum, Best Albums of 2024) and sticks every landing. Still Coming Down finishes out the ride of those highs, settling into a life on the road and reflecting these experiences across a warped and encyclopedic vision of America. Led by John Ross, "one of the best lyricists in indie music" (The Guardian), Wild Pink hunkered down in Asheville's storied Drop of Sun Studios to record Still Coming Down with virtuosic producer Alex Farrar (Bnny, Wednesday, Samia). At once strange and familiar, Wild Pink's Still Coming Down is a product of modern times that only John Ross could pen. [Midnight blue vinyl pressing.]
Finn Wolfhard - Fire from the Hip CD/LP (Night Shift Productions)
Following last year's critically acclaimed debut solo album from Finn Wolfhard, Happy Birthday, the historic global finale of Stranger Things, and Finn's widely shared and lauded Saturday Night Live Hosting appearance in January. This record represents a definitive "hi-fi" evolution for Finn, moving from the raw, 16mm-aesthetic of his Happy Birthday, to a broader, 35mm-fidelity sound. Inspired by pivotal rock albums like Exile on Main Street and Beggars Banquet, Finn is leaning into a more expansive, collaborative sound on this record. The music is upbeat, guitar-driven, and captures the lightning-in-a-bottle energy of his live band. [Indie exclusive "half moon" baby blue and white vinyl pressing.]
YHWH Nailgun - Magazine CD/LP (4AD)
An eleven-minute blast of raw, unrelenting intensity. Ten songs capture what the band describes as "quick bursts" of brilliance pulled from improvisation and instinct. Stripping back the abstraction of their acclaimed debut 45 Pounds, the New York four-piece sharpen their sound into something skeletal, visceral, and eerily direct, balancing chaos with instinctive precision. Magazine captures the band at their most immediate, fleeting bursts of noise, tension, and dark spiritual imagery that hit like a transmission from another realm.

The Cramps - Gravest Gravy CD/LP (Vengeance)
In October 1977, the Cramps ventured into Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee with producer and Cramps translator extraordinaire, Alex Chilton. The band had planned on recording their song ‘TV Set,’ as an A side, along with another track or tracks. Mr. Chilton told them the way he liked to work was to have a band record a lot of songs and from that they would pick the best of the bunch. Five tracks taken from these legendary sessions were featured on the band's first two 7" releases and the Gravest Hits EP. Almost 50 years later, Larry Hardy, owner and operator of In The Red Records, rappelled down, deep into the vast, sunless vault of the Cramps tape collection, and resurfaced hours later, disoriented and out of breath, but overjoyed with what he’d returned to topside with: six ¼” reels of tracks, mixed by Lux Interior and Poison Ivy. Now these seminal recordings are available for all to hear for the first time. [Color vinyl pressing.]

Various Artists - J Jazz: Deep Modern Jazz From Japan Vol. 5 2xCD/3xLP (BBE)

These hand-picked selections sit alongside other specially chosen numbers that embrace hard-driving samba (Seiichi Nakumura's Judy's Samba), epic head-nodding soul jazz (Masaru Imada's World Line), psychedelic private press fusion (Aoyama Gakuin 101's Fervor), angular post-bop tear-ups (Akira Miyazawa's Nijimasu), intense and insistent fusion (Motohiko Hino's Olive Step), serene cinematic pianism (Hideo Ichikawa's On the Trade Wind) and tripped-out hallucinogenic tribal funky jazz (Masahiko Sato's Garandoh's Africa to Africa).
Skip James - Devil Got My Woman LP (Craft Recordings)
With his eerie, keening vocals and minor-tuned guitar, no other bluesman sounds quite like Skip James. This is perfectly encapsulated on his 1968 Vanguard Records solo release, Devil Got My Woman. The Blues Foundation hails the title track as "the quintessential Skip James song." Released in partnership with Acoustic Sounds, the album has been (AAA) remastered from the original tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
Mark Jenkin - The Rose of Nevada O.S.T. LP (Invada)
The score to the new film from the BAFTA Award winning director, editor, screenwriter, cinematographer and musician. Unique among British feature filmmakers for the analogue way in which he crafts his films - all three feature films have been shot on 16mm using a Bolex clockwork camera - as well as his multifaceted roles as the writer, director, director of photography and editor of the film, once more he is responsible for handling the sound design and composing the original score. The new score mirrors the techniques employed in the film, with analogue synthesisers drawing the listener intonebulous hypnotic tones and delicate movements. Composed, produced, engineered and performed by Mark Jenkin using synthesiser, guitar, percussion and loops & effects, the environmental recordings remind us of the context in which the music was originally borne, but as the score ebbs and flows between ambient tranquil seas and crashing storms, it affirms its presence as a powerful stand-alone piece of work.
Robert Earl Keen - Live from Austin, TX 2xLP (New West)
Keen has long been considered one of the leaders of a new generation of Texas singer-songwriters, an artist whose edgy rebelliousness - much like Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Willie Nelson before him - has never quite fit country music's mainstream, which is exactly why he stands out. Recorded on August 22, 2001, Live From Austin, TX captures Robert Earl Keen during the most recent of his five appearances on Austin City Limits - a truly remarkable performance showcasing his artistry and songwriting at full strength. This 17-track set moves through catalog highlights including "Shades of Gray, " "I'm Goin' to Town, " "The Road Goes On Forever, " "Merry Christmas From the Family, " "Snowin' on Raton, " and "Feelin' Good Again, " covering the full range of what makes Keen essential - road-worn humor, plainspoken heartbreak, and characters drawn with uncommon specificity. [Indie exclusive red, white, and blue splatter vinyl pressing.]

Peel was an early supporter, playing their record as soon as it landed on his desk-a moment the band described as one of disbelief and elation. His regular airplay of their music helped solidify their cult status, and these sessions capture the raw energy, off-kilter melodies, and boundary-pushing creativity that defined them.
