New Releases
Yaya Bey - Do It Afraid LP (Drink Sum WTR)
"Suffering is promised to us all, but so is joy. You have to find peace in that duality," says Yaya Bey, who commits to life's delight - humor, love, the power of human movement and connection - even if she has to do it afraid. With her new album, which follows a run of critically acclaimed releases and marks her debut on art-forward indie label drink sum wtr, the Queens, New York singer-songwriter thrives across uplifting, effervescent material. A rejection of past narratives projected onto her, 'do it afraid' finds Bey reclaiming her story with resolutely fun, full-hearted, and nuanced songs that pull from R&B, hip-hop, jazz, soul, and dance music, including the soca stylings of her family's Bajan roots. Do it afraid celebrates all sides of Yaya as part of a collective lifeforce that doesn't subscribe to fear but to the moments that move us.
Garry Burnside - It’s My Time Now CD/LP (Strolling Bones)
“I recorded this album five years ago. I spent most of my career playing bass or guitar with other bands, so it feels amazing to say this will be my first album being released with all of my own music on it. Coming up under my pops (R.L. Burnside) and Junior Kimbrough, I learned so much. This album really is a testament to them, what they taught me, and my growth as a musician. I hope it makes them proud.”
Kent Burnside - Hill Country Blood CD/LP (Strolling Bones)
Hill Country Blood is Kent Burnside’s electrifying commercial debut, carrying forward the legacy of his grandfather, R.L. Burnside, while carving out his own distinct voice in the blues world. Kent infuses his sound with a fiery dose of Blues-Rock energy and boldly reshapes the genre by blending the deep, hypnotic rhythms of Hill Country Blues with the raw energy of Blues-Rock, the soulful spirit of the Delta, and the urban grit of Chicago. The album features eight original tracks alongside powerful covers of John Lee Hooker’s Crawling King Snake and Junior Kimbrough’s You Better Run. With Kent on guitar and vocals, Garry Burnside on bass, Jake Best on drums, and Damian Pearson (aka Yella P of Memphisissippi) adding soulful harmonica, Hill Country Blood is a high-energy, deeply authentic blues experience that honors the past while charging into the future.
Caamp - By and By LP (Mom+Pop)
Caamp formed when childhood friends Taylor Meier and Evan Westfall bonded over a shared love for Ohio and music. Their self-titled debut (2016) exceeded 52 million plays and climbed the Spotify charts. Thereafter, Caamp toured with Rainbow Kitten Surprise, headlined the US, released Boys EP (2K sold) and added a third member, Matt Vinson. The band has built their grassroots audience from touring all over the world. By & By was co-produced by Josh Block and Austin Jenkins (Leon Bridges, White Denim) at Ft. Worth's Niles City Sound. The much-awaited album By and By includes key tracks "Penny Heads Up", "No Sleep", "By and By" and "Peach Fuzz".
Chevelle - Bright As Blasphemy CD/LP (BMG)

[Indie exclusive translucent ruby red with black & white splatter vinyl.]
Chicago Underground Duo - Hyperglyph CD/LP (International Anthem)
Hyperglyph is the first new album in 11 years from composer/trumpeter/synthesist Rob Mazurek and composer/percussionist Chad Taylor’s long-running Chicago Underground Duo project. Mazurek and Taylor have played music together in a multitude of formations over nearly three decades, including their ongoing partnership in Mazurek’s large-format-skyward-expressionism vehicle Exploding Star Orchestra, in the expanded Chicago Underground Trio, Quartet and Orchestra (all with guitarist Jeff Parker), as well as a plethora of other assemblages. The early albums by the Duo have proven to be embryonic blueprints for the avant-jazz / electronic / indie rock hybridizing of the time, making them majorly important moments in the articulation of the “jazz” dimensionality of the then-burgeoning "post rock" sound. That sound, of course, was being transmitted far and wide due to the success of these groups as well as the Mazurek/Parker project Isotope 217, and the Chicago Underground’s frequently-intersecting collaborators in Tortoise. Just as most of the still-working projects born of that era have evolved, reconfigured, and grown, the Chicago Underground Duo has undergone a number of musical moltings, with the project always in the background of disparate individual aural investigations. The concurrent personal evolutions of Mazurek and Taylor as the Duo project drops off and picks back up makes it a true reflection of their own lives and friendship.
Jordan Davis - Learn the Hard Way CD/2xLP (MCA Nashville)
Award-winning, multiplatinum singer-songwriter Jordan Davis presents his highly anticipated new album, Learn the Hard Way. Features 17 tracks, including "I Ain't Sayin'," "Know You Like That," and "Bar None." The new album is the follow-up to Davis' platinum-selling breakthrough album, Bluebird Days, which produced four consecutive No. 1 singles ("What My World Spins Around," "Tucson Too Late," "Buy Dirt" and "Next Thing You Know") and two Song of the Year-winning tracks "Next Thing You Know" (ACM) and "Buy Dirt" (CMA and NSAI) off of one album - the first artist in history to ever do that. The single release also comes on the heels of his latest album, Bluebird Days, officially going platinum, joining his previously certified platinum-selling debut album, Home State.
Ryan Davis & The Roadhouse Band - New Threats from the Soul 2xLP (Sophomore Lounge)
“If you don’t know it yet, it’s my privilege to tell you that Ryan Davis is one of the greatest songwriters of his generation. Bold instinct immediately insists that I lose the qualifications: he’s the greatest of his generation, he’s one of the greatest ever. Whatever. Posterity—if there is a posterity—will sort it out. Happily, New Threats from the Soul has beaten the Doomsday Clock to the wire, and we appear to have a little while left to revel in it, receive its revelations, and be revealed by it. New Threats from the Soul is a masterclass in reducing the sublime to the prosaic, immensity to infinitesimality, and vice versa (the trick can only work both ways). Everything in our universe is essentially flotsam or jetsam, rubbish heaps of fragments and shards, a “pile of voodoo dolls and iron scrap in the backyard for the meek to inherit.” We, especially, are jerry-rigs of bubblegum and driftwood, inconsistencies and incoherencies, dead dreams and necrophagous hopes, “mismeasurements between the place where [we are] and the place where [we] could have been,” although somehow not—miracle of miracles—bereft of simple joys. The record functions in parallel with Kafka’s winking dictum that there is an infinite amount of hope in the universe, just not for us. At least, I would venture for coldest comfort, not as we have constituted ourselves. When Ryan has the penny slot yell “‘What even am I, by god?’” toward the high stakes room, the soul chills and thrills at being so seen. New Threats suggests that maybe, just maybe, something like redemption is possible, but only once we’re entirely emptied out and hawked in toto down at Walden Pawn.” – Nathan Salsburg, April 2025
Alison Goldfrapp - Flux CD/LP (A.G. Records)
Alison Goldfrapp's return isn't just a next chapter-it's an artistic rebirth. With the arrival of her second solo album Flux on August 15, the pop icon charts a shimmering new path: bold, vulnerable, and wholly her own. Backed by a legacy of critically acclaimed releases and global acclaim, Flux is poised to be another high-water mark in one of pop's most visionary careers.. Built with sonic architect Richard X and synth-pop mastermind Stefan Storm, Flux pushes beyond 2023's The Love Invention into something more expansive and emotionally resonant. [Indie exclusive purple vinyl.]
Conan Gray - Wishbone CD/LP (Republic)
Wishbone, the fourth album by Conan Gray. The Black Cat Edition LP includes a black vinyl and 16x20" poster featuring an exclusive photo of Conan and Wishbone the Cat.
Steve Gunn - Music for Writers CD/LP (Three Lobed)
Steve Gunn’s compositions, from either his instrumental or vocal-accompanied work, have always been studies in tension. “Music for Writers”, the first Gunn album under only his name since 2021, takes those studies to a new level. It is an instrumental album based around guitar, synths and more, it leads the listener to tightly and deeply focus on minute changes and variations in style. It is a masterpiece in fragile, small-scale world-building that occupies a unique space within Gunn's wider discography. Composed and recorded during Gunn’s time at the Pedvale Art Residency in Latvia, the tracks result from Gunn pairing new audio to the experiences in the area surrounding the compound and photography he took while on the grounds. The results range from the wistfully evocative and inquisitive “Park Entrance” to the inviting and exploratory “Pedvale Sunrise”. This listener keeps getting pulled into the entrancing gravitational pull of “Slow Singers On The Hill”.
Will Hoge - Sweet Misery CD/LP (Edlo Records)
Will Hoge releases Sweet Misery, the Grammy-nominated artist's 15th studio album. On Sweet Misery, Hoge reminds listeners that he isn't afraid to break new ground - all while giving a keen nod to his rock and roll roots with the kind of grace and purpose that only comes with experience - without the baggage of predictability.
Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley - Living In A Song LP (Compass)
American roots music has seen it's fair share of beloved duos over the years from The Monroe Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs to modern-day pairs like Milk Carton Kids and The War and Treaty but few leave audiences as amazed as Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley. Built on the interplay of Ickes's Dobro and Hensley's six-string guitar, the only thing outshining the virtuosity of this group's instrumental performances is their singing and songwriting prowess. Living In A Song features ten co-written tunes that focus on a classic country sound and serve as an in-depth look at the wonderful interplay between two masters of their craft.
Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz 2xLP (Deadair)

Patty Loveless - Sleepless Nights LP (Starvista Music)
Sleepless Nights is Patty's homage to the classic country hits of the 50s, 60s and 70s. As always, Patty Loveless connects with listeners, singing about their joys and sorrows. She personally selected each song, country classics first made popular by George Jones, Hank Locklin, Porter Wagoner, Webb Pierce, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Conway Twitty. Born and bred country, Pattys pure crooning on these favorites is yearning and melancholy, enhanced only by sparse accompaniment. [Indie exclusive denim blue vinyl.]
Maroon 5 - Love Is Like CD/LP (Interscope)
The highly anticipated 8th studio album from Maroon 5, Love Is Like. Featuring the percussive, jazz-chord daydream hit “Priceless” ft. LISA, and the new sax-laced, slap-bass funk-pop single “All Night,” Maroon 5 has expanded their instantly recognizable sound with a hooky and dynamic new sonically ambitious album. [Indie exclusive electric blue vinyl with signed insert.]
Cass McCombs - Interior Live Oak CD/LP (Domino)
Interior Live Oak draws from everything Cass has created over two decades of experimentation to cut through with a direct and clarifying light. Throughout, his attitude is hopeful, which may sound odd for someone who often sings about the more extreme aspects of modern life. Interior Live Oak, however, is the resolve of someone who has lived those extremes. Named after a tree species native to Northern California, the album sees McCombs incorporate the more economical song structures of his prime material with the help of some of his earliest musical cohorts, including Jason Quever (Papercuts) and Chris Cohen. McCombs recorded much of the new material in the Bay Area, not far from where they had cut their musical teeth (as documented on last year's archival release, Seed Cake On Leap Year). Additional recording in New York City brought with it contributions from other perennial collaborators such as Matt Sweeney and Mike Bones.
Bret McKenzie - Freak Out City CD/LP (Sub Pop)
Bret McKenzie is a Grammy and Academy Award winning artist most well known for his band Flight of the Conchords and their eponymous television show. McKenzie is internationally renowned for singing and writing funny, strange, and unique songs primarily for film and television. Bret's songs have been sung by Kermit the Frog, Celine Dion, Lizzo, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brittany Howard, Homer and Lisa Simpson, Fred Armisan, Miss Piggy, Amy Adams, Jason Segal, Ricky Gervais, Benee, Isabela Merced, Spongebob Squarepants, Tony Bennett, Mickey Rooney, and more. Now he is releasing his second solo record, Freak Out City, made up of songs developed while on the road with his eight-piece band. Freak Out City was recorded in both Los Angeles and New Zealand, and co-produced by Bret and his long time collaborator Mickey Petralia. It was mixed by Michael Harris in Los Angeles at East West Studios. The musicians on the record are a mix of Los Angeles players Leland Sklar, Dean Parks, Drew Erickson, Chis Caswell, Joey Waronker and New Zealand musicians Ben Lemi, Leo Coghini, Jacqui Nyman, Moana Leota, Iris Little, Justin Clarke. [Limited edition blue & white Loser edition vinyl.]
Pile - Sunshine and Balance Beams CD/LP/Cassette (Sooper Records)
Sunshine and Balance Beams, Pile's ninth album, is a Sisyphean parable concerned with labor and living. To write it, singer Rick Maguire inhabited "a dark place," wrestling with the concept that there is no enlightenment, no end to suffering. Maguire explores workaholism, the myth of meritocracy, and acceptance of mortality-all through a devilish allegory of trudging through a shadowy forest towards the uncertain dream of a bright clearing. Pile wrestles with existential and social contradictions by evoking sonic in-betweens. The music exists somewhere in the temporary equilibrium of light and shadow, chaos and order. Heated rain-like guitars, shifting drums that pave sinuous roads in sound and pace, eerie synths, and aqueous strings add to a panoramic production of loud-quiet dynamism matching the emotionality of the band's thunderous performances. The group also favored freewheeling performances that would animate the storytelling, while enlisting a string section (violins, viola, cello) to perform incandescent, through-composed arrangements co-written by cellist Eden Rayz and Pile. They drew inspiration from cinema and opera scores by Chopin, Bernard Herrmann, and Ralph Vaughan Williams, lending Sunshine a larger-than-life sound that intensifies Pile's blistering realizations of some of their most accessible songwriting to date. The recording is a noticeable leap in production value, and centers Maguire's vocals in new and exciting ways. Pile traveled to Pawtucket, RI for two weeks of tracking at Machines with Magnets with longtime engineer Miranda Serra (Kal Marks, Kira McSpice). The album was mixed by Seth Manchester (Lightning Bolt, Mdou Moctar), and Mastered by Matt Colton (Aphex Twin, Swans, Muse). Sunshine and Balance Beams is Pile's first album for Chicago's Sooper Records. [Limited edition translucent purple vinyl.]
Primus - Little Lord Fentanyl b/w Duchess 7-inch (ATO)
In the course of Primus' epic, interstellar drum derby, John Hoffman was the only one who chose to play "Duchess (and the Proverbial Mind Spread)." "My favorite to have to learn was 'Mind Spread,'" he said in his audition. His preparation paid off in the studio and was soon pressure-tested on the road. "He's the only one that picked it, and he f***ing killed it," said Les Claypool. John's command of the song and the chemistry with the band can be heard on this new live recording from Philadelphia, PA. This limited-edition 7" single is pressed on white vinyl and includes the track, "Little Lord Fentanyl," featuring Puscifer.
Rigby on the Run - Rug Rally 12" (Studio Bahoo)
Rigby On The Run presents Rug Rally on Vienna's Studio Bahöö, blending UKG grooves, grainy breakbeat, and off-grid soundsystem experimentation. Built on instinct and late-night energy, the tracks lurch, glide, and hum with low-end pressure and emotional weight. No face, no origin story-just raw motion and mood.
Rise Against - Ricochet CD/LP (Loma Vista)
Rise Against return with new album Ricochet, their most resounding and reinvigorating music to date. Twelve songs, produced by GRAMMY-winner Catherine Marks and mixed by Alan Moulder, these punk rock pathfinders find a world of constant stimuli, algorithms intended to aggravate and divide. They ask fans to consider who ultimately benefits from this collective division and displeasure. An album massive in sound but centered around the small parts of the psyche that lead to the biggest positive change. [Indie exclusive orange vinyl.]
Tres Leches - The Smooth Sounds of Tres Leches LHCC Mart Vol. 1 LP (Brainfeeder)
What started out a joke for a truly demented promotional campaign became so much more…originally envisioned as the soundtrack to an imaginary supermarket in the album promo for Hiatus Kaiyote’s “Love Heart Cheat Code”, these sultry and sensual renditions of Hiatus Kaiyote classics soon took a life of their own. And thus was born Tres Leches, a trio of heart wrenching troubadours who aren’t afraid to turn the lights down low and set the mood to “sexy”. Lovingly recorded and mixed in various hotel rooms on off days of a North American tour, these raunchy re-imaginings of Hiatus Kaiyote’s back catalogue are certain to stir the passions, ignite the senses and soothe the savage beast within.
Molly Tuttle - So Long Little Miss Sunshine CD/LP (Nonesuch)
Following back-to-back Grammy-winning albums with her band Golden Highway, along with a Best New Artist nomination, Molly Tuttle releases her new solo album, So Long Little Miss Sunshine, on August 15, 2025 via Nonesuch Records. Recorded in Nashville with producer Jay Joyce (Orville Peck, Miranda Lambert, Lainey Wilson), the fifth full album from the singer, songwriter, and virtuoso guitarist marks a sonic departure from her recent work and features twelve new songs-eleven originals and one cover, of Icona Pop and Charli xcx's "I Love It. "On her new album-a hybrid of pop, country, rock, and flat-picking, plus one murder ballad-Tuttle goes to a whole new place. Her virtuoso guitar work takes center stage on this album more than ever, and for the first time, she introduces her banjo playing into two of her recordings. "I like to be a bit of a chameleon with my music. Keep people guessing and keep it full of surprises, " she says. So Long Little Miss Sunshine was recorded with drummer/percussionists Jay Bellerose and Fred Eltringham, bassist Byron House, and Joyce on multiple instruments. Ketch Secor (Old Crow Medicine Show) also plays banjo, fiddle, and harmonica, as well as singing harmony; much of the LP was co-written with Secor, who is also Tuttle's partner. [Indie exclusive pink vinyl.]

In 1996, three years after the Leaders of the New School unofficially disbanded, Busta Rhymes delivered his debut album. The Coming features his classic debut single "Woo Hah!! (Got You All in Check)" which made it abundantly clear he was to be mentioned among Hip Hop's greatest solo artists. The album features production by Easy Mo Bee, DJ Scratch, Q-Tip, and J Dilla. Songs such as "Everything Remains Raw", "Abandon Ship", and "Still Shining" all rise above as The Coming 's stand-out tracks, but "Ill Vibe" is the album's crown jewel moment. Busta sounds right at home over this J Dilla beat, trading verses with his Native Tongue cohort Q-Tip.

Fantuzi - Different Strokes for Different Folks LP (Different Strokes)
A figurehead of the Woodstock generation where he performed and MC'd, Fantuzzi's photo famously adorned the cover of Newsweek during the festival, epitomising the freewheeling, decadent spirit of the times. Having played and crossed paths with the likes of Richie Havens, Bob Dylan and Stephen Stills, Fantuzzi combined these influences with approaches of Timothy Leary and Ram Dass into the creation of this, his debut record back in 1978. The lo-fi approach betrays the late '70s date, instead recalling the fuzzy, soulful atmosphere of the late '60s psychedelic soul and folk scenes. The record is split into two distinct sides; a 'Fast Side' and 'Slow Side'. The fast side throws out a number of groovers with snapping drums and an elastic rhythm section with congas and sitars gliding in and out. Opener 'Come Along' is ideal for the DJs; an uplifting dance floor beauty with a tight as hell rhythm section and angelic flute. The slow side highlights the singer-songwriter and folky side of Fantuzzi, often slipping sublimely into psyched out trippiness; highlight 'Deep Inside' employing ghostly backing vocals and dubbed out effects with wondrous results. The reissue package contains an exclusive interview with Fantuzzi himself, providing a fascinating glimpse into both the making of the record and a life truly well lived. Also included are a number of photos from the Fantuzzi private collection which shine a light on the world of free festivals, joyous music creation and communal living.

Led by John Brannon's hoarse wail, with OP Moore on drums and brothers Rob and Graham McCulloch playing guitar and bass respectively, the band concocted an extreme sound devoid of frills. This was first documented on their 10 Song 7" released on Touch and Go Records in 1982. The band released the more metallic-sounding Tied Down in 1983. After disbanding Negative Approach in 1985, John Brannon went on to form Laughing Hyenas.

Various Artists - Une Voix M'appelle: Voix de L'Orient 67-84 LP (Now Again)
Arabic Pop, Oriental Funk, Jazz Fusion And Experimental Synth: the birth of the modern Lebanese musical adventure, presented as a survey spanning the high points of two decades of releases on the groundbreaking Voix de L'Orient label. Those profiled include Egyptian guitarist Omar Khorshid, maverick producer/arranger/composer Elias Rahbani, mysterious talents like Nicolas Dick and Robert Maalouf and the father of the label’s founder, Abdallah Chahine, a pianist of immense talent. As told in detailed liner notes by DJ, music researcher and legacy-keeper Ernesto Chahoud and Natalie Shooter, this period of Lebanese music formed the soundtrack to the city of Beirut during its multiple transformations, from its 1950s to 1960s heyday as ‘the Switzerland of the Orient’ through to the mid 1970s and 1980s, when it soundtracked the tragic days of the Lebanese Civil War.
