New Releases

$uicideboy$ - Thy Kingdom Come CD/LP (G59 Records)

2025 release from the New Orleans-based hip hop duo founded by cousins Scrim and Ruby da Cherry. [Indie exclusive maroon colored vinyl pressing]

Almost Monday - DIVE LP (Hollywood Records)

Hollywood Records presents Almost Monday's debut studio album, DIVE, on limited-edition picture disc vinyl. Released in September 2024, it features popular tracks, "can't slow down" and "Jupiter". [Picture disc vinyl pressing.]

Animal Collective - Love On the Big Screen/Buddies On the Blackboard 7" (Domino)

Two new songs from AnCo. Produced by Avey Tare and Adam McDaniel, engineered and mixed by McDaniel at his Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville, North Carolina, and mastered by Dave Cooley.

Anthony Family - Live from an Ordinary Place CD/LP (Pure Noise)

Debut solo album from Anthony Anzaldo, the founding guitarist of Ceremony. Over the years, Ceremony have explored hardcore, post-punk, indie rock, new wave, and beyond. For Anzaldo, in 2024, highly personal, emotionally complex sophisti-pop is the order of the day. In tracing Anthony Family’s DNA, if you were to point to Howard Jones, Prefab Sprout, or Yazoo, you’d be on the right track. Ditto the Blue Nile, Scritti Politti — or his all-time hero, Prince. [Guava cream colored vinyl pressing.]

Daniel Blumberg - The Brutalist O.S.T. CD/2xLP (Milan Records)

Nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Best Original Score, and shot in the glorious, vintage VistaVision format, Brady Corbet's The Brutalist stands as a monumental achievement in filmmaking. Opening with a mesmerizing and continuous 10-minute overture, composer Daniel Blumberg's music sets the stage for the film's epic narrative, which spans multiple decades and follows fictional Hungarian architect László Toth (played by Adrien Brody) as he rebuilds his life in post-war America. Encompassing large-scale brass orchestrations, intimately lyrical piano melodies and freewheeling, improvisational jazz, The Brutalist's score is as ambitious and broad in scope as the film itself.

Bomba Estereo & Rawayana - Astropical LP (Sony)

Collaborative project between Colombian group Bomba Estéreo and Venezuelan band Rawayana, co-produced by both groups. Each song represents a different zodiac symbol with electronica, Afrobeat sounds, and shades of reggaeton and champeta.

Common Holly - Anything Glass LP (Keeled Scales)

Anything Glass, the third album from Montreal songwriter Brigitte Naggar, aka Common Holly, was recorded live off the floor over just a handful of days, in a bid to capture the sound and energy her band has honed on stage. Co-produced with long-time collaborator Devon Bate, Anything Glass feels certain and uncertain, sharp yet softly focused. The album touches on themes of mortality, connection and meaning in an ever-confounding world. Key influences like Bill Callahan, Mount Eerie, Lomelda, and Leonard Cohen have impacted Naggar's writing - artists who make the personal feel universal, but also songwriters that conjure a world around their work, who can deliver a song of pure gentleness or sincerity but always with an edge, a flicker of static hidden in the shadows.

Buddy Guy - Ain't Done with the Blues CD/2xLP (RCA)

Ain’t Done With The Blues marks Buddy Guy’s 14th studio album with RCA Records. In celebration of his 89th birthday, the album showcases Buddy’s unrelenting dedication to the blues. With featured artists such as Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Joe Walsh, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Joe Bonamassa, and Peter Frampton, Ain’t Done With The Blues was produced at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN.

Sofia Kourtesis - Volver 12" (Ninja Tune)

Sofia’s first new music since Madres, her debut album released in October 2023. Having already broken through with a string of singles and EPs, Madres took that success and ran with it, marking a huge moment for Sofia that has continued to build ever since. The album was described in their interview features as “one of the year’s best dance albums” by The Guardian and "the kind of music that thaws any and all frigidity and reminds you of your aliveness" by Pitchfork. This new 12" is dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community and features a collaborative track with Daphni, aka Caribou's Dan Snaith.

Rachael & Vilray - West of Broadway LP (Concord Records)

Brooklyn-based duo Rachael & Vilray have achieved a timeless quality with their singular take on traditional pop. Their 10 songs transcend nostalgia with wit, a flair for the theatrical and extravagant personality. On their third album, West of Broadway, vocalist Rachael Price (Lake Street Dive) and guitarist/singer/songwriter Vilray bring their luminous vocals to offbeat tales of love and heartache, as they unfold a series of sharply drawn vignettes of their beloved New York City.

Reneé Rapp - Bite Me CD/LP (Interscope Records)

Reneé Rapp's sophomore studio album "BITE ME" encourages listeners to embrace every facet of their personality, the chaotic and the confident, and to be authentically, unapologetically themselves. It's a raw, unfiltered, and vulnerable album about self-acceptance in it's truest form, and like Rapp herself, creates a community for unfiltered self-expression. [Indie exclusive magenta vinyl pressing.]

Travis Roberts - Rebel Rose CD/LP (New West Records)

If anyone knows how to roll with the punches, it's Travis Roberts. At 24, the Texas songwriter has already battled addiction, buried friends, and been so broke he couldn't put a roof over his head. He even joined an underground fight club just to pay for studio time. Then Roberts comes out swinging on his blistering debut, Rebel Rose. Recorded with Roberts' longtime live band, The Willing Few, the album fuses earnest country storytelling with rowdy rock and roll energy as it blurs the lines between roots, punk, folk, and power pop.

Thomas Stronen - Relations LP (ECM Records)

Musical messages from Oslo, New York, Basel and Lugano - recorded between 2018 and 2022 - are juxtaposed and recombined on an absorbing recording that features Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen solo and in a series of duets. With such partners as Craig Taborn, Chris Potter, Sinikka Langeland and Jorge Rossy, the musical frame of reference is very broad. Strønen offers a project that implies new threads of connectivity, new creative relationships. Produced by Manfred Eicher.

Patrick Sweany - Baby It's Late CD/LP (Nine Mile Records)

Celebrated Blues artist Patrick Sweany returns with his much-anticipated new record Baby, It’s Late. Utilizing ace players from two of his Nashville side-projects (the 50s/60s era Blues combo Tiger Beats, and the Soul/Funk quartet Super Felon), Baby, It's Late is a pastiche of Sweany's wide-ranging influences and history, incorporating Classic Rock, Soul, Country and, of course, a massive dose of vintage Blues.

Sunny Sweeney - Rhinestone Requiem CD/LP (Aunt Daddy Records)

Sunny Sweeney has spent nearly two decades carving out a fiercely independent path in country music, crafting a sound rooted in tradition while unflinchingly reflecting her life experiences. Hailing from East Texas and now based in Hendersonville, Tennessee, Sweeney has built a reputation as a sharp, authentic storyteller and honky tonk torchbearer. Her sixth album, Rhinestone Requiem, showcases her love of classic country styles and her talent for emotionally resonant songwriting. Sweeney's music reflects a woman who's lived through pain and come out stronger, using her songs to connect with fans who feel seen through her lyrics.

Morgan Wade - The Party Is Over (Recovered) CD/LP (Sony Nashville)

The follow-up to 2024’s acclaimed Obsessed, Wade continues the intense exploration of her psyche’s recesses across 11 songs that she again wrote solo. A handful of the songs date back to before Wade signed her major-label deal and have been “recovered” here with all-new versions. Wade’s longtime collaborator and touring bandmate Clint Wells produced the album, finding the right shades to complement Wade’s fearless tales of dangerous attraction, unrequited love, and bad decisions. The album’s title track “The Party Is Over”—one of Wade’s older songs—is a crashing anthem about attraction that lingers long after the intoxicants wear off, while the lead single “East Coast” takes those fixations to an extreme in its depiction of a relationship that pushes someone to the edge. [Indie exclusive magenta vinyl.]

The Wood Brothers - Puff of Smoke CD/LP (Honey Jar Records)

The American roots trio's ninth album of original music. Through the near two decades spent together in the studio and on the road, the Grammy Award-nominated trio have honed their interconnected, singular voice to telepathic proportions. On this latest studio effort, a true collaborative effort between its three members, the songs weave a medley of musical ideas - ranging from Latin-inflected acoustic guitar lines, to driving post-jazz rhythms, to infectious sing along choruses - resulting in a cohesive, joyful whole. All with The Wood Brothers' trademark turns of phrase and lighthearted, but subversively profound wisdom at the core.  [Indie exclusive purple vinyl.]

Both albums are remastered for this release, which features new artwork from longtime collaborator Andy Mueller, colored 180-gram vinyl, original artwork jackets, pullout color inserts with liner notes from the band, Braid's Bob Nanna, Shiner's Allen Epley, and Honcho Overload/Parasol Mail Order guru Bill Johnson.

Magdalena Bay - Mini Mix Vol. 1-3 LP (Luminelle Recordings)

Magdalena Bay is now famous for their sweeping, high-concept pop epics Mercurial World and Imaginal Disk, but it was the duo's charming, self-proclaimed "mini songs" that first captured our hearts and imaginations back in 2019. Mica and Matt traversed more of pop music's history and conjured more brilliant ideas and undeniable hooks in these sub-two-minute bangers than the average pop group musters in their entire career. The duo then compiled these irresistible tiny tracks into immaculately sequenced "mini mixes" that rank among the most beloved releases of the 2020s, and a beguiling prequel to the pop dominance that was to come from Mag Bay.
