New Releases

Alia - Where the Echoes Bloom LP (Leaving Records)

Debut album by LA theremin player / songwriter Alia (Alia Mohmed), most recently seen in collaboration with acclaimed harpist Nailah Hunter for blissful Harold Budd cover Pavilion of Dreams.

The All-American Rejects - Sandbox CD (Dark Operative)

The fifth studio album from the power pop pride and joy of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Tracked primarily at Wheelhouse Studios (guitarist Nick Wheeler’s gorgeous hand-built studio) and produced by Wheeler, vocalist Tyson Ritter, and keyboardist Scott Chesak, The All-American Rejects are seamlessly fusing all of the knowledge and skills acquired across their many years making music with all of the undeniable talent and artistic sensibilities that put them on the map in the first place.

Deep Purple - Splat! CD/2xLP (Earmusic)

Deep Purple return with their new studio album Splat!, their heaviest record in many years, recorded together in the studio the way Deep Purple have always recorded. Once again produced by Bob Ezrin, the album draws on the sound and attitude that have always set Deep Purple apart. At the heart of Splat! Is an idea conceived by Ian Gillan: The album explores the end of humanity not in any crude apocalyptic sense but as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence. Frontman Ian Gillan says: "Where we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very 'now' version of Deep Purple as it was in the seventies." [Indie exclusive transparent yellow vinyl pressing.]

Ryan Hamilton - Haunted by American Dreams CD (Wicked Cool Records)

Ryan's first album in over three years. Lead track "Dreaming Screaming" is a roots-leaning alternative rock track with a heavier, guitar-driven edge, in the spirit of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It explores the cost of chasing a dream past its breaking point, when ambition erodes mental health and pulls you from family.

Kiasmos - II Reworked 2xLP (Erased Tapes)

The duo of Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen invite some of their favorite artists to contribute to a completely reworked version of their 2024 album. The two friends entrusted the task to LA-based composers/producers/multi-instrumentalists Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith (AKA Disiniblud), fellow Icelandic composers Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang, and long-time friend and American composer Alex Somers. The result is a sprawling and shimmering trip back through the album's melodies, with a dream-like haze more suited for after the dancefloor and when the lights have faded. The entirety of II has been reworked in sequence by the artists, each bringing their own distinctive colouring to the original songs. [Translucent vinyl pressing.]

Low Cut Connie - Livin in the USA LP (Many Hats)

Adam Weiner is a rock & roll artist from Philadelphia who has released 7 studio albums under the name Low Cut Connie. Since forming in 2010, Low Cut Connie has earned a devoted fanbase that includes Sir Elton John and Bruce Springsteen. In 2024, he released the award-winning documentary film Art Dealers. His writing has been published in SPIN, Billboard, and Talkhouse.

Madonna - Confessions II CD/deluxe CD/LP/2xLP/cassette (Warner)

The fifteenth studio album from the Queen of Pop is a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor and features collaborations with Sabrina Carpenter and Stromae, among others. Available as a standard 16-track CD, a deluxe 16-track CD housed in a photobook, a standard 12-track translucent red vinyl pressing, an indie exclusive 12-track white vinyl pressing, a deluxe 16-track translucent pink 2LP edtion, and as a 16-track clear pink cassette. Deluxe vinyl edition also includes an exclusive numbered coat check and track list prayer card.

Mary in the Junkyard - Role Model Hermit CD/LP (AMF Records)

Bursting with creativity and experimentation, the debut album from Mary in the Junkyard is one of the most enticing British debut albums in recent memory: a blend of dark fables, intricate melodies, and moments of revelation. Produced by Oli Bayston (Everything is Recorded, Olivia Dean), Ben Baptie (The Strokes, Young fathers, Little Simz) The artwork takes us into the journey of Clari in a past life as a sailor, welcoming us into the lore of the album.

Osees - Cara Maluco 12" (Deathhod Corp)

Osees return with a four-track EP recorded last year in Tornio, TX. A couple fried trippers and couple tight dance punk numbers. Crazy face indeed. Includes an etched B-side.

Andrew Sa - American Rough LP (Bloodshot)

Now available on vinyl. Debut album from the queer country crooner. After honing his craft in Chicago's independent music scene and the campy, theatrical world of the Cosmic Country Showcase, Sa collaborated with producer H.C. McEntire to bridge the gap between mid-century country-pop and contemporary indie-folk. The record is a sonic tapestry woven with pedal steel, jaunty horns, and Sa's signature siren-like croon, drawing inspiration from titans like Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison while being deeply informed by the poetry of Arthur Rimbaud and Ocean Vuong. Sa courageously subverts the heteronormative traditions of country music, reimagining the genre through the lens of gay desire to create a space where hardened bodies find each other in the dark and soften.

Sick Gazelle - Veld LP (Vampire Blues)

With their second LP Veld, Sick Gazelle take their cosmic and instantaneous group communications to new levels of clarity and structure, without losing the spark of the jam. The band expands from longtime Chicago underground players Eric Block on guitar (Veloce) and vocalist/saxophonist Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) with drummer Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth) to include Douglas McCombs (Tortoise) on bass. Though these five tracks are sculpted from improvisations, they’ve been refined into song forms that illuminate the strengths of both the individual players and the chemistry of the quartet version of the combo. This comes through in Veld’s moments of reflective subtlety on tracks like “I’ll Come Running,” in the foreboding tension of the cinematic “Ocean Always Wins,” as well as in the charged grooves and dubby undercurrents of the sideways rocker “Hippies.”

Sienna Spiro - Visitor CD/LP (Capitol)

Sienna Spiro continues her rapid rise with Visitor, a deeply intimate and cinematic body of work that expands on the emotional storytelling and soulful vocal performances that have quickly made her one of the most talked-about new artists in contemporary pop, drawing on soul and jazz to create a sound that feels both timeless and modern. Building on the momentum of breakthrough songs "Die On This Hill," "You Stole The Show," and "The Visitor," Spiro delivers a collection of songs highlighting striking vocal performances that have made her the standout artist of the moment. [Indie exclusive red vinyl pressing with alternate cover.]

Tony Ann - Icarus 12" (Decca)

Tony Ann presents Icarus in a limited-edition vinyl release, inspired by the radiance and soaring ascent of the Greek myth. A defining success in 2024, the track is now available on vinyl for the very first time. This collector’s edition features a striking etched design on Side A, adorned with an angel motif that captures the spirit of flight. Side B gathers five distinct interpretations of Icarus: the original version; a sweeping orchestral rendition with ARKAI; a powerful four-hands performance with Lang Lang; and two reimagined remixes, Helios’ atmospheric ambient take, and Drics’ soft house interpretation.

Armageddon - Armageddon CD (Deko Music)

A lost classic resurfaces for its 50th Anniversary. Armageddon was formed in 1974, and their self-titled 1975 debut was recorded in England and released in the United States on A&M Records. The album's original liner notes use the term "supergroup", as their personnel were drummer Bobby Caldwell (previously a member of Captain Beyond), singer Keith Relf (who had fronted the band the Yardbirds and was a co-founder of Renaissance), guitarist Martin Pugh (from Steamhammer), and bassist Louis Cennamo (also formerly of Renaissance and Steamhammer).

John Coltrane - Impressions LP (Impulse!)

Recorded between 1961-1963 and released on Impulse! Records in July 1963, Impressions documents John Coltrane's classic quartet with pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones. Two selections, "India" and "Impressions," originate from the group's November 1961 engagement at the Village Vanguard, where the quartet was joined by Eric Dolphy on alto saxophone, bass clarinet, and flute and second bassist Reggie Workman. These are paired with the studio recordings "Up 'Gainst the Wall" in 1962, and "After the Rain" in 1963, the latter featuring Roy Haynes on drums. Issued during the same period as albums including Coltrane and Live at Birdland, Impressions forms part of Coltrane's early-1960s Impulse! Discography, demonstrating the quartet's unique power in both expanded live performance and studio contexts. Verve's Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapes remastered on 180g vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.

Death Angel - The Ultra-Violence LP (Real Gone Music)

That one of the greatest thrash albums of all time was recorded by a bunch of teenagers (or barely even that... drummer Andy Galeon was only 14 years old) still remains one of metal's great success stories. Metallica's Kirk Hammett produced the Kill as One demo for Death Angel, which, along with a fearsome live reputation (the band played L.A. and NYC despite their tender ages) led to their signing with Enigma and recording of The Ultra-Violence in a mere three days. This 1987 classic has been remastered for vinyl and includes an insert with lyrics and band photo. ["Smoking Crater" color vinyl pressing.]

Grateful Dead - Fillmore Auditorium, San Francisco CA (7/3/66) 2xCD (Grateful Dead)

One of the earliest live recordings by The Grateful Dead, July 3, 1966, at the Fillmore Auditorium shows a band with a bright, long, exciting future ahead. A year into their performing career, Jerry, Bobby, Phil, Billy, and Pigpen perform live nearly a year before their first record came out. Playing Grateful Dead classics that would stick around their repertoire for decades such as "I Know You Rider, " "Cold Rain and Snow, " "New, New Minglewood Blues, " and "Beat It On Down The Line, " along with shorter-lived tracks including the covers "Gangster Of Love, " "Viola Lee Blues, " and "Don't Mess Up A Good Thing."

Kruder & Dorfmeister - DJ-Kicks 30th Anniversary 3xLP (K7)

For its 30th anniversary, Kruder & Dorfmeister's DJ-Kicks is available for the first time in mixed form on 3LP, remastered by Bernie Grundman and packaged in a special box set including original imagery. Kruder & Dorfmeister's rendition of the series created an era defining moment, which tied together a glowing array of musical registers. The Viennese downtempo royalty blended a fusion of slowed down moments across many genres with rolling drum and bass from the likes of Aquasky, the melting acid lines of deep Hardfloor and the 90s boom bap-sampling, smoked out atmospherics of Thievery Corporation amongst many more.

Delbert McClinton - Live from Austin, TX LP (New West Records)

Delbert McClinton has performed on Austin City Limits 7 times, and this 1982 performance is considered one of his more legendary performances. You can call Delbert's music "Texas roadhouse blues" if you want to, but you might as well give up trying to pin a label on this guy. He was born in Lubbock, but you'd never know it from the sound of that growling, gravelly, funky voice. Maybe growing up in Fort Worth explains the difference, since he developed his R&B chops early-on playing in the house band at Jack's Place, a notorious, rough-and-rowdy late-night joint.

Motörhead - Kiss of Death 2xCD/2xLP (BMG)

First released in 2006, Kiss of Death is Motörhead's18th studio album and was the follow-up to their 2004 album, Inferno. Unmistakably Motörhead, they pick up where they left off, continuing the heavier side of the band with standout tracks including "Sucker," "God Was Never On Your Side," and more. It also features guest appearances from Mike Inez (Alice in Chains) and C.C. DeVille (Poison). The 20th Anniversary Edition is newly remastered and cut at half-speed from the original tapes. It also contains an exclusive bonus disc from the band's 2007 performance at Lowlands Festival in Biddinghuizen, The Netherlands which is now officially on vinyl for the first time.

Oddisee - Tangible Dream LP (Mello Music)

2013 release. Tangible Dream feels like a quiet sunrise over the city - the moment when ambition and reality shake hands, trade stories, and decide to move forward together. Oddisee builds the entire album as both architect and resident: producer, rapper, observer, and participant. His beats float with that unmistakable D.C. breeze-warm Rhodes keys, subtle basslines, crisp drums, and melodies that hum with the everyday poetry of working life. Lyrically, Oddisee moves like a craftsman. He raps about rent due and dreams deferred, missed connections and small victories, the tension between wanting more and appreciating what you already have. [Clear with green and purple swirl vinyl pressing.]

John Patton - Got A Good Thing Goin' LP (Blue Note)

Organist Big John Patton's 1966 soul jazz manifesto Got A Good Thing Goin' was a showcase for the dynamic duo of Patton and guitarist Grant Green, whose deep rapport elevate this set of Patton-Green originals and covers of hits by Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke. They're backed by Hugh Walker on drums and Richard Landrum on congas. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket.

Michel Petrucciani - Power of Three LP (Blue Note)

Michel Petrucciani's 2nd Blue Note release, Power of Three, featured the miraculous French pianist in a duo with guitarist Jim Hall and a trio that added saxophonist Wayne Shorter. Recorded live at the 1986 Montreux Jazz Festival, the album captured a magical night of music-making by three virtuosos. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.

Six Feet Under - Graveyard Classics LP (Brutal Planet)
Six Feet Under - Graveyard Classics IV LP (Brutal Planet)

The Graveyard Classics series is Six Feet Under's way of honoring the bands that helped shape heavy metal history by dragging those legendary songs through the band's unmistakable swamp of crushing riffs and death-metal brutality. The first volume features iconic tracks from metal, punk, and hard rock's formative years, including songs originally recorded by AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, and Exodus, among others. On Graveyard Classics IV: The Number of the Priest, Chris Barnes and company pay tribute to two of the most revered bands in metal history: Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. [Bloody Gold and Beast Yellow color vinyl pressings, respectively.]

Various Artists - Teenbeat Mayhem: Slipped Through the Cracks CD (Gear Fab Records)

This compilation represents a major change in Gear Fab's years of compilations of Rock, Psych & Garage music from the 1960's. This new saga continues by our digging into the archives and vaults of Mike Markesich's rare and unreleased 45s from all across the country.

Doc Watson - Doc Watson LP (Real Gone Music)

The 1964 solo debut record from Doc Watson didn't just define guitar flat-picking for his generation and those to come (check "Black Mountain Rag"), but it also straddled American music traditions with amazing aplomb. Just try classifying this record: is it folk? Country? Bluegrass? The truth is, it's all of those things, and more. It's hilarious ("Intoxicated Rat"), mournful ("Little Omie Wise"), defiantly joyful ("Sittin' on Top of the World"), starkly existential ("Country Blues"), and even goofy ("Born About Six Thousand Years Ago"). But most of all, it's Doc Watson, the first and perhaps most lasting salvo from an American music giant. [Deep River blue vinyl pressing.]
