Hitting The Racks

Here's your weekly rundown of what's hitting the new release racks at Grimey's

New Releases

21 Savage - What Happened to the Streets? CD/2xLP (Epic)

Grammy winner and multi-platinum global superstar 21 Savage continues to solidify his case as one of the preeminent hip hop stars of his generation with the release of his fourth solo studio album. Includes guest appearances from Latto, Drake, Glorilla, Metro Boomin, and more. [CDs shipped late and will arrive next week.]

Zoh Amba - Eyes Full LP (Matador)

In music, Zoh Amba is always striving for greater proximity to the divine. On Eyes Full, their debut singer-songwriter release and first with Matador, they've never come closer. Having already become one of the most exciting saxophonists to emerge from NYC's avant-garde scene, Amba is now letting their heart guide them back to their first instrument, the guitar, and to their hometown of Kingsport, Tennessee. The music is distinctly, instinctively tied to that place: muddy, loose blues with sweet burnishes of Appalachian folk. It feels like a pure transmission of their soul. The record looks closely at the lives of working-class folk in small towns who bust their asses off while trying to find any salvation they can.

August Burns Red - Season of Surrender CD (Fearless)

August Burns Red's tenth full-length, Season of Surrender, effortlessly integrates the brutal breakdowns of their classic era with instrumental flourishes. "This album is rooted in traditional August Burns Red, and I think it's the heaviest album we've written in a long time," explains vocalist Jake Luhrs. From the technical mastery of "Behemoth" to the unbridled aggression of "Legions" (which features The Devil Wears Prada's Mike Hranica), Season of Surrender sees August Burns Red further developing their sonic identity while staying true to the band's roots as metalcore trailblazers.

Bad Stuff - Bad Stuff CD/LP (Relapse)

On their eponymous debut, the Dallas-based Bad Stuff (featuring members of the critically acclaimed True Widow) delivers one of 2026's most engrossing and cinematic slow-burning rock records. The band’s alternative, almost Lynchian take on the genre is palpable from the onset of the album opener, “Sullen”: Nicole Estill’s bare kick-snare rhythm makes way to contemplative, laid-back guitar and bass twangs from DH Phillips and Laura Hartman, churning into an ebb and flow alongside moody keys and a cool, almost-funereal vocal delivery from Jackie Dunn Smith. What follows feels like a journey across fuzzed-out passages of surreal, dreamy introspection. [Pink vinyl pressing.]

Bedouine - Neon Summer Skin CD/LP (Bedouine Music)

Neon Summer Skin, the latest album from Azniv Korkejian aka Bedouine, is a practice in grieving childhood; recalling the feeling of safety long before understanding its meaning. Written with vivid, honest and intimate imagery after visiting her family in Saudi Arabia, it tells the story of family and upbringing, and mourns the end of her childhood. There is a singular resonance and newfound heft in this music previously unheard in Bedouine’s discography. Bedouine is known for making gentle, lilting folk songs that build fingerpicked guitar melodies into tsunamis of emotion. Her masterful songwriting and timeless melodies have earned her praise from publications like Pitchfork, who said her music “boasts a surreal calm and lived in glow,” plus an NPR Tiny Desk Concert, and tours with the likes of Fleet Foxes and Father John Misty. [Olive color vinyl pressing.]

Lakecia Benjamin - We Dream CD/LP (Artwork Records)

We Dream is the new studio album by New York-based alto saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Lakecia Benjamin. Conceived as a band-driven project, her sixth album and Artwork Records debut centers on Benjamin's frequent collaborators in pianists Oscar Pérez and Miki Hayama and bassist Elias Bailey alongside an expansive cast of guest collaborators drawn from across jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and experimental music including: trumpeters Terence Blanchard and Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah; saxophonist Chris Potter; drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts; pianist Hiromi; the Roots' Black Thought; vocalists Bilal and Tarriona "Tank" Ball of Tank and the Bangas; and drummer and producer Kassa Overall. After years working with artists including Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Prince, Missy Elliott, Anita Baker, Gregory Porter, Kool & the Gang, and The Roots, We Dream arrives after a period of heightened visibility for Benjamin and unfolds as a cinematic, poem-driven journey.

The Bug Club - Every Single Muscle LP (Sub Pop)

Every Single Muscle, the band's fifth LP overall, is the third to be released by the Welsh duo's esteemed Seattle-based patrons Sub Pop, coming hot on the heels of 2025's Very Human Features. The album gets off to a full-throttle, chugging start with "Miss Wales 2012," the first of many sub-two-minute tracks on the album, setting the tone for The Bug Club's punkiest offering yet and recalling both the short, sharp snaps of their very first singles and the grunt of recent releases. So packed is the album with wall-to-wall riffs and lyrical hooks rammed into tight confines that guitarist/vocalist Sam actually asks permission to squeeze in a solo during second track "A Good Day For Dying." He's given two seconds. Happily, Sam asks again later on and is granted more. Across eighteen tunes there's enough classic Sam/Tilly guitar interplay to satisfy even the most vociferous Bug Club club member and firmly refute the band's own claim that they are only "just about technically proficient on our instruments."

Caleb Caudle - Heavy Thrill CD/LP (Handplow)

Caleb Caudle's body of work is shaped from the ground up. His artistry has emerged through endurance and the steady momentum of a life in motion, carrying him from small stages in the North Carolina foothills he calls home, all the way to the Grand Ole Opry. Now, Caudle is entering a pivotal chapter - one of a profound culmination where life and art converge in powerful ways. On his new album, this personal evolution mirrors his artistic journey. He takes full creative control, self-producing for the first time while recording at the storied Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, Tenn., where reverence for tradition meets his singular artistic vision.

Tara Clerkin Trio - Somewhere Good CD/LP (World of Echo)

With two extraordinary mini-albums making a splash on London's World of Echo label in wake of their self-titled 2020 debut, Somewhere Good is, in many ways, the Tara Clerkin Trio's most realised work. In running their usual gauntlet of idiosyncratic approaches, Clerkin & co. color in and outside of compositional lines over the course of 40+ celebratory minutes, allowing their arrangements and improvisations ample space and time to situate, stretch out, breathe, cross-pollinate, and ultimately take deeper hold on the listener's imagination. "There are elements of avant-pop, modern classical, kraut-folk, audio verité, dare I say indie rock (and not of the beer guzzling, masturbatory fuzz-flex variety but perhaps more like a Trish Keenan-fronted Faust, Adrian Sherwood at the mixing desk of If You're Feeling Sinister, or - in expanding on our alternate reality - a world in which High Llamas cut a full-length for Warp Records with Andrew Weatherall on coffee duty)." - Ryan Davis (Chicago, February 2026)

Converge - Hum of Hurt CD (Epitaph)

For over three decades, Converge have defined the outer limits of heavy music, shaping hardcore, punk, and metal with unmatched urgency and vision. On Hum Of Hurt, the band's twelfth album and second release of 2026, the band continues to channel decades of creative intensity into a focused and fearless reflection on resilience, connection, and the weight of existence. Recorded and mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts, the album captures Converge at another deliberate and dynamic moment - ferocious yet deeply human.

The Creem - A Taste of Cherry LP (CMN)

A Taste of Cherry is the dialed-in debut from Mike Stroud (previously of Ratatat) & Nick Thorburn (previously of Islands). Born from a deep reverence for song craft and the alchemy of collaboration, The Creem arrives on the scene fully realized, with the two friends channeling years of experience into something immediate and undeniable. Cherry is an embarrassment of sweet riches, packed with sticky, instant classics that channel the spirit of bands like the Kinks and ELO. Replete with tender hooks that burrow in your brain like a beetle, wry words that carry your heart to another green world, and mastodonic melodies that rip your face off like a riled up T.Rex.

Anthony da Costa - The No Send Letter LP (Birthday Cake Records)

Anthony da Costa’s twelfth record to date, documenting the most difficult, transformative breakup of his life and the echoes of past pain that reverberated through it. In the aftermath, the album was self-produced and recorded between da Costa’s Pleasantville Recording studio in Nashville and a barn studio in Virginia. His dear community of friends and collaborators in Nashville can be heard throughout the album. It features appearances from Molly Parden, Jason Burger (Cassandra Jenkins, Andrew Bird), Lizzy Ross, Ruth Moody (The Wailin’ Jennys), Maya de Vitry, Ethan Jodziewicz (Aofie O’Donovan, Milk Carton Kids), Lindsay Lou, Mike Robinson, Will Honaker, Russell Durham (Fleet Foxes, Courtney Hartman), Christian Sedelmyer, Alex Wilder, Devon Sproule, Aaron Steele (Foster the People, Portugal the Man), Chris Lippincott, Suz Slezak, and Jess Nolan.

Haylie Davis - Wandering Star CD/LP (Fire Records)

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Haylie Davis presents Wandering Star, a coming-of-age debut that unfolds like a Townes Van Zandt tale set in a deserted diner off a re-routed interchange: intimate, cinematic and quietly fearless. Haylie Davis channels the spirit of the early '70s, when Carole King and Joni Mitchell redefined songwriting. That time-travelling sensibility is celebrated on Wandering Star, the album's title track. A piano-led meditation steeped in longing, the song carries the eerie shadow of Karen Carpenter, buoyed by a luminous, aching sub-melody. The blissful ballad 'Horns of Time' taps into a plaintive cosmic country palette reminiscent of Emmylou Harris.

Death Cab for Cutie - I Built You a Tower CD/LP (Anti-)

Death Cab for Cutie is one of the definitive indie-rock bands of the century. After twenty-odd years in the major label system, the band has returned to their indie roots and signed with Anti- Records, and now they're back with their eleventh album. I Built You A Tower is the sound of loss, compartmentalization, and then grief bursting out from the seams. It's also the sound of the growth that comes after falling apart, of acknowledging pain without letting it destroy you. "I see the tower existing on your emotional horizon," Ben Gibbard states. "You don't always have to look at what's inside it, but it's a reminder that it happened. You know it's there. You have to face it." [Indie exclusive frosted teal vinyl pressing.]

Deer Tick - Coin-O-Matic CD/LP (ATO)

Providence-bred Deer Tick returns with their 9th album. Rooted in their hometown, it draws from the city's colorful & once-seedy past, telling stories inspired by the characters that shaped its reputation & the hardworking people who call it home. Named after the former Atwells Avenue headquarters of the Patriarca Crime Family, Coin-O-Matic blends nostalgia with universal themes, delivering the kind of hook-filled, lived-in songwriting longtime fans have come to expect. [Frosted coke bottle vinyl color pressing.]

DJ Seinfeld - If This Is It LP (Ninja Tune)

With his multi-layered and highly-accomplished third album If This Is It, Armand Jakobsson AKA DJ Seinfeld has evolved into the artist he always wanted to be. The 12-track LP is an exploration of letting go, embracing the present, and turning "what ifs" into acceptance. "If This Is It is about reflecting on the past without dwelling in it, and finding harmony in restlessness" Seinfeld commented. "Through writing it, I've tried to turn long-held anxieties into acceptance, and I hope listeners can take their own meaning from it". Features collaborations with SG Lewis, Confidence Man, and more. [Indie exclusive green vinyl pressing.]

Dumama - Towards an Expanse LP (Soundway)

Towards an Expanse Follows the acclaimed 2020 collaborative album Buffering Juju with Kechou, a fellow South African musician and artist, lauded as Global album of the month and a wonderfully inventive debut in The Guardian. Sometimes gospel, sometimes electro-psychedelic space travel, the project starts with a languid lament that whispers a close-to-the-ear invitation up and between the folds of what unfurls into an ever- expanding sonic universe. Towards an Expanse began in 2019 at Figure 8 Studios (Brooklyn, NYC) under the generous guidance of Shahzad Ismaily. It was written in Port Alfred and Cape Town and matured in Berlin and has evolved into a companion, a pulsating vessel of grief, vitality, and reclamation. The album meditates on learning to live with damage while regaining autonomy over how Black life is archived: a dialogue between the artist, her ancestors, voices like Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo, Princess Magogo, Madosini, and the psychoacoustics of South Africa's lore as a timeless technology. It brings these elders into a conversation with Dumama's global orientation and experimental sensibilities.

Evanescence - Sanctuary CD (BMG)

Entering a bold new era, Evanescence continues to push boundaries with their new album, Sanctuary. The album features tracks produced by Zack Cervini & Jordan Fiish alongside songs produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Korn, Foo Fighters, Rush) and includes the global phenomenon "Afterlife", which became the fastest-rising single of the band's career and "Who Will You Follow", a track that highlights Amy Lee's signature powerhouse vocals and intensity. [Vinyl edition due September 4th.]

Fucked Up - Year of the Monkey 2xLP (Tank Crimes)

The latest release in the post-hardcore band's zodiac series. [Purple vinyl pressing.]

Futurebirds - Far Out Country I & II 2xLP (Dualtone)

After more than 15 years together, Futurebirds have channeled everything they've lived and learned into their best project yet, one that elevates and adds new dimension to their signature cosmic Americana, psychedelic country-rock sound. Fronted by three singer-songwriters (Daniel Womack, Carter King, and Thomas Johnson) whose voices are shaped by a shared history yet distinct lives and personalities, the band teamed up with Grammy-winning producer Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman) on an album that embraces life in all its chaos and the evolving bonds that hold them together.

Lexa Gates - I Am 2xLP (Capitol)

The latest album from the New York-based pop rap/neo-soul artist. [White vinyl pressing.]

Calling it "a thank you to the past and a hello to the present," Niall delivers 12 new tracks shaped by "love, intimacy, fear, loss, hope and dreams." Cinematic yet organic, 'Dinner Party' invites listeners to take a seat at the table and share in the warmth, wit and sincerity that define the album. [Available on Porcelain color vinyl with a signed photo and on transparent Wine Glass color vinyl with alternate cover.]

Liz Lawrence - Vespers LP (Chrysalis)

Liz Lawrence is a British artist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Her work has earned praise across radio and press and continues to mark her out as one of the UK's most quietly compelling indie storytellers. Vespers, her fifth album and second for Chrysalis, is an album about tragedy. It is the record of a life and death, an act of devotion and reflection. Liz Lawrence wrote these songs in the ashes of disaster. "It is dedicated to my beautiful sister Jessie and her too-short life." "I wanted someone to be able to say to a friend who is grieving that they should listen to Vespers. I want people to come to this record. I want people to use this record. I want it to have purpose, to give comfort and catharsis " Liz says. Vespers is unvarnished, spare and elegiac, a testament of life and death. "The album is very specifically about my sister and my family's situation, but equally, that is universal."

Lizzo - Bitch CD/LP (Atlantic)

Bitch is the third studio album from 4x Grammy Award-winning artist Lizzo. [Transparent red vinyl pressing.]

Jared Mattson & Ruban Nielson - FEAR LP (Jagjaguwar)

FEAR, the joint album from Jared Mattson of The Mattson 2 and Ruban Nielson of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, was recorded in June of 2024. All recording and mixing took place in Palm Springs. Mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios in London. "I woke up around noon, disoriented, half-dreaming. Music was playing — unfamiliar, fully formed, the kind of sound you assume belongs to someone else’s life. For a moment I thought I was still asleep, hearing music I wished I’d made. Then it hit me: Ruban Nielson was already awake, in the studio, listening to what we’d made. We both knew it. There was something inevitable about the music — like it hadn’t been created so much as uncovered."

John R. Miller - The Great Unknowing CD/2xLP (Rounder)

As John R. Miller began work on his fourth album, he set out to challenge himself both creatively and geographically. The result is Miller's most ambitious work to date - a spacious, textured collection, blending road-worn storytelling, fuzzy atmospheres, and reflections on movement, memory, and change. Rooted in his West Virginia past yet shaped by constant travel, The Great Unknowing captures an artist trusting the process, embracing risk, and letting the groove lead the way.

Modest Mouse - An Eraser and a Maze CD/2xLP (Glacial Pace)

A physics theory says past, present, and future coexist, and that's the best lens for An Eraser and a Maze, which feels like every era of Modest Mouse happening at once. Guided by Isaac Brock's instinct-first process, the album is both familiar and alien, warm and cold. It stretches across the band's sonic history, from propulsive classics to stripped, raw moments, while carrying an undercurrent of mortality and loss that refuses easy optimism. [180g EcoSonic "Ocean Floor" color audiophile vinyl pressing.]

Moving Mountains - Pruning of the Lower Limbs 2xLP (Wax Bodega)

It's been more than a decade since the New York quartet Moving Mountains last released an album, 2013's self-titled LP that only further cemented them as a quietly essential cornerstone in the modern emo, post-rock, and atmospheric genres. Pruning of the Lower Limbs, their first album for Wax Bodega, stands as an effortlessly beautiful reawakening for vocalist/guitarist Gregory Dunn, drummer Nicholas Pizzolato, bassist Mitchell Lee and guitarist/pianist Joshua Kirby, reigniting the most inescapable parts of their musical souls in ways that are equally urgent and introspective. [Highlighter Smoke color vinyl pressing.]

Jalen Ngonda - Doctrine of Love CD/LP (Daptone)

Since the release of his critically acclaimed debut full length, 2023's Come Around and Love Me, Jalen's career has undergone a meteoric trajectory. The track "If You Don't Want My Love" went viral, garnering 253 million streams to date. Jalen has appeared on a bevy of first-rate television programs - notably, Graham Norton, Late Night with Steven Colbert, and Later with Jools Holland. He opened for Thee Sacred Souls on their national US tour, as well as Olivia Dean on her 2023 UK tour, and has sold out countless club dates across the globe as a headliner. The hard work and relentless touring behind his debut has fortified his craft. Doctrine of Love blends pop sensibility and soulful melodies with raw grit and groove, expanding on the orchestral arrangements of Come Around and Love Me with flourishes of horns and gospel-kissed background vocals, creating a highly stylish exercise in modern soul artistry. [Indie exclusive clear vinyl pressing.]

Jared James Nichols - Louder than Fate CD/LP (Frontiers)

With "Louder Than Fate", Jared James Nichols delivers his fourth studio album and easily his most powerful and fully realized statement to date. Raw, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in the lineage of blues-driven hard rock, the album captures an artist at the peak of his creative confidence, channeling grit, groove, and soul with relentless intensity. Produced and mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour, Amon Amarth, Uriah Heep, Steel Panther etc.), "Louder Than Fate" balances muscle and melody, combining thunderous riffs, searing solos, and emotionally charged vocals with a modern, punchy production.

Nine Inch Nails - TRON Ares: Divergence CD/2xLP (The Null Corporation)

TRON Ares: Divergence reimagines the original TRON: Ares soundtrack with 20 songs - a mix of new, original music alongside remixes from Arca, Mark Pritchard, Boys Noize, Lanark Artefax, Chilly Gonzales, Danny L Harle, Jack Dangers, Pixel Grip, Working Men's Club, The Dare, and Schwefelgelb.

Of Montreal - Aethermead CD/LP (Polyvinyl)

Aethermead, the newest offering and 20th full-length album from Of Montreal, finds the band revisiting sounds from their early years, while still pushing artistic boundaries with their iconic style of pop & indie rock. The result shimmers with indie pop elements of their 2004 release, Satanic Panic in the Attic, as well as the raw, live energy of 2013's Lousy With Sylvianbriar. Inspired partly from a recent move to Brooklyn, NY and a yearning for community, the album marks a shift in Barnes' daily routines, with the album's title referencing a section of Prospect Park called the Nethermead, where Barnes walks their dog every day.

Old Crow Medicine Show - Union Made CD/LP (Hartland Records)

Grammy Award winners Old Crow Medicine Show's new album Union Made is rooted in the people, places and pulse of America. It features special guests such as Ray Benson, Evan Felker, Del McCoury, Lee Oskar, Maggie Rose, Molly Tuttle, Jesse Welles, and more. It has ten new OCMS songs and two classic covers: Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth" and Merle Haggard's "Rainbow Stew." [Indie exclusive clear blue vinyl pressing.]

Lee "Scratch" Perry & Mouse on Mars - Spatial, No Problem. CD/LP (Domino)

After the passing of Lee "Scratch" Perry, a deluge of recordings appeared claiming to be the "final" project of the Jamaican icon. These came from musicians and producers from an incredible range of genres-trip hop, dub, ambient, rock, reggae. However, his last official album project took him to Berlin, Germany where he landed on the doorstep of electronic pioneers Mouse on Mars, one of Germany’s most defining and versatile electronic music projects. Spatial, No Problem. is the story of what Lee “Scratch” Perry left behind in Berlin in his encounter with Mouse on Mars. It’s a story of spaces mixing, and cultures morphing towards a different kind of future. [Available on black vinyl and as limited edition yellow vinyl pressing.]

The Red Clay Strays - Grateful CD/LP (RCA)

Grateful marks the third studio album from award-winning band The Red Clay Strays. Featuring standout singles "Demons In Your Choir," "Revival," "If I Didn't Know You," and "Do Today," the album sees the band reuniting with their previous Made by These Moments collaborator and producer Dave Cobb. The assured songs of faith and redemption are fueled by a collective songwriting effort and executed with powerful lead vocals and a thunderous, heart throbbing performance from the band.

Seahaven - Seahaven CD/LP (Pure Noise)

After six years, Seahaven return with their long-awaited self-titled album, their first new full-length since 2020's Halo of Hurt. Formed in Torrance, CA in 2009, the band built a dedicated following with releases like Winter Forever, blending emotional songwriting with expansive alternative and indie-leaning rock. Their self-titled album marks the next chapter for the band, delivering a focused collection of songs that reflects their continued evolution.

SLIFT - Fantasia 2xLP (Sub Pop)

The fourth album from the French heavy psych / space rock band. Though only Jean and bassist Rémi Fossat are related, SLIFT is essentially a band of brothers. They've been friends with drummer Canek Flores since high school, and 2026 marks a decade together in this trio. The band's vast influences are evident: the album evokes Clutch getting wild, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov, Pink Floyd, and Master of Reality-era Sabbath. And the sonic tapestry is aided by the skillful mixing of Kurt Ballou (Converge, Cave In, High on Fire). The songs aren't lacking the complexity or intensity that have made SLIFT a rising star in heavy music; they've simply found new ways to weave the complexities of their past inside every piece, like a tapestry that reveals a new layer every time you look.

Slippers - Slippers 08 LP (K Records)

Slippers mastermind Madeline BB's new record is a masterpiece. Like if you painted the beatles with a rattle can and wax pencil. Slippers last record was entitled "Do You Like Slippers?" More aptly it should have been "Do You Like Pop Music?" Because if the answer is no to either then what are we even doing here? In addition to being a longtime drummer who also performs in Le Pain and has previously played in Yucky Duster, BB's other passion is animation, and the start of Slippers coincides with her time studying that trade in grad school at California Institute of the Arts. All songs by Madeline Babuka Black, "Castaways" by Madeline Babuka Black and Mo Troper. Recorded and Produced by Joo-Joo Ashworth and Mo Troper.

Sparklmami - In This Body CD/LP (Verve)

Sparklmami is a Texas-raised, Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist of Mexican and Indian heritage who transcends mediums to build a world untethered to conventional structures. Having grown up singing in church, Sparklmami uses instinctual improvisation reminiscent of Brazilian jazz, experimental soul, Mexican bolero, and funk to express the sentient nature of being. On her debut album, we're immersed in a gorgeous pastiche of cascading vocal runs and breathy sighs, golden saxophone improvisations, and twinkling drum beats. Singing in both Spanish and English, Sparklmami dives into the murky and wondrous world of her childhood memories. Sonically, she is inspired by the glimmering, verdant jazz made in 1970s Brazil, as well as the open-hearted Mexican boleros she grew up listening to at home.

Vince Staples - Cry Baby CD/LP (Loma Vista)

Vince Staples is one of the most revered voices of his generation. Though he's a celebrated multi-hyphenate, making an impact in TV, film, & contemporary culture, music is where he most naturally pushes boundaries as an artist, storyteller, & creative force. Following a string of acclaimed introspective projects, Ramona Park (a melancholic tribute to his hometown) & Dark Times (deeper, more personal themes), Cry Baby is a more outwardly facing artistic statement and piece of social commentary. [Indie exclusive red vinyl pressing.]

Malcolm Todd - Do That Again LP (Columbia)

Malcolm has quickly emerged as one of alternative pop's most compelling young artists. In 2024, he introduced himself with his mixtape Sweet Boy, and 2025 saw the release of his self-titled debut. He recorded his latest album at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Chaplin Recording Studios in Los Angeles.

Victoryland - My Heart Is a Room with No Cameras in It LP (Many Hats)

Victoryland is the Brooklyn-based project of musician Julian McCamman. His label-debut is a triumphant, despondent, and ultimately fun experimental pop-rock album. Victoryland has been a project for 4 years, starting in Philly 2023 and releasing the tape Sprain, which echoed more of what the Philly scene was dishing out: lo-fi, tape-recorded rock with a capital R.

Rosa Walton - Tell Me It's a Dream CD/LP+7" (Transgressive)

The debut solo album from Rosa Walton, best known as one half of Let's Eat Grandma. Co-produced by David Wrench (Frank Ocean, Jamie XX, FKA twigs) Tell Me It's A Dream opens a new creative chapter for Walton, a record that expands her sonic world while remaining rooted in heartfelt vulnerability and bold ambition. Despite originating during a complicated period in Walton's life, the record ultimately celebrates love, friendship and creative freedom. For fans of Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy, Hayley Williams. [Indie exclusive yellow vinyl pressing with exclusive flexi disc featuring unreleased new song "There's No Such Thing as Horses."]

Bella White - A Sign in the Weather LP (Rounder)

The latest installment in Bella White's catalog, A Sign In The Weather, is a suite of songs that uncover new layers of White's soul-searching songwriting and stretch far beyond her bluegrass roots to arrive at a moodier and more audacious breed of folk/Americana. Co-produced by White and Ross Farbe (Esther Rose, Drugdealer), A Sign in the Weather ultimately brings a bold new energy to White's sophisticated musicality.

Widowspeak - Roses LP (Captured Tracks)

Widowspeak is a band that riffs on big emotions without being too self-serious. The sweetness, even silliness, of an extended limerent phase that becomes as all-consuming as a pulpy trade paperback. If music can simultaneously be naturalistic and noir, saturated and lush, that is Widowspeak. These songs use intimate moments to talk about deeper heartaches: the restlessness inherent in modern existence, waiting around for something to happen. Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas are the core of the group and its songwriters, and they have honed their sound across sixteen years and an impressively consistent catalog. The magic of the band is, still and always, the interplay between Molly and Robert in their two leading roles: her languid, textured voice and his visceral guitar playing.

Reissues, Comps, Live Recordings, Vault Excavations...

Abstract Tribe Unique - South Central Thynk Taynk CD/2xLP (Rhymesayers)

Originally released in 1998, South Central Thynk Taynk by Abstract Tribe Unique (Abstract Rude, Fat Jack, and DJ Drez) captures a pivotal moment in Los Angeles' underground scene-when young Black artists were reimagining hip-hop from the ground up. Blending jazz-inflected beats, spiritual insight, and fiercely independent production, the album became an anthem for self-reliance and creative rebellion. At the cultural core of the record is Project Blowed, the legendary L.A. collective founded by Abstract Rude and Aceyalone, which launched a lineage of boundary-pushing MCs and producers. While mainstream rap embraced the G-funk wave, Thynk Taynk carved an alternate path-steeped in poetry, politics, and visionary craft. [Red vinyl pressing.]

Curtis Amy - Tippin' On Through (Blue Note Tone Poet Edition) LP (Blue Note)

Tenor saxophonist Curtis Amy recorded his powerhouse live album, Tippin' On Through, for Pacific Jazz in 1962 at the Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach, California with a stacked sextet featuring Roy Brewster on trombone, Roy Ayers on vibraphone, John Houston on piano, Bob Whitlock on bass, and Lawrence Marable on drums. [Blue & red A/B side color vinyl pressing.]

Blood Incantation - All Gates Open (Original Soundtrack) 2LP+Blu-Ray/CD+Blu-Ray (Century Media)

Witness the recording of 'Absolute Elsewhere' from Blood Incantation with 'All Gates Open (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)'. The band reveals a light, beautiful and holistic side of their musical lexicon, serving as the pastoral "yang energy" to the dark atmosphere of 'Timewave Zero'. The soundtrack and documentary originally appeared only in the limited edition Artbook of 'Absolute Elsewhere'. This marks the first standalone release for both, including the first-ever vinyl pressing of the soundtrack. The included 73-minute documentary takes you inside the legendary Hansa Tonstudios. Go behind the scenes as the band rehearses and records with appearances by members of Tangerine Dream, Hällas and Sijjin, fully immersing themselves in Berlin's multifaceted culture. [Available on black vinyl and as an algae colored vinyl pressing.]

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago LP (Jagjaguwar)

Bon Iver's debut full-length For Emma, Forever Ago made major waves in critics' circles based on the strength of an early artist-pressed advance CD and a couple awe-inspiring sets at CMJ back in October 2007. The New York Times called it "irresistible" and Pitchfork stamped its early review of the album with a Recommended tag. For those of you hiding away in a cabin of your own, it's time that you hear the story, and more importantly, the music. [Eco-mix vinyl pressing.]

Burnt by the Sun - Soundtrack to the Personal Revolution LP (Relapse)
Burnt by the Sun - The Perfect is the Enemy of the Good LP (Relapse)

Case released his third studio album, Open Letter, on Def Jam in 2001. The album continues his smooth, mid-tempo R&B style, focusing heavily on love, heartbreak, commitment, and emotional reflection - framed as if Case is speaking directly to a partner through a personal letter. Musically, Open Letter blends contemporary R&B, soul, and soft hip-hop influences, with polished production typical of early-2000s R&B.

Christian Death - Only Theatre of Pain CD (Futurismo)

The iconic 1982 debut album by gothic legends Christian Death. Hailed as a masterpiece of its genre, and considered by many as ground zero for Deathrock, Only Theatre of Pain is a seminal work of unholy power and pitch-black emotion. Whilst this record may have its roots in punk - the origins of this true original version of Christian Death took place in Southern California during the early 80's hardcore explosion - it cannot be overstated how important this record was in shaping the subsequent landscape. Emerging like an adrenaline shot into the heart of darkness, this unrestrained and mysterious recording still remains unclassifiable.

Clutch - Earth Rocker LP (Weathermaker Music)

Clutch's 2013 masterpiece, Earth Rocker, is the next release in the Clutch Collector's Series. This single 12" gatefold album is reimagined and is curated by Neil Fallon. The artwork is in the vein of the original, yet strikingly different in the colors and the front cover die cuts. This is a limited-edition vinyl only release. The audio is remastered and the colored vinyl is called "Grape Ghost" by the manufacturer. Each album includes a numbered insert which is autographed by each band member.

Iris Dement - The Way I Should CD/LP (Yep Roc)

With The Way I Should, Iris DeMent stepped boldly into new territory, delivering a collection that balanced her fierce lyrical conviction with tender vulnerability. Released in 1996, this third studio album from the revered Americana singer-songwriter expanded on her folk and country roots, blending sharp political commentary with deeply personal storytelling.

Jackie DeShannon - Girl of Yesterday CD/LP (Real Gone Music)

Love Forever, the 2025 set of demos from Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Jackie DeShannon, set collector hearts a-flutter all over the world with its collection of introspective, folk rock-flavored tunes drawn from her unreleased recordings for Metric Music Publishing. Now, we're one-upping ourselves with Girl of Yesterday-Acoustic Folk Demos, a collection of completely unreleased acoustic folk demos from Jackie, penned for an album distributed by Metric in 1964. Accompanied only by her own accomplished fingerpicked acoustic guitar, DeShannon delivered a stunning set of heart-rendingly sung, haunting music imbued with the doubt, confusion, and excitement of finding adult identity. Although grounded in acoustic folk, it looked forward to both folk-rock and the singer-songwriter era in its lyrical maturity and melodic complexity.

Dinosaur Jr - You're Living All Over Me LP (Jagjaguwar)

The 1987 album from the trailblazing indie rock group. Eco-mix vinyl pressing.

Dry Kill Logic - The Darker Side of Nonsense LP (Real Gone Music)

Dry Kill Logic got lumped in with the "nu-metal" movement of the early oughts, but their 2001 debut The Darker Side of Nonsense wields a brutal sonic bludgeon of singular power. In fact, even Roadrunner, a label not known for pandering to popular taste, asked the band for a more commercial sound on its projected follow-up, which led to Dry Kill Logic's leaving for pastures less dedicated to green. On the 25th anniversary of its original release, Real Gone Music has remastered The Darker Side of Nonsense for its vinyl debut, and faithfully re-created the beautifully grotesque artwork with a jacket and color inner sleeve. [Milky clear vinyl pressing.]

Earth, Wind & Fire - Greatest Hits 2xLP (Sony Legacy)

During the 1970s a new brand of pop music was born and created by Earth, Wind & Fire - music that was steeped in African and African American styles - particularly jazz and R&B but appealing to a broader cross-section of the listening public. Greatest Hits features all the hits from one of music's best-selling bands with certified classics such as "September," "Let's Groove," "Boogie Wonderland," "After the Love Has Gone," "Fantasy," and "Shining Star."

Floating Points - Elaenia + Kuiper EP 2xLP (Luaka Bop)

Sam Shepherd's debut album as Floating Points, originally released in 2015. Includes bonus track "Precursor." By the time of this album's release, Shepherd had already made a name for himself through traveling the world as a DJ, and helping to develop the now legendary club Plastic People in London. Drawing influence from broken beat, spiritual jazz, and krautrock, and revered by critics, Elaenia was also the album that Pharoah Sanders first heard by him, and which set the foundation for their later collaboration, 2021's acclaimed Promises. This limited, color anniversary edition includes a new bonus track on the LP ("Precursor"), and also comes with the Kuiper EP, all in a hand-numbered gatefold jacket.

Ludwig Goransson - The Mandalorian and Grogu OST LP (Walt Disney Records)

The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu. The Mandalorian and Grogu original score features 13 brand-new score cues by Ludwig Göransson.

Grateful Dead - Dick's Picks Vol. 5 - Oakland Auditorium Arena 12/26/79 5xLP (Real Gone Music)

Taken from one of the Dead's annual year-end runs of Bay Area concerts, Dick's Picks Vol. 5 marked five straight volumes of '70s shows selected by archivist Dick Latvala to start the series, and as it was from one of the very last days of the decade, it was the perfect way for Dick to complete his own mini "tour" of the '70s. But Vol. 5 has a lot more going for it than just a convenient spot on the calendar; this is one of the rawest and most energetic Picks, a complete show anchored by a second set that is in essence one big medley that begins with "Uncle John's Band" and ends with it almost two hours later, with a supercharged "The Other One" and the first appearance of "Brokedown Palace" in two years among many high points in between. Set one is no slouch, either, with a great, Garcia-led rendition of "Alabama Getaway" four months before it appeared on record and a passionate vocal by Bob Weir on "Looks Like Rain" leading to a spirited, set-closing "The Promised Land." And throughout it all you'll hear Brent Mydland serving notice in one of his early shows with the band that he is fully up to the task of replacing Keith Godchaux.

Great White - Stage 2xCD (Deadline Music)

Reissue of this excellent live album from hard rockers Great White tearing up the stage in California in 1994 and 1993. Professionally recorded, engineered and mastered to the finest sonic quality that sounds better today than it was upon its initial release in 1995.

Hella - Hold Your Horse Is LP (5RC)

Debut album from the noise rock duo of guitarist Spencer Seim and drummer Zach Hill, originally released in 2002. On their debut "Hold Your Horse Is" Hella's style started to transform, organically. Zach was pushing the envelope rhythmically, and Spencer began to simultaneously play both rhythm and melody on the same instrument. [Eco-mix vinyl pressing.]

Don Henley - The End of Innocence 2xLP (Geffen)

Don Henley's 6x platinum solo album, originally released in 1989. The album is newly remastered from the original analog tapes (cut from tapes by Chris Bellman) and is available as a 2-LP set on 180-gram vinyl for the very first time.

Bobby Hutcherson - Components (Blue Note Tone Poet Edition) LP (Blue Note)

Bobby Hutcherson's 1965 album, Components, captured two sides of his musical personality with a sextet featuring Freddie Hubbard, James Spaulding, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Joe Chambers. Side A presents post-bop gems by Hutcherson like "Little B's Poem," while Side B explores Chambers' avant-garde pieces. This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket.

Kmoe - K1 LP (deadAir)

Kmoe is a young Canadian artist who emerged from the 2021 SoundCloud/Discord scene. Kmoe blends hyperpop and glitchy production with catchy indie-pop melodies and pitched up vocals. His sound is characterized as a "modern-day romantic" take on electronic music, heavily influenced by shoegaze, hip hop and experimental pop. [Red and black galaxy vinyl pressing.]

Life of Agony - River Runs Red LP (Real Gone Music)

Does the term "concept album" send visions of grand orchestral choruses and strange mythological creatures vaulting through your mind? Well, this album's gonna change your mind. Forever. 1993's River Runs Red is a concept album, all right, but its themes include alcoholism, physical abuse, and, ultimately, suicide. The record interpolates dramatic, staged skits that tell the story of a troubled teenager edging closer to self-harm between intensely personal songs penned by bassist Alan Robert that range stylistically from New York hardcore to gloom metal to grunge. [Clear with red and blue swirl vinyl pressing.]

Little Beaver - Party Down LP (Rhino)

The second album from Willie Hale (Little Beaver) that scored a #2 hit with its title track. Hale is joined by iconic musicians Betty Wright, Timmy Thomas, Latimore and Jaco Pastorius (under the name Nelson "Jocko" Padron) for an album of deep groove. This album has been cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and is pressed locally on 180 gram premium-quality vinyl at Fidelity Record Pressing's plant in Oxnard, California as part of the Rhino Reserve line.

Harpo Marx - Harpo Speaks!: The Riverside Symphony Concert featuring Peter And The Wolf CD/LP (Ramseur Records)

To listen to Harpo Speaks! Is to experience a brush with magic, astonished and captivated by the talent before you, and filled with wonder and gratitude for the privilege of witnessing it, whether in 1964 or today. Says Marx's son, Bill: "To have this recording be released and let people hear it is an honor. Dad didn't really want people to know what he sounded like because it would have destroyed the character of Harpo that he created. But I think, now, he would accept this graciously and gratefully because it goes beyond just seeing a guy being funny. It goes to the heart of what life is about: Doing what you love and doing it the best you can." As Harpo Marx's first and last live album, Harpo Speaks! places listeners in the room, immersed in the swell of the Riverside Orchestra as Marx performs alongside the symphony and leads them in a narration of Peter and the Wolf.

Meat Puppets - Forbidden Places LP (Real Gone Music)

Indie-rock darlings the Meat Puppets didn't miss a meat, er, beat with their move from SST to the major London label and their release of 1991's Forbidden Places. In fact, the album arguably represented a step up from their late-period work at SST, displaying that offhandedly brilliant charm that won the band so many fans in the first place. The album opener "Sam" is a frenzied rocker that recalls the early days with maniacal, "auctioneer"-style vocals, and the album closing, pickin' and spinnin' instrumental "Six Gallon Pie" is equally breakneck in tempo and dazzling in execution. An essential piece of the Puppets' catalog, finally widely available at retail on vinyl for the first time since its release 35 years ago. [Coke clear with yellow swirl vinyl pressing.]

Musiq Soulchild - Luvanmusiq 2xLP (Get On Down)

Reissue of the neo-soul artist's 2007 studio album.

Os Mutantes - Everything Is Possible! The Best of Os Mutantes LP (Luaka Bop)

"The late 60s in Brasil produced an explosion of creativity that is still reverberating throughout the world... and Os Mutantes (The Mutants) were the most outrageous band of that period. Their creative cannibalism produced psychedelic gems unlike anything else, and they sound as relevant today as anything happening anywhere." - David Byrne, 1999 [Crystal Blue Persuasion color vinyl pressing.]

Skooshny - The Recordings 1971-1981 CD (Think Like a Key Records)

Expanded reissue of the cult 1991 Skooshny compilation, now collecting all twenty-one of the LA power-pop trio's recordings from 1971 to 1981 - including four tracks new to this edition. Formed in Los Angeles by Chicago transplants Mark Breyer and David Winogrond, later joined by guitarist Bruce Wagner, Skooshny self-released a handful of singles on their own Alien Records label that earned glowing reviews - Bomp! compared Breyer's voice to a young Brian Wilson and the music to a folkier Big Star - before becoming prized collector's items in Europe. Spanning basement demos, home-studio sessions, and recordings made at Michael Penn's backyard four-track, this essential collection traces a decade of instinctive, melodic songwriting.

Elliott Smith - Roman Candle LP (Kill Rock Stars)

2025 release from the hardcore group from San Jose, CA. [Orange and black with white splatter vinyl pressing.]

Swallow - Blown 2xCD (4AD)

A forgotten gem from the 4AD catalogue, Swallow were the heart of the early '90s dream-pop and shoegaze scene, yet never quite found the audience they deserved. The duo of Mike Mason and Louise Trehy crafted lush, atmospheric songs full of hazy guitars and delicate vocals. Bringing together the original Blow and Blowback EP along with two previously unreleased session tracks including a newly completed title song, Blown is a long-overdue celebration of one of shoegaze's most quietly influential voices.

Dudu Tassa & the Kuwaitis - El Hajar LP (World Circuit)

Reissue of the 2019 album.

Allen Toussaint - Life, Love and Faith LP (Rhino)

One of the greatest architects of the New Orleans sound, Allen Toussaint spent more than a decade crafting hits for others before focusing on a solo career in the 1970s. Life, Love and Faith was the singer-songwriter-producer’s first for Reprise Records and its dozen originals offer a master class in R&B. “Victims of the Darkness,” “She Once Belonged to Me” and “On Your Way Down” are among the 1972 collection’s many highlights, with ace instrumentalists including members of The Meters helping out in the studio. Rhino Reserve 180 gram vinyl release.

The Union of a Man and a Woman - The Sound of... LP (Jagjaguwar)

Blistering avant-punk made by Virginia teens, 'The Sound of…The Union of a Man and a Woman' squealed and squalled and ear-piercingly feedbacked its way into Charlottesville legend in 1998 and thusly our dilated hearts. Formed when Neil Campbell, John Harouff and Kurt Beals were pre-teens, The Union of… was fully formed when they released their debut (and only) album, careening from Big Black racket to stretched-out Dead C art-rock. Minor Threat graduating from the Glenn Branca Academy of Compositional Fuckery. And coming in white hot with a raw, uninhibited spirit only available to us in those treacherous and glorious late teenage years. “Are Your New Shoes Fit for the New Dance?” sounds as fresh as it did in 1998.
