Hitting The Racks
Here's your weekly rundown of what's hitting the new release racks at Grimey's
New Releases
2nd Grade - Girls and Boys CD/LP (Lame-O)
Since the 2018 inception of 2nd Grade, Philadelphia-based songwriter and producer Peter Gill (also guitarist for the alt-country band Friendship) has conjured a series of spectacular new worlds via the launch pad of 20th century guitar pop, somehow zooming miles past its hallmark tropes precisely by following them to their logical ends. Girls and Boys is 2nd Grade's first with Lame-O Records, a collection of twenty songs, none breaking three minutes, replete with irresistible guitar riffs, power chords, frenzied drumbeats and whirlwind melody. Songs of vertiginous complexity that you still can't stop humming. On Girls and Boys, 2nd Grade repeatedly achieves the perfect pop song's miraculous trick: making it look easy.
Aluminum - Iconoclast HaHa LP (Felte Records)
On Iconoclast HaHa, San Francisco four-piece Aluminum take the genre synthesis of their debut - equal parts shoegaze, big beat, and alt-pop - and raise the temperature to a boil. Songwriters and lead vocalists Marc Leyda and Ryann Gonsalves continue to strike a balance between pop catchiness and experimental abandon while infusing each song with spontaneity, immediacy, and post-punk tenacity. "We intended for this to be a more guitar-forward album," notes Leyda, "so we recorded through Marshall stacks to give it a heavier feel, and to get a faster, more punkish sound that will be massive and immersive in a live setting."
Miguel Ferguson-Atwood - ANANTA: Spirit Of Coltrane CD/LP (Impulse)
A new album from composer, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist Miguel Atwood-Ferguson paying tribute to John Coltrane’s legacy in honor of his 100th birthday. On ANANTA, Atwood-Ferguson leads a 21-piece collective of musicians at the top of their craft, including Brandee Younger, Jeff Parker, Flying Lotus, Immanuel Wilkins, Shabaka Hutchings, Azar Lawrence, and Joel Ross. Also featured is an original composition with words by poet Aja Monet. The album is intended to be a celebration of both Coltrane’s musical and spiritual legacy.
Black Mekon - 13 Songs About Monsters (PNKSLM Recordings)
Cult favourites Black Mekon have spent more than 15 years touring around the world and releasing a series of acclaimed under-the-radar albums, perfecting their signature blend of lo-fi garage rock, punk and blues. Having shared the stage with the likes of Jon Spencer, Black Lips, Kid Congo and The Scientists, the band was recently hand-picked to open for Jack White, not long after completing yet another tour of Japan with Guitar Wolf. 13 Songs About Monsters is just what it says on the tin, a collection of horror infused garage rock bangers.
Briar - Aeterna Memoria LP (You've Changed)
Briar is the new expression on the ever-curious path of Daniel Romano. Briar is an act of sacred imagination and symbol of duality. It is cosmic and immediate. Beautifully sung and played entirely on acoustic instruments, Briar furthers the psychedelic folk journeys that have run parallel to Daniel Romano's street level rock and roll work with the powerful and beloved Outfit. Devoted and yearning, deeply human and embodied, Briar was recorded on an eight track cassette machine with a Royer 121 and a Sennheiser 409. It was mixed down to a two track Marantz cassette machine by Daniel Romano.
Sam Burton - Fairweather Friend CD/LP (Captured Tracks)
The Captured Tracks debut from LA/Salt Lake City-based Palestinian-American indie folk artist Sam Burton. Inspired by classic greats like Townes Van Zandt and Bob Dylan, Burton builds on this tradition as "a genuinely striking songwriter" (MOJO) of today. Sonically, the album blends together Burton's stripped-down guitars and melancholy voice creating a timeless sound. Fairweather Friend features production by Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Angel Olsen, Margo Price).
Kaitlin Butts - Hello, Honky Tonk CD/LP (Republic)
Kaitlin Butts’ new album brings the colorful denizens of Butts’ own fantasy establishment — “Katie B’s saloon” — to life. "This album really is my love letter to honky tonks and the night life,” Butts shares. But a funny thing happened on the way to the bar. As Butts was writing the songs in late 2025 and early 2026, both on her own and with a murderers’ row of collaborators, she took detours to Broadway and Disney World, drawing inspiration from the musical Chicago and The Country Bear Jamboree, respectively. [Jamboree pink vinyl pressing.]
Darkest Hour - Suffer Divine CD/LP (MNRK Heavy)
Washington, D.C. metalcore pioneers Darkest Hour return with their ferocious eleventh studio album, Suffer Divine. For over two and a half decades, the band has masterfully fused the aggression of New Wave of American Heavy Metal with the melodic precision of Scandinavian death metal scene. This latest offering cements their legacy as relentless innovators of the genre. Darkest Hour has survived trends by staying fiercely true to their underground roots.
DIIV - Zirp! CD/LP (Fantasy)
ZIRP! Is the new album from DIIV, produced by pop mastermind A.G. Cook. "This is not a niche record for music understanders only. This is our POP record. This is our extremely accessible mainstream alternative rock record. What does alternative mean? We are saying, ZIRP! is what it means. Are we joking? Not really. This record is FUN. "Frog" was serious, ZIRP! Is fun. It was fun to make, and it is fun to listen to. Life is hard. ZIRP! Is easy." [Indie exclusive gold color vinyl pressing.]
Ex:Re - Save As CD/LP (4AD)
There is no grand, overarching storyline to Save As, the second solo album from Elena Tonra's Ex: Re project. Rather, the album - produced by Fabian Prynn and also featuring Josephine Stephenson on cello, Hinako Omori on synthesisers, Ben Reed on bass and Jethro Fox on electric guitar - is the latest in the Daughter lead singer's catalogue of expert chronicles of the gnawing minutiae of human consciousness: the over-thinking that consumes us, and the places we travel to escape. The title of album opener "Radio Station", which begins with stately strummed acoustic guitar and morphs into a trippy song about an endless California roadtrip, is a metaphor for how Tonra feels about her mind. "I end up getting stuck because I can't make decisions," she says. Demo recordings live on in many of the final cuts, as on "Sleep", which Tonra first recorded in a hotel room in Paris. [Indie exclusive eco gray color vinyl pressing.]
God of War - Molly Picture CD/LP (Julia's War)
Sophomore album from the indietronica / neo-psychedelia trio of Douglas Dulgarian (They Are Gutting a Body of Water), Scott Turner (hooky) and Sam Silbert (hooky, circle of fire).
The Haunt - Ghost CD/LP (Nettwerk)
The sophomore album by The Haunt is a triumphant victory lap, coming hot on the heels of their debut album New Addiction. The South Florida alt-rock band led by the sister and brother duo of Anastasia (vocals) and Maxamillion Haunt (guitar/production) are heavily influenced by dark pop and modern rock bands such as Bring Me the Horizon, Evanescence, and Paramore. Produced by John Feldmann (Avril Lavigne, The Used, Sleeping With Sirens) and Kevin Thrasher (Escape The Fate, Jelly Roll), Ghost balances smoky, soulful vocals with cinematic soundscapes, underpinned by shuddering rock, glitchy synth transmissions, and gothic electronic nuances that conjure a singular vision equally steeped in pop noir and controlled industrial chaos.
Ryan Hemsworth - Numbskull LP (Topshelf Records)
Having worked with the likes of Alex G, Tinashe, Mitski, and countless others over a 15-year span, Ryan Hemsworth has developed an uncanny ear for talent while simultaneously honing his craft as a shapeshifting producer comfortable in any genre setting. On Numbskull, Hemsworth squares a tangled mix of influences ranging from shoegaze to lo-fi to metal, all squeezed through the lens of his globe-trotting pop background. Hemsworth embraces these heavy, distorted influences on the blown-out lead single "One Step," a blaring foundation for the boisterous vocal performance delivered by Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties. [Yellow vinyl pressing.]
Kelly Hunt - Requiem for a Sleepless Night LP (Compass Records)
Memphis native Kelly Hunt returns with her most contemporary and personal album to date: Requiem for a Sleepless Night, a third full-length written in the disorienting hours of insomnia and recorded in taut trio form with acclaimed producer Dirk Powell and his daughter, Amelia Powell, on harmony vocals.
I've - Looks Can Kill CD (Starship Ent Monsta)
I've's new EP Looks Can Kill introduces a bold new chapter in their evolving universe, centered on the concept of the "Girl Hero." Exploring confidence, control, transformation, freedom, and inspiration, the album expands I've's signature identity through six distinct tracks, ranging from powerful electronic sounds to dreamy and experimental textures.
Jennie - Fallen Angel CD (Columbia)
The new studio EP from artist, entrepreneur, and global superstar Jennie, released in collaboration with ODDATELIER & Columbia Records.
Mike James Kirkland - The Business LP (Ubiquity Records)
Following the 2025 release of lead single "Glowin'," Mike James Kirkland returns with his long-awaited full-length album, The Business. Backed by Monophonics, Kirkland delivers a rich, horn-driven collection that seamlessly blends upbeat soul with heartfelt ballads, reaffirming his place as one of the genre's enduring voices. Producer Kelly Finnigan channels the lush sophistication of Philly soul on "Where Did We Go Wrong," layering horns, flute, French horn, and sitar beneath Kirkland's reflection on love in turmoil. Finnigan also arranges the romantic "Leading Lady," while joining Kirkland on background vocals for the tender "Remembering Our Love."
Pokey Lafarge - Rent Money CD (Diggers Factory)
For two decades, Pokey LaFarge has walked his own effortlessly cool road as an exceptionally iconoclastic troubadour - forthright, genuine, and markedly keen to put it all out there. Rent Money now sees him pushing forward yet again in what can be safely declared his finest collection to date, both as an heartfelt expression of personal experience and as no-nonsense social commentary. With its twanging guitars, plucky rhythms, and undeniably captivating melodies, the album soars and swings, its joyous refrains belying the inescapable undercurrent of constant worry and angst that permeates these troubled times.
Stella Lefty - Long Way Home CD (Ten Thousand Project)
The debut album from singer-songwriter Stella Lefty, featuring "Boston."
Ministry - Hate To Go: Take Out Or Delivery CD (Cleopatra)
The final studio album from the industrial metal giants. Al Jourgensen settles all scores and takes Ministry back to its legendary Sire/Wax Trax! Era. Features a special guest appearance by former Ministry & Revolting Cocks partner, Paul Barker.
Moody Joody - Plain Jane LP (Photo Finish Records)
Nashville indie-pop trio Moody Joody make a striking first impression with their debut album Plain Jane. Bursting with shimmering hooks, driving guitars, and infectious melodies, the album pairs irresistible indie-pop energy with sharp songwriting and emotional depth. Following its titular heroine through relationships, transformation, societal expectations, and self-discovery, Plain Jane is a bold, cathartic statement from one of Nashville pop's most exciting emerging voices.
Nickelback - Everything Under the Sun CD (Nickelback)
Nickelback is reclaiming the throne with a new project that fuses the raw, mid-2000s rock power of Silver Side Up with the massive stadium anthems of All the Right Reasons. [Indie exclusive smoke color vinyl pressing.]
No Pressure - NP Style LP (Triple B Records)

Produced by Anderson East and executive produced by Dave Cobb, Buried Treasures gathers together classic songs made popular by seminal voices such as Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole, as well as essential songs written by Billy Joe Shaver, Paul Simon, and Bill Withers. [Gold color vinyl pressing.]
Piss - You Made Me / Skin on Linen CD/LP/cassette (Sub Pop)
Piss is a noisy, genre-bending four-piece band from Vancouver, B.C. Combining punk, poetry, sound collage, performance art, and visual art, the band creates a multidisciplinary body of work that blurs the line between personal and political. Their work draws inspiration from a range of unexpected influences: literary giants, philosophers, filmmakers, painters, psychoanalysts, activists, children, members of a German anarcho-feminist militant group, and conversations with audience members. Their debut album depicts a childhood shaped by structural, systemic, and intimate violence. Throughout the record, art-making motifs serve as metaphors for the myriad ways we carry the effects of this violence: each experience leaves an impression, gradually creating or deforming the self, much like a piece of clay molded by every mark it receives.
Queens of the Stone Age - Perfecth CD/LP (Matador)
The ninth album from Queens of the Stone Age arrives at a moment of hard-won clarity for the band. The record's nine songs map different forms of love: of family, friends, and others. The loves that break you and the loves that bring you back. The music is fearless and boundless, moody and menacing, gentle and strange. "Insignificant Other" is the album's centerpiece - sprawling, loose, and supernatural. "Mono" captures the headspinning feeling of heartbreak with a mix that slips seamlessly from mono to stereo and from claustrophobia to widescreen orchestral grandeur. [Indie exclusive clear vinyl pressing.]
Radio Free Alice - What's In Between CD/LP (Atlantic)
Debut album from the Australian post-punk outfit, blending driving rhythms, sharp guitars, and introspective songwriting. [Indie exclusive cream color vinyl pressing with autographed insert.]
Marc Ribot Quartet - Hurry Red Telephone CD (Pi Recordings)
For more than four decades, guitarist Marc Ribot has made a career out of refusing to stay in one place, moving restlessly between jazz, rock, No Wave, singer/songwriter, solo guitar, music for film, Cuban music, and free improvisation, all while leaving an unmistakable imprint on everything he touches. With Hurry Red Telephone, Ribot returns with his first all-instrumental album since 2014's highly-lauded Live at the Village Vanguard, which featured drummer Chad Taylor and the late bassist Henry Grimes. It reunites him with Taylor in an eponymously-named band recorded over two separate sessions: one with tenor saxophonists James Brandon Lewis and Brian Settles with bassists Hilliard Greene; and another with alto saxophonist Briggan Krauss and bassist Sebastian Steinberg (a veteran of Shrek and other Ribot experiments of the early 1990's). [Vinyl edition due out 11/6.]
Satanic Planet - Dead Deities CD/LP (Relapse)
On Dead Deities, we see a band coming into its own while offering an aggressive, pitch-black, deeply surly call-to-arms against autocracy in the age of Christian nationalism. Lucien Greaves (The Satanic Temple co-founder and spokesperson), Luke Henshaw (Planet B, Sonido de la Frontera, First Power Crew, Variations In the Key of the Afterlife), Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Misfits, Mr. Bungle, Dead Cross), and Justin Pearson (The Locust, Swing Kids, Deaf Club) are now a fully together-in-the-studio band with razor-sharpened focus, creating a sound and lyrical catalog of ideas that Greaves says is both more personal and even closer aligned to the goals of The Satanic Temple, which through art, action, and activism seeks to "encourage benevolence and empathy, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practiced common sense, oppose injustice, and undertake noble pursuits." [Indie exclusive onyx marble color vinyl pressing.]
Serengeti - KennyV CD/LP (Backwoodz Studioz)
Serengeti, one of hip-hop's most singular and imaginative storytellers, returns to the expansive world of Kenny Dennis with KennyV. For more than a decade, Serengeti has used his mustachioed, Chicago-born alter ego to build one of rap's funniest, strangest, and most unexpectedly poignant character studies. Kenny is a blue-collar hero, family man, sports obsessive, aspiring entertainer, and endlessly unreliable narrator whose everyday victories, anxieties, grudges, and digressions have grown into a richly detailed mythology all their own. KennyV opens another chapter in that saga, balancing absurdist humor, intricate world-building, sharp wordplay, and genuine emotional weight.
Sleep - Hempispheres CD/LP (Third Man)
As the genre-defying masters of stoner metal, the latest iteration of Sleep finds founding member and lead songwriter Al Cisneros newly partnered with the generational talent of Dale Crover (Melvins, Redd Kross) on drums and the iconoclastic Bubba Dupree (Void) on guitar. While simpler minds may seek out the redundancy of a monotonous iterative exercise, the road map of new album Hempispheres is an exploratory vision, one replacing overload with nuance and subtlety yet maintaining the interplay that made the band so special from the outset. [Indie exclusive purple vinyl pressing.]
Surprise Chef - Frogs in a Pond CD (Concord Records)
Recently released on vinyl, now available on CD. Frogs in a Pond is an examination into, and an expression of, a shared human experience. The Australia-based jazz-funk quintet found inspiration from European film composers working in the late 60s and early 70s. The music expresses musical themes with a cinematic landscape of moods and feelings that evoke emotion without the listener having watched the film for which the music was composed, pushing boundaries that dictate a unique perspective to their music.
Thao - Show Me CD/LP (Kill Rock Stars)
THAO (Thao Nguyen) is a singer-songwriter best known for her boundary-pushing indie rock work both as a solo artist and as frontwoman of Thao & The Get Down Stay Down. On her sixth studio album Show Me, she turns inward with an unflinching, real-time document of rebuilding, centering a hard-won openness to love and vulnerability. Across 11 emotionally charged tracks, she blends raw storytelling with expansive, collaborative production (including Merrill Garbus of Tune-Yards, The Linda Linda's, Neko Case, and Adrian Quesada) to explore desire, forgiveness, and self-reinvention. [Eco graphite color vinyl pressing.]
Richard Thompson - Hippies, Thugs and Heroes 2xLP (New West Records)
Recently released on CD, now available on vinyl. Sixty years into a career that began with Fairport Convention and has spanned decades as one of rock's most acclaimed singer-songwriters, Richard Thompson is still chasing surprise. On Hippies, Thugs and Heroes, he let's his subconscious take the wheel, pulling from a cast of old friends, false gurus, former selves, and invented characters who insisted on having their stories told. What emerges is a spiritual inquiry disguised as a rock record - a meditation on the towers we build and the ruin that follows when we invest in them too completely. [Indie exclusive splatter color vinyl pressing.]
X-Cops - Confidential 7" (Pit Records)
X-Cops return with 3 brand new songs for recently fired law enforcement officials everywhere. Cop blue vinyl pressing.
Yr Knives - Begin Yr Singing LP (Western Vinyl)
Yr Knives is a Chicago instrumental quartet built around two overdriven guitars merging into something neither could produce alone. Guitarists Andrew Trim (Hanami) and Brian J Sulpizio (Health & Beauty) are joined by bassist Douglas McCombs (Tortoise) and drummer Quin Kirchner. Two come up as rock players, two as jazz players, and the music lives in how closely they listen across those languages. Their debut, Begin Yr Singing, is searching, exploratory, and grounded.

The Black Heart Procession - Three LP (Touch & Go)
The Black Heart Procession consists of two main songwriters, Tobias Nathaniel and Pall A. Jenkins, who both were in three mile pilot. Originally released in 2000, Three is The Black Heart Procession's third full-length release. The band breaks hearts with the melded sounds of piano, saw, pump organs, guitar, trumpet and vocals as well as the odd percussive instrument. The sounds may cause some of you pain or joy, or both, as their music rings out with sorrow and heartache, yet there is an underlying element of emancipation. Mario Rubalcaba (clikitat ikitowi), Jason Crane (rocket from the crypt), and Kazu Makino (blonde redhead) chipped in on the making of Three.

The B-side features an exclusive etched design created especially for this edition. [Violet color vinyl pressing.]
The Catburgers - Galashiels LP (Slumberland)
Recently released on CD, now available on vinyl. The Catburgers formed in Edinburgh, Scotland in late 1985, inspired by a chance encounter seeing The Television Personalities live and the explosion of DIY pop that was rolling across the UK at the time. They quickly developed a driving, melodic sound that balanced a love of 60s pop with a moody, almost post-punk edge that fit right in with fellow Scottish pop bands like The Pastels, as well bands on labels like Creation and Dreamworld. Galashiels collects the band's previously unreleased late '80s recordings. Songs like "I've Got a Friend" and "The First Day of Spring" are thrilling, bursting with youthful enthusiasm and solid gold tunes, the kind of songs that would have been on a thousand mixtapes if released at the time.
The Chills - Submarine Bells LP (Rhino)
The Chills' second album from 1990 is their much-praised major label debut. A rich tapestry of sound built around Martin Phillipps' off-kilter vocal; all accent, all attitude, it reels around folk-like couplets with brusque punk swagger fed through psychedelic hues; so timeless it still simmers beautifully. It includes the effervescent, euphoric opener 'Heavenly Pop Hit'. 180 gram Rhino Reserve pressing.

Alice Cooper - Goes to Hell LP (Rhino)
Goes to Hell finds Alice Cooper leaning fully into his dark, mischievous persona with a slicker, more conceptual edge. Released at the peak of his '70s run, the album blends hard rock, glam, and theatrical storytelling into a twisted journey through temptation, excess, and damnation. Anchored by catchy hooks, glossy production, and Cooper's unmistakable snarl, tracks like "Go to Hell" and "You Gotta Dance" balance menace with tongue-in-cheek humor. 180 gram Rhino Reserve vinyl pressing.
The Cramps - Flamejob LP (Rhino)
One of the most important rock bands of our time, The Cramps breathed life back into long-dead rock'n'roll in the late seventies by applying the anarchic energy of punk to the most primal origins of rock. This 1994 album is a perfect introduction to what makes The Cramps such a special piece of pure, unadulterated rock'n'roll. 180 gram Rhino Reserve vinyl pressing.
DJ Spanish Fly - Cadillac Warning LP (Untitled (Recs))
DJ Spanish Fly is one of the foundational figures of Memphis rap. Long before the city's underground sound would influence artists across the globe, his homemade mixtapes circulated hand-to-hand throughout Tennessee and the wider South, defining a raw, bass-heavy style that would become the blueprint for generations of rap producers. Cadillac Warning collects a wealth of previously unreleased recordings from the 1990s, excavating the eerie, hypnotic world Fly built from primitive home recording equipment, drum machines and booming car stereos. Championed by the likes of A$AP Rocky, Legowelt, LIM, and more.

This release brings together the complete recordings from the legendary 1978 and 1979 sessions. Moving beyond the psychedelic garage blues of the 13th Floor Elevators, the band created harder, more ferocious rock built around jagged guitars, strange melodies and a propulsive rhythm section. Produced by Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist Stu Cook, The Evil One includes some of Erickson's most celebrated recordings, including 'Two Headed Dog', 'I Walked With A Zombie' and 'It's A Cold Night For Alligators'.

The result is a record that moves between experimental club music, organic electronica, Latin American underground sounds, downtempo, field-recording-led production and global dance music, all rooted in the natural world.
Steve Gunn - Sundowner LP (Three Lobed Recordings)
Originally released on LP in 2010 in a small and not-formally-distributed version. Pressed from the same metal mother as the 2010 edition, this album represents one of Gunn's earliest gut punches. Ricardo Marreto & The Group - A Taste CD/LP (Mr Bongo)
It doesn't get much more special than this one. The music industry loves throwing around phrases like 'rare as hens' teeth' and 'holy grail', but Ricardo Marrero & The Group's 1976 album A Taste genuinely earns them. Though categorised as a 'Latin' album, it incorporates so much more. It has a warm, boundary-pushing sound and a lush fusion of Latin, jazz-funk, and soul with a cinematic edge; it's varied yet feels complete as a whole. One of the crown jewels of the album is the much-loved Latin funk anthem 'Babalonia'. Whether you're a Latin enthusias or someone who wants to investigate and dig into the genre for the first time, this record has something for everyone.

Mitski - Puberty 2 (10th Anniversary Edition) LP (Dead Oceans)
Ask Mitski Miyawaki about happiness and she'll warn you: "Happiness f***s you." It's a lesson that's been writ large into her gritty, outsider songwriting for years, but never so powerfully as on her 2016 album, Puberty 2. "Happiness is up, sadness is down, but one's almost more destructive than the other, " she says. "When you realize you can't have one without the other, it's possible to spend periods of happiness just waiting for that other wave." On Puberty 2, that tension is palpable: a beautiful and brutal romantic hinterland, in which one of modern music's defining voices came fully into focus. [Forest Shadow color vinyl pressing.]

Porno for Pyros' Good God's Urge is a darker, more atmospheric evolution of the band's sound, blending alternative rock with touches of psychedelia, worldbeat, and introspective lyricism. Released in 1996, the album leans into moody textures and unconventional rhythms, creating a sense of unease that runs beneath its hypnotic grooves. Slint - Untitled - Albini Rough Mixes 12" (Touch & Go Records)
Despite Steve Albini relentlessly advocating for Touch and Go Records to release Tweez in 1989, the label declined. A few weeks later, Steve invited Slint to an impromptu recording session to make use of some studio time booked by another band who did not show up. At the end of the session, Steve did a quick mix for the band to take home. The next day, Steve dropped off a tape of those mixes at the Touch and Go office, which blew the label head's minds and led to their releasing Slint's classic record Spiderland. $uicideboy$ - Stop Staring At The Shadows LP (G59 Records)
2020 mixtape. Leading up to Stop Staring at the Shadows, $uicideboy$ had already made a home in the darkness, swirling sinister, Juicy J-indebted soundscapes with punk melodies, nihilistic lyrics, and sprightly triple-time flows that sound like a devil's incantation. From the time they dropped their first projects in 2014, the duo comprising $crim and Ruby da Cherry merged the past and present for dozens of exhilarating releases that could be hedonistic, reflective, and cathartic-the type of transformation that happens when the sky is jet black. Their grim, surrealistic aesthetic remains on Stop Staring, with traces of profound humanity sandwiched between pummeling flows and hymns to opiates.

Various Artists - Who's Watching O.S.T. LP (15 Passenger)
The original motion picture soundtrack for Tim Kasher's (Cursive, The Good Life) new directorial effort Who's Watching. The 13-song collection is split into a side A that contains songs by Toxic Cock Syndrome and a side B that holds the score, as well as a new Cursive song, "Wounded Animal." Just WHO is Toxic Cock Syndrome? A metal "band" featured prominently throughout the film: Caleb Sampson (played by Zachary Ray Sherman) on bass, Chris (played by Radkey's Darrion Lewis) on guitar/vocals, and Tony (played by Radkey's Isaiah Radke) on drums. Their intentionally odd, aggressive, and immature songs serve as a window into the disturbed protagonist of the film-a darkly humorous and unsettling psychological horror thriller about the male gaze that subverts both stalker and found footage tropes. [Red vinyl pressing.]
The Zombies - Continue Here CD/LP (Beechwood Park Recs)
