Hitting The Racks

Here's your weekly rundown of what's hitting the new release racks at Grimey's

New Releases

Babehoven - I See Them, I See Me LP (Double Double Whammy)

Released 10/16 on CD; now available on vinyl. The third album from the Hudson NY based indie folk duo of Maya Bon and Ryan Albert. For the first time in Babehoven's prolific output, Bon and Albert blew the doors open on their process, inviting in three different engineers to capture the songs in four different studios. The all-star line-up includes Sam Evian, Kevin Copeland, and Phil Weinrobe, who also acted as co-producer. From the opening track "You're a Liar," the band establishes a new palette: a rollicking blend of indie and alt-country that sparkles with slide guitar, hardanger fiddle, and a sprightly vocal twang paying homage to Emmylou Harris and Patsy Cline, with classic folk-rock artists like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and The Band as further touchstones.

Rayland Baxter - True Violet CD/LP (ATO Records)

For half a year, Rayland Baxter wrote every night about everything and nothing at all, sat in a chair next to his bed at his home outside of Nashville. From that trove of material came his 5th studio album True Violet, a sweeping, tender, sometimes raucous ode to the processes of undoing, reckoning and reconciliation.

Blxst - Labor of Love CD/LP (International Blxst)

For South Central's premier singer, songwriter, and producer, success was never an overnight accident; it was a blueprint executed with meticulous precision. With his highly anticipated new project, Blxst delivers a masterclass in modern West Coast R&B and Hip-Hop, proving that true artistry requires both sweat and soul. The album serves as a sonic manifesto on the price of ambition, the weight of loyalty, and the delicate balance of maintaining romance while building an empire. It stands as a definitive evolution of the distinct sound Blxst pioneered, blending crisp, trunk-thumping 808s with soulful, nostalgic chords and his signature, effortlessly smooth vocal runs.

Brothers Osborne - Watertown CD/LP (MCA)

The new record from country duo Brothers Osborne, including "Tough Kid (feat. Stephen Wilson Jr.)," and "Born and Raised Hell (feat. Cody Johnson)." [Indie exclusive sandbar color vinyl pressing.]

Rachel Chinouriri - I Think I Spoke Too Soon CD (Parlophone)

Released 10/16 on vinyl; now available on CD. The second studio album from the English singer-songwriter, featuring collaborations with Lucy Dacus and Mary Weitz.

Claud - Me and the Music CD/LP (Dead Oceans)

Me and the Music is Claud's first album in three years, since 2023's acclaimed Supermodels. Both Supermodels and 2021's Super Monster, were largely inspired by "this one situationship" that, they realised sometime during the writing of Me and the Music, "really wasn't ever anything." Me and the Music's MO is songs that capture the knottiness of growing up and existing in the world that don't lose a sense of playfulness or fun. It's a quintessential slice-of-life record, touching on new romance and inside jokes and Gap commercials and the band America and the place America, and treating all those things with care and consideration. Me and the Music was produced by Claud and John Congleton (Alvvays, St. Vincent) and represents a full-circle moment for Claud, who finally felt, with this record, that they were a confident enough producer to assume a co-producer role. [Blue vinyl pressing.]

Anthony Roth Costanzo - Countertenor CD (Nonesuch)

A striking showcase for one of opera's most acclaimed modern voices, featuring repertoire that highlights Anthony Roth Costanzo's remarkable artistry and vocal range.

Gus Dapperton - 4 Dear Life CD/LP (Alter Music)

The fourth studio album from multi-platinum indie/alternative trailblazer Gus Dapperton. An independent artist for the first time in years, at the close of his twenties, he felt like he needed a clean slate to find his musical practice again. Pairing dance-driven production with his signature songwriting, the album may sound like a departure from his previous work, but it's his most honest and grounded to date. 4 Dear Life isn't about escaping the world, it's about finding enough joy to live in it. [Indie exclusive starburst vinyl pressing.]

Dis Fig - What to Make of These Mortal Hands LP (Thrill Jockey)

The work of producer and vocalist Felicia Chen, a.k.a. Dis Fig, embraces every facet of heaviness. Chen is driven by a desire to express deeper emotions through meticulously crafted, innovative production and expressive vocals. On acclaimed collaborations with The Bug, The Body, and Asian Dope Boys, Chen's sound is indelible. What To Make Of These Mortal Hands is an ambitious widening of Dis Fig's scope, traversing tectonic dynamic shifts and heartrending arrangements in a filmic study of humanity's capacity to create both beauty and devastation. [Indie exclusive metallic silver vinyl pressing.]

Patrick Droney - Made You Look LP (Warner Records)

The singer, songwriter, and virtuoso guitarist presents his third studio album, featuring standout tracks such as "Back In My Body" and "Growing A Garden." [Red vinyl pressing.]

Forbidden - Forbidden CD (Frontiers Records)

Forbidden's legacy is one of being the youngest, hungriest and most ambitious of the Bay Area brethren that has launched metal paradigm-shifters from Metallica to Machine Head. With a reconstituted lineup, guitarist Craig Locicero and bassist Matt Camacho, have crafted an hour-plus masterpiece of thrashy predilection, emotive musical movements, and prog-scraping sonic ambitions. From the intensity of opening track, "Single Point Failure" to the philosophical shades of 9-minute closer, "Flower of Life", this is the sound of a band with a new sense of scope and purpose.

The Fretliners - When the Kettle Sings CD (Hook Set Records)

The Fretliners are a band defined by their songwriting - stories carried by powerful harmonies, dynamic arrangements, and a sound that feels both timeless and new. Their music leans into the tradition of acoustic string instruments but reaches well beyond genre, resonating with listeners through honesty and craft. In 2023, they swept both the Telluride Bluegrass and RockyGrass band competitions-an achievement matched only once before. That fall, their debut self-titled album earned widespread acclaim, praised for its originality and heartfelt lyricism. With songs that balance tradition and innovation, The Fretliners continue to chart a bold path forward, creating music that connects as deeply on record as it does on stage.

Chris Gantry - Worth Every Nail CD/LP (Appalachia Record Co.)

Backed by most of Silver Jews, along with Third Man Records collaborators, Gantry is lifted up by a new generation of outsider folk and alt-country artists. Tracked live in 5 days, he returns to the crossover folk, psychedelia and trad country of his late 60's/ early 70's albums. 'Nail' is a mission, a truth bomb, a plea for reflection, and celebration of a 60 year career. Guest vocalists Erin Rae McKaskle, Caitlin Rose, and Cassie Berman also join.

The Garden - Bootleg CD/LP (Epitaph)

The latest album from the experimental punk duo made of twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Wyatt and Fletcher, the 14-track album is packed with The Garden's eclectic instrumentation and visceral production work.

Girl Ultra - RRRomeo LP (Big Dada)

RRRomeo is Girl Ultra's most ambitious and emotionally direct project to date, produced in collaboration with Chromeo. Sung entirely in Spanish, the album blends 80s pop, bloghouse, dub, habibi funk, orchestral arrangements, Arabic samples, Andean instrumentation, and guitar noise, showcasing the expansive creative world Girl Ultra has built across her career. The record features collaborators such as Buscabulla, Jean Tonique, and Empress Of, while Chromeo's involvement extends beyond production, helping shape both the sonic identity and wider creative vision of the project.

JP Harris - Shaving a Dead Man CD/LP (Bloodshot Records)

Produced by Chance McCoy (Old Crow Medicine Show), Shaving A Dead Man embraces and exuberates in old-time Appalachian folk music. Featuring dark Appalachian fiddle & banjo, Americana gothic drones, and whimsically macabre artwork. The repertoire is heirloom, but newcomers to the old-time genre will hear a hypnotic snap & sway in the silvery plunk of JP's banjo, a spectral, bluesy emotion in McCoy's fiddle, & songs with lyrics that conjure something mythical, mysterious, and sometimes murderous. [Clear smoke vinyl pressing.]

Hot Freaks - Soft Body LP (Nettwerk Records)

On Soft Body, Hot Freaks transform an unlikely viral resurgence into a renewed creative chapter, pairing their signature jangly indie-pop with reflections on heartbreak, longing, mental health, and growing older. Written across state lines and built from both newly composed songs and long-shelved ideas, the album balances youthful energy with hard-earned perspective, capturing a band rediscovering itself and embracing a fresh beginning.

Tony Iommi - From the Dark CD/2xLP (BMG)

Founding member of Black Sabbath and the godfather of heavy metal returns with his first new solo music in 21 years and his first full-length release since Black Sabbath's final album, 13. Across eight inventive and expansive tracks, Tony and producer Mike Exeter bring to life a musical vision long-in-the-making, featuring some of the finest guitar performances of Iommi's career. "World Alone," the first single, is a fast-paced, guitar-driven track with Tony's signature, monster riffs driving throughout. [Indie exclusive red & black vinyl pressing.]

Josh Johnson - Animative CD/LP (Nonesuch)

Composer, producer, saxophonist and synthesist Josh Johnson's third album under his own name and his first for International Anthem / Nonesuch Records. The ten track album—co-produced by Johnson and Paul Bryan, featuring contributions from Meshell Ndegeocello, Macie Stewart, Marquis Hill, Ben Lumsdaine, and others—blends skeletal soul-jazz, post-bop, electronic minimalism, and dreamy ambience. Johnson often uses the saxophone to control a sampler or a drum machine, triggering changes in a loop or an effect, but always in service of a feeling.

The Koreatown Oddity - Purdy LP (Stones Throw)

LA native The Koreatown Oddity returns for his fourth album on Stones Throw. Purdy is the proving ground for an avant-garde rapper tackling being a father and partner with the boundless confidence of a child's imagination. Purdy sees Koreatown soundtrack a knight's first battle, document the cultivation of a beautiful lawn and contemplate if anyone really means it when they say "have a great weekend" - all while realizing that he's now part of something bigger. Purdy paints the complete portrait of the man Dominique Purdy and artist The Koreatown Oddity together: musician, father, and peddler of the absurd. [Lavender eco haze vinyl pressing.]

John Legend - Muse CD/LP (Republic Records)

The new album from the R&B singer-songwriter and pianist, produced by Pharrell Williams with guest appearances by Pharrell and Clipse. [Indie exclusive smokey quartz color vinyl pressing.]

Fenne Lily - Win Win CD/LP (Nettwerk Records)

The fourth album from Brooklyn-based English songwriter Fenne Lily. Catalyzed by a crisis of confidence after feeling alone in an alien place, Win Win was written in the aching space between hopelessness and the cure. Across the album she turns heartbreak and self-doubt into songs that are raw yet carefully built, carrying the directness, dry humor, and emotional intelligence that have long defined her writing. With grounded grooves, country-leaning textures, and a live band sound that feels strong, sure, and lived-in, 'Win Win' is a record about coming back to yourself with the lights on. [Moss green color vinyl pressing.]

Loidis - From the Toolkit of Lovers 3xLP (Incienso)

The latest from Brian Leeds, known publicly under several monikers: Huerco S., Pendant, and Loidis -- a play on his own surname. Recorded over the summer of 2025, Leeds expounds upon the sound of 2024's One Day in a 110-minute meditation on life, love and dub. He re-presents the toolkit he's accumulated over the last fifteen years, tearing into a profound exploration of the Loidis sound. The twelve tracks here are expansive by design, built with a soft touch. Superlatives continue to fail. "Micro-house," "minimal," "dub techno," "ambient"; these are all just ways to compress presence. Each layer of sound obscures what you see. Each play reveals what was already there. Speakers push the air and gesture toward something so simple: that love is the source, life is the course.

Ian Noe - Canyon Falls Trailer Band CD (Lock13 Records)

Canyon Falls Trailer Band is considered a bookend to the Kentucky-based country folk singer-songwriter's trilogy of albums, following 2019's Between the Country and 2022's River Fools & Mountain Saints. This expansive double album is centered around Noe's more poignant and compelling assessment of his home and the people from there, yet broadly all people with stories like their own.

O.A.R. - Three Tinted Windows CD/LP (ATO Records)

O.A.R.'s new studio album captures the energy, perspective, and fearless creativity of a band that refuses to stand still. It arrives as O.A.R. celebrates 30 years together, a milestone marked by their massive "Three Decades Tour" and a career that has seen the band headline Red Rocks, sell out Madison Square Garden, and build one of the most passionate fan communities in music. Packed with sharp songwriting and massive hooks, Three Tinted Windows captures O.A.R. at maximum velocity - equal parts road-tested veterans and futuristic creators. [Indie exclusive orange crush color vinyl pressing.]

The Olivia Tremor Control - The Same Place 2xLP (Elephant 6)

The third and final double album from The Olivia Tremor Control. 27 tracks recorded before the passing of Bill Doss and W. Cullen Hart. Recorded on 4- and 8- track tapes, 16 track digital, and various DAWs. Most of the sessions were from 2002-12, one session in 2017, and many more from 2023-6, but some pieces date back as far as 1988. [This title shipped late and should arrive next week.]

Outer World - Home CD (K Records)

Home is an album built from the singular chemistry between Outer World members Kenneth Close (Positive No) and Tracy Wilson (Dahlia Seed, Ringfinger, Positive No), a technicolor love language that layers synthesized sound and samples alongside drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, and voice, blurring the line between modern technology, a shared history, and unified emotional truth. There are no walls between genres here, conversations take place between: outernational grooves, Italian western soundtrack composers, Hazlewood's twang guitars, '60s spectropop beat girls, Lagos highlife, contemporary classical choral arrangements, Icelandic avant garde, Bond villains, arty-facts from the first punk era, Eastern philosophy, and Athens GA art school in the '80s - it's all in there, woven into a singular voice.

Anderson. Paak & Cordae - Heavy is the Crown CD/LP (Apeshit)

Nine-time Grammy winner Anderson.Paak and Grammy-nominated rapper Cordae have been operating on the same wavelength for years. On their debut collaborative album, that organic bond gets the full-length treatment its always deserved. Meeting as total equals, .Paak's elastic, soul-drenched musicality anchors Cordae's razor-sharp lyricism, allowing both to unpack the heavy reality of success and family responsibility without ever losing their spark. To drive the point home, the album art pays homage to the cult comedy Step Brothers as a nod to the silly, irreverent friendship that birthed the music in the first place. [Indie exclusive pink & gray color vinyl pressing.]

Porcelain - Today's Minor Victories LP (Todo)

The sophomore album from the post-hardcore/noise rock band out of Austin, Texas.

Powerplant - Bridge of Sacrifice LP (Many Hats)

Powerplant, the solitary project of Ukraine-born, London-based Theo Zhykharyev, is distinguished by its giddy bass, sizzling synth lines and melancholic vocal hooks. Both sonically and thematically, the Powerplant project is ever evolving - after the lo-fi synth-punk of 2019's breakout debut album, People in the Sun, came an instrumental 2022 dungeon-synth release Stump Soup. Powerplant's newest endeavor is a black metal-infused journey through all that is heavy and gothic, whilst keeping the foundation of beloved pop-songwriting and melodic vocal hooks.

Abigail Rose - Paisley LP (self-released)

Abigail Rose is a Nashville indie folk-rock artist known for vivid storytelling and a voice The New York Times called "a slightly folk-y Stevie Nicks." Blending folk roots with indie and modern-pop instincts, she writes songs that feel intimate but are built to fill a room.

Caroline Rose - Gentling the Horse at the Walt Whitman Mall CD/LP (SUCK Records)

Fishtailing across a trimmed sod lawn, the parking lot of a box-store strip mall, a fast food drive-thru––it’s a hyperreal Americana fantasy that calls Caroline Rose (she/they) home. Gentling the Horse stretches the ordinary into the uncanny. The record pairs sharply observed, memoiristic songwriting with expansive guitar textures that render the everyday with violent clarity and mythic scale. It’s Ennio Morricone with an AR15: surf guitars, spaghetti westerns, and suburban dread colliding until they become their own sharp vernacular. [Indie exclusive potato chip yellow color vinyl pressing.]

Josh Rouse - Museums & Women CD/LP (New West)

Josh Rouse steps out on his new album as an itinerant documentarian capturing the drifters, dreamers, and passing strangers who slip in and out of our lives, and finding himself somewhere in the frame too. Museums and Women is Rouse at his most hopeful and romantic, balancing casual poetry with wry humor across a collection of characters who are searching but never desperate, longing but never lonely. Recorded in Nashville with longtime production partner Brad Jones (Chuck Prophet, Hayes Carll), the album came together almost by accident resulting in loose, unplanned studio sessions with Rouse on guitar, Jones on bass, and Fred Eltringham (Sheryl Crow, The Chicks) on drums, cut live and fresh, morning sessions followed by same-day overdubs. [Indie exclusive cream white vinyl pressing. CD and vinyl copies signed by Josh!]

JP Saxe - Okay Piano Guy CD (Diggers Factory)

JP Saxe is returning home. Piano Guy strips everything back to the inception of his artist's journey - songwriting, and his instrument of choice: the piano. Recorded over nine months with longtime musician colleagues (Ryan Marrone, TJ Whitelaw, and Alex "Xela" Sutton), this is the rawest, most self-directed record of his career. In its lyrics, Saxe puts forward the lessons he's learned in love and loss, hope and growth.

Shabazz Palaces - It's a Style Sport LP (Sub Pop)

With bravado and precision, ever-evolving musician, producer, and rapper Ishmael Butler returns as Shabazz Palaces with It's a Style Sport. It's a Style Sport stays true to Shabazz Palaces' form in its daring show of experimental hip-hop and free-form poetry, while revealing a more reflective and upfront side of the Seattle musician. It's a Style Sport finds Butler compiling what he's learned from his storied career into a playful, shimmering portal, again proving himself an artist of chameleonic ambition, fueled by curiosity, courage, and a limitless imagination.

Spike & the Gimme Gimmes - Shit the Bed LP (Fat Wreck Chords)

Spike & the Gimme Gimmes are undoubtably the most fun cover band of all time. The band, known as "Me First & the Gimme Gimmes" until last year, has truly earned the title of supergroup: each of the five founding members had already had a serious music career. Originally, Spike Slawson (Swingin' Utters), Fat Mike (NOFX), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters), Joey Cape (Lagwagon) and Dave Raun (Lagwagon) came together through their shared love of punk. The band now plays in changing lineup centered around singer Spike Slawson. Shit the Bed, the debut of Spike and the Gimme Gimmes is everything you want in a Gimmes' release. Instantly catchy and amazing musicianship; you'll love their takes on your favorite songs.

Surprise Chef - Frogs in a Pond LP (Concord Records)

Frogs in a Pond is an examination into, and an expression of, a shared human experience. The Australia-based jazz-funk quintet found inspiration from European film composers working in the late 60s and early 70s. The music expresses musical themes with a cinematic landscape of moods and feelings that evoke emotion without the listener having watched the film for which the music was composed, pushing boundaries that dictate a unique perspective to their music. [Indie exclusive green vinyl pressing.]

Bernie Taupin - The Sea Has No Mercy CD/LP (Mercury Nashville)

Bernie Taupin presents The Sea Has No Mercy, his first-ever entirely self-written album and most personal work to date. Across 10 reflective, atmospheric folk songs, Taupin distills 76 years of life experience into stories that are intimate, vivid and deeply revealing. Inspired by his acclaimed memoir Scattershot, the album was recorded in Nashville with producer Frank Liddell and features guest appearances from Brandi Carlile, Lee Ann Womack and Georgey Taupin. Warm, thoughtful and richly cinematic, The Sea Has No Mercy stands as a late-career masterpiece from one of music's greatest storytellers.

Twin Temple - Doomed Lovers CD/LP (Pentagrammaton Records)

Too bold for some, irresistible for others, Satanic doo-wop duo Twin Temple have become cultural provocateurs and one of music's most talked about crossover acts. Born from one of the darkest periods in the band's personal lives, Doomed Lovers is their most intimate and emotionally revealing work to date, expanding the cinematic scope of their unmistakable sound while remaining rooted in the timeless traditions of early rock 'n' roll. Produced by Grammy-winning producer Shooter Jennings at the iconic Studio 3 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, the album continues the band's commitment to classic analog recording while expanding its sonic palette with lush orchestral arrangements performed by a 37-piece orchestra. [Indie exclusive blue vinyl pressing.]

The WLDLFE - Revolver 2xLP (Riser House)

New studio album from the indie pop band, following 2024's Heaven is a Place.

Wolves in the Throne Room - Estuary CD (Relapse)

Kings of USBM Wolves in the Throne Room have returned with sharpened teeth. Estuary is rawer, more volatile with the storming sensuality of noisy industrial elements, evolving through the domain of warm rain, majestic forests and diffused starlight. Massive percussion and seething gothic guitars wipe the listener’s psyche clear of all stagnation, transforming them into active, evolutionary conduits.

Reissues, Comps, Live Recordings, Vault Excavations...

Chuck Berry - Back Home (Chess Acoustic Sounds Series) LP (Chess)

Chuck Berry’s 14th studio album details the return to his longtime label, Chess Records, in 1970. Complete with the rock ‘n’ roll sound that made him famous, all of the tracks on this record are penned by Chuck Berry himself. The two opening tracks, “Tulane” and “Have Mercy Judge” are standouts, exemplifying Berry’s enduring musicianship and wit on the guitar. Also includes “I’m A Rocker” and “Christmas.”

Brooks & Dunn - Brand New Man LP (Music on Vinyl)

Both Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn had already started promising solo careers in the 1980s, but something special happened when Tim DuBois suggested they record together. Their debut album delivered four number one hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, going seven times platinum in the US (seven million copies sold) and three times platinum in Canada. "Boot Scootin' Boogie" was the album's biggest hit and single-handedly revived line dancing in the 1990s. Finally, this classic gets the LP treatment it deserves. [Smoky marble color vinyl pressing.]

It was produced by Alex Chilton of Big Star at Sam Phillips Recording in Memphis, and captures the band's early lineup of Lux Interior, Poison Ivy, Bryan Gregory, and Nick Knox. The Cramps worked without a bassist, building their sound around two guitars, and the album pairs originals such as "TV Set" and "Garbageman" with covers including the Sonics' "Strychnine" and the standard "Fever." [RSD Essentials "Garbageman Grape" color vinyl pressing.]

Marshall Crenshaw - The Bootleg Sounds of Marshall Crenshaw: 1984-87 LP (Yep Roc)

Songs include a cover of Buddy Holly's "That'll Be the Day," featuring Garry Tallent and Max Weinberg; demo versions of songs that would appear on his third and fourth studio albums; live recordings from 1986-87; and other lost recordings Marshall unearthed from his studio.

De La Soul - Stakes is High - 30th Anniversary 2xCD/4xLP (Chrysalis)

De La Soul's Stakes Is High captures the group at a crucial turning point: older, sharper, and completely locked in. Released in 1996, the album marked their fourth full-length and their first without Prince Paul, opening the door to a tougher, more stripped-back sound led in part by a young J Dilla on the title track. Stakes Is High remains such a vital listen because it finds de la Soul confronting the mid-'90s head-on, with wit, frustration, and a deep sense of artistic confidence. From "The Bizness" to "Itzsoweezee (HOT)," the album balances soulful production and clear-eyed commentary in a way that still feels fresh decades later. Expanded anniversary edition includes the full instrumental album, along with remixes and other b-sides. [Black & white spoke effect color vinyl pressing.]

Musically, Angel's Egg pushes Gong's unique fusion of psychedelic rock, progressive experimentation, jazz improvisation, and anarchic humour into new territory.

Various Artists - Habibi Funk 035: Beirut City Pop CD (Habibi Funk)

Released 10/16 on vinyl; now available on CD. Beirut City Pop brings together ten recordings from Lebanon's private press cassette scene of the late 1970s and 1980s. Created by short-lived bands and studio projects, these songs move between disco, pop, soul, jazz, bossa, rock and AOR. Produced during the Lebanese civil war, many were copied at home and circulated only among friends and local communities, with some surviving solely on hand-copied tapes. Many of the musicians were connected through Ziad Rahbani's Bypass Studio, collaborating across projects and sharing a common musical language. Inspired by the blend of genres found in Japanese city pop, the title reflects both the sound and spirit of these recordings.

Mott the Hoople - Brain Capers LP (Rhino)

Brain Capers captures Mott the Hoople at their heaviest and most unfiltered. Often considered the band's rawest album, it strips away glam and polish in favor of hard-driving rock, snarling guitars, and Ian Hunter's defiant, world-weary vocals. Released at a turbulent moment for the band, the record crackles with tension and urgency, blending gritty riffs with sharp songwriting and moments of bruised vulnerability. Darker, louder, and more aggressive than much of their catalog, Brain Capers stands as a cult favorite and a powerful snapshot of Mott the Hoople on the brink.

Nada Surf's High/Low is a sharp, melodic burst of '90s alternative rock that balances youthful angst with strong pop sensibilities. Released in 1996, the album is driven by crunchy guitars, dynamic shifts, and emotionally direct songwriting that captures both frustration and vulnerability. Anchored by the breakout single "Popular," the record moves between energetic, hook-driven rockers and more introspective moments, showcasing the band's ability to blend irony with sincerity. While firmly rooted in the alternative rock sound of its era, High/Low stands out for its melodic clarity and emotional honesty. It remains a defining debut that introduced Nada Surf as a band with both bite and heart.

The Original Messe Noire returns. For the first time since its unholy birth, Twin Temple (Bring You Their Signature Sound... Satanic Doo-Wop) rises again from the crypt. Twin Temple's debut album is a brilliant, blasphemous masterpiece that redefines the boundaries of modern rock 'n' roll.
