Patrick Sweany In-Store Performance & Album Signing

Wednesday, August 6th at 4:00 PM

We hope you’ll make plans to join us in the store on Thursday, August 6th for an instore performance and album signing with Patrick Sweany to celebrate the release of his new album, and first full-length since 2018, Baby It’s Late.

Patrick Sweany lives for the grooves. Whether it's the ones he records on his albums, the ones he lays down with his bands on the stage, or the ones that define his days writing songs and living life in his East Nashville neighborhood, the grooves are what have propelled Sweany through 20+ years of performing and recording across 9 studio albums and dozens of countries around the world. Being in the groove is Sweany's recipe for success.

After gaining some prominence in the late ‘90s as an acoustic blues guitarist and singer at Blues Festivals, Sweany formed the Patrick Sweany Band, a bass-less trio with a rotating cast of baritone guitarists, including Dan Auerbach of Black Keys fame. Auerbach went on to produce two albums for Sweany for Nine Mile Records. In 2009, Patrick moved from Ohio to East Nashville and immersed himself in the local music scene, playing gigs in a variety of formats, but always with that underlying groove and blues influence.

Now he’s got a brand new album called Baby, It’s Late, once again on Nine Mile Records, out Friday, August 1st. Utilizing ace players from two of his Nashville side-projects (the 50s/60s era blues combo Tiger Beats, and the soul/funk quartet Super Felon), the new album is a pastiche of Sweany's wide-ranging influences and history, incorporating classic rock, soul, country and, of course, a massive dose of vintage blues. Sweany produced the record himself - a first in his storied career.

We’re stoked that Patrick Sweany will join us to rock the shop on Wednesday, August 6th, at 4:00 PM, in celebration of Baby, It’s Late. Preorder your copy now for a wristband to go through the autograph line following the performance. The live performance is free and all ages. Hope to see you here on August 6th!
