We’re thrilled to host Metric for an acoustic in-store performance on Sunday, September 25th at 12:30 PM, where we’ll be celebrating release of their new album, Formentera! They’re in town to perform at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Sunday night as a part of their Doomscroller Tour with special guests Secret Machines. (Make sure you enter to win our ticket giveaway contest for 2 tickets to the show next time you’re in the shop.) Though Formentera was released earlier this summer digitally and on CD, the vinyl was delayed and won’t be out until the end of September, however we’re fortunate to be able to have copies of the vinyl early for our in-store performance with the band! You can preorder Formentera on Limited Edition Sky Blue colored vinyl LP or Standard Black Vinyl from our site here. All those who preorder the vinyl or purchase the CD from Grimey’s (online or in the shop) will receive a wristband for this exclusive acoustic in-store performance by Emily & Jimmy and for the record signing, which will immediately follow their set.
A Note on Wristbands + Preorders: Wristbands are free with preorder / purchase through Grimey’s and are required for all attendees 13+. One preorder purchased = one wristband. Wristbands are non-transferable. You can preorder Formentera in the record shop as well as on our webstore here. If you live out of state but want to attend our event, please note the process explained on the preorder page and select local shipping for your preorder. Preorders for local pick up will be available at our event.
IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is an inexpensive paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. (This is no fun at all.) If possible, please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend our Metric in-store performance & album signing.
