Lindsay Lou In-Store Performance, Record Release Celebration & Album Signing

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We hope you can join us on Wednesday, October 4th for a special early in-store performance & album by Lindsay Lou! She’ll be performing in the record shop to celebrate the release of her album Queen of Time before she heads east to perform on October 6th at Cavefest at The Caverns in Grundy County, Tennessee. We’re fans and are pumped for her new record and cannot wait to host Lindsay in the shop!

Nashville-based artist Lindsay Lou’s captivating vocals are capable of untold multitudes: a molasses-sweet instrument equally capable of clarion ache, slicing deep into the soul. The daughter of a literal coal-miner and millwright, and the granddaughter of a teacher gone Rainbow Gathering healer, Lou honed her honest and resonant style with her bluegrass-inspired band, Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys, and Michigan supergroup, Sweet Water Warblers (Rachael Davis, May Erlewine), excavating elements of bluegrass, folk, Americana, and soulful pop for their emotional depths. Whether bathing in the radiant sunset of Tennessee or digging into the rich loam of her midwest upbringing, Lou has an innate ability to bring an immediacy to both affairs of the heart and philosophical thought. On her new album Queen of Time, Lou captures a new arc of haloed beauty, becoming unattainable in her own way—a vibrant, powerful woman who can share herself with the world, and yet define a mystic sense of inner self as well. The new album was produced by Dave O’Donnell and was recorded right here in Music City at Sound Emporium’s Studio B. Due out September 29th via Kill Rock Stars Nashville, Queen of Time is available to preorder in the record store or on our website here.

This is a free & all ages affair, so come one, come all!

IMPORTANT PARKING INFORMATION! Our parking lot is shared with other rad businesses and it is a finite space, so parking is limited. In addition to our lot, there is a paid parking lot behind Elegy Coffee and Mickey's on Gallatin Road that is a short walk from the shop. Please use EXTREME CAUTION if parking on the nearby, narrow neighborhood streets. Too many cars make these roads impassable and result in angry neighbors, the police being called, and cars being towed. There is a police office who lives in the neighborhood across the street from the store and his driveway has been blocked by event attendees 3 times so far in 2023 (!!!) We do not want anger or disrespect any of our neighbors, especially not that one. DO NOT BLOCK DRIVEWAYS OR PARK IN UNAPPROVED ALLEY SPACES or you will be swiftly towed. (This is no fun at all.) Please consider carpooling, ride-sharing, walking, biking, scooting, roller skating, or taking the bus to attend this Grimey’s event.
