The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album) Early Listening Party

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

The film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, is set to be released nationwide on November 20th via Lionsgate, with the soundtrack officially being released on November 13th. One week before the soundtrack drops and two weeks before the film makes its debut, we invite you to join us at Grimey’s for a special listening experience! Come out on Saturday, November 7th at 4:30, aka BEER:30, for an exciting early listening opportunity. We’ll be spinning the soundtrack to the upcoming movie, sharing party favors with attendees, giving away a sweet prize and enjoying some cold Tennessee Brew Works beers (Beer is available to those 21+ with valid ID only, while supplies last.)

From acclaimed director Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping follows sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) from District 12, beginning on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, the biggest Games yet with twice as many tributes. Set in the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, the story follows Haymitch into the arena, where he forms an unlikely alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace) and joins a coalition determined to challenge the Capitol’s control under President Snow (Ralph Fiennes). As the competition unfolds, Haymitch risks everything to take down the Games from within the arena — setting in motion the rebellion that will change Panem forever.

Based on the best-selling books by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games is a global blockbuster film franchise that has spawned five record-breaking films that collectively have grossed over $3.3 billion at the global box office. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album) is set for release on November 13 as a 2 CD set and as a double LP Sage Mist colored vinyl set, available exclusively at indie record shops. The album was executive produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson) and features tracks by Noah Kahan, The Smashing Pumpkins and 27 (!!) other cross-genre artists.

This is a free & all ages affair, so come one, come all!

A note on BEER:30 events—The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album) early listening event coincides with our weekly BEER:30 hang, so we’ll be offering free Tennessee Brew Works beers to those 21+ (with valid IDs). Beer is complimentary but we are collecting cash tips to be donated to support the good works of the folks at DRKMTTR, Nashville's enduring all-ages space, that thrives as a hub for connectivity and creative collaboration.
