Jeff Tweedy In-Store Performance

  • Grimey's New and Preloved Music 1060 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

Oh man are we excited to announce that Jeff Tweedy will stop in the shop for a solo performance on the Grimey's stage! He's in town to play the James K. Polk Theater at TPAC on Wednesday, March 20th (some tickets to that show are still available here) and will also perform a solo set at Grimey's earlier that same day, at 12noon. Tweedy is on tour to promote his recent solo album WARM and his book Let's Go (So We Can Get Back). To ensure you get in for this intimate performance, you can buy Jeff's album on vinyl or CD at Grimey's, or pick up a copy of his book here. For each CD, LP or book purchased, you will receive a wristband that guarantees you'll get in for the performance. We will begin giving out wristbands with purchase on Friday, March 15th, at 10AM. Initially, you must come to Grimey's in person to get a wristband. Starting Sunday, March 17th, at Noon, you'll be able to secure a wristband by ordering the album or book online via our web store! Space is limited so don't delay!

As the founding member and leader of the American rock band Wilco, and before that the cofounder of the alt-country band Uncle Tupelo, Jeff Tweedy is one of contemporary American music's most accomplished songwriters, musicians, and performers. Since starting Wilco in 1994, Jeff has written original songs for ten Wilco albums and collaborated with folk singer Billy Bragg to bring musical life to three albums full of Woody Guthrie-penned lyrics in the Mermaid Avenue series. In 2014, he released Sukierae, a musical collaboration with his son, drummer Spencer Tweedy. He has produced a trio of albums for iconic soul and gospel singer Mavis Staples. And now he has written a compelling memoir that chronicles his (mostly) musical endeavors and lessons learned while capturing his personality so well you can't help but hear the author's warm, familiar voice leaping off the page. Tweedy also recently released his first-ever solo album WARM, containing his most personal songs yet. It's kind of audio companion to the book. WARM was produced and recorded entirely by Jeff at Chicago's now legendary studio, The Loft (with help from some of his usual collaborators - Spencer Tweedy, Glenn Kotche and Tom Schick). Don't miss this chance to see one of America's greatest artists in the intimate environs of Grimey's Records.
