Neil Young + Promise Of The Real - The Visitor CD (Reprise)

When Neil Young entered Shangri La Studio with the band Promise Of The Real a few months ago, there were a lot of images and feelings careening around his soul. The country was heading in a direction Young had never seen, even though up until then he thought he'd seen it all. But something different was happening, and it had gotten inside his music. . By the end of the recording sessions, he knew he'd made his most diverse album going all the way back to Harvest in 1972, when America was also in the throes of becoming unhinged. Neil Young didn't blink then, and he is not blinking now. Vinyl due 1/05/18.

Songs Of Experience is the companion release to 2014's Songs Of Innocence - the two titles drawing inspiration from a collection of poems Songs Of Innocence And Experience by the 18th century English mystic and poet William Blake. Van Morrison - Versatile CD/2xLP+MP3 (Legacy)

Following the success of his 37th studio album Roll With The Punches, Van Morrison returns in the same calendar year with his 38th. While Roll With The Punches saw Van revisit many of the definitive rhythm and blues records that have stayed with him all his life, the Belfast Cowboy's latest album sees him delve further back into recorded music's archives to interpret some of the 20th century's greatest vocal jazz standards. Across Versatile's 16 tracks, Van interprets some of the very building blocks of modern music in his own utterly unique style. As well as songs originally made famous by the likes of Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra, The Righteous Brothers, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole, Versatile features six new Van compositions, including "Broken Record" - a timeless piece of late-night swing.

Cindy Wilson - Change CD/LP (Kill Rock Stars)

After 40 years as one-third of the creative core of the B-52s, Cindy Wilson steps out with her own solo album. A collaboration between Wilson and friends and Athens musicians Ryan Monahan, Lemuel Hayes, Suny Lyons, and Marie Davon, Change marks a significant departure from Wilson's other band. With echoes of Air, Bjork, Tame Impala, and Gary Numan, the band refers to its infections brand of new-wave electro-pop as Turbo Chill. Rather than shouting in a rock voice, on Change Wilson gets to experiment with more emotional, subtle vocalizations, crooning and whispering over swirls of subtle psychedelia, Quincy Jones-era strings, and pulsing synths.

Grayson Capps - Scarlett Roses CD/LP (The Royal Potato Family)

Scarlett Roses is the acclaimed Alabama songwriter's sixth studio album and his first solo release in six years. Throughout the collection, Capps showcases the kind of understated brilliance that can blossom when creativity is detached from expectation, when songs are truly given the space and time to find their writer.

Miguel - War & Leisure CD (RCA)

Miguel incorporates R&B, funk, hip hop, rock and electronic styles into his music, and has been compared to vocalists Babyface and Prince. His new album includes the singles "Told You So" and "Sky Walker" featuring Travis Scott.

Gregory Porter - Nat King Cole & Me CD/2xLP (Blue Note)

Deluxe edition featuring three bonus tracks. Gregory Porter's third Blue Note album is a heartfelt tribute to his idol, the legendary singer, pianist and Capitol recording artist Nat King Cole. Vinyl now available too.

TootArd - Laissez Passer CD/LP (Glitterbeat)

TootArd are a young, trailblazing ensemble from the occupied Golan Heights who deftly fuse Levant-tinted desert blues, melodic psych-rock, morphed reggae, and classical Arabic modalities. TootArd grew up understanding that borders are something imposed by governments, lines that only exist on a map. With its insistent riff that evokes the space of the desert; the glorious, driving, funky percussion; and an electric guitar modified with extra frets to sound like an oud, the title-track builds a manifesto that bonds West Africa and the Maghreb of Morocco to the Levant. TootArd are not "undefined"; they've fashioned their own identity in their music, creating a bond of the stateless that reaches from the Levant to the Tuareg and reaches out far beyond.

Thor & Friends - Subversive Nature of Kindness CD (Lm Dupli-Cation)

Sophomore effort from the avant-chamber ensemble formed polymath percussionist Thor Harris. The three primary members of the band are Peggy Ghorbani on marimba, Sarah "Goat" Gautier on marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, organ, voice, mellotron and piano, and Harris on sundry percussion and wind instruments, including some of his own devising. Vinyl due 12/15.

Darius Koski - What Was Once Is By And Gone CD/LP (Fat Wreck Chords)

For nearly three decades Darius Koski has built an impressive body of work as a member of the Swingin' Utters and Filthy Thieving Bastards, as well as launching a solo career a couple years back with Sisu. And now, he's adding to that canon with What Was Once Is By And Gone, his second solo record. Where Sisu dripped with Koski's Americana influences, What Was Once Is By And Gone is an even more eclectic batch. You can see the mark of such artists as The Kinks, Leonard Cohen, and even the dark, unsettling works of Nick Cave present this time around.

Andy Grammer - The Good Parts CD (S-Curve)

Third album from the country pop singer/songwriter.
